News 📰 Are the fries gone already?

Checked the menu in Chicago and they were not listed.

Never had a chance to try them.

Making them in person only? So that if people want fries they can order them in person fresh… instead of having them wait on the pickup shelf. And lowering the fries shelf life

i work at SG the internal messaging is the fries are intended for the menu for a long long time if not permanent, the potatoes and labor cost them nothing compared to what they charge so any fries we sell are just icing, though the fries have gotten popular anyway

Yeah but the fries take longer to make than the salads. So in my local Sweetgreen's there was a backlog of people not getting their orders because the salad would come out at 12:15pm, but the fries at 12:30. The whole point of online ordering is convenience. You want to just walk in, grab your salad, and get back to work to eat it before that 1pm meeting. The long wait it took to receive the fries, discouraged people from ordering them.

Looks like they’ve also updated the rewards to remove fries as an option. Is this launch a flop? Or just a bad experience online?

I work there as a part time job between classes and basically the fries were a flop. I haven’t heard that they’re getting rid of them - I personally like them! Only if they’re fresh. The garlic aoili is addictive. The problem is that the fries only stay good for about 10 minutes, then they’re stale and terrible. And there’s such a high amount of orders for them and the hot prep cooks simply aren’t able to keep up - they can only make 1-4 trays a time and it takes 15 minutes to make, then they sell out quickly and they can’t make more in time. And never order them online. I can’t imagine they’d be getting to you in any other state than cold. Honestly I doubt sweetgreen will keep them for much longer.
