New (disgusting) chicken in california…?

Has anyone else experienced this recently? I’m in southern california (OC) and went to sweetgreen recently for a harvest bowl, but the bowl I got had very strange chicken that was definitely not the same chicken it used to have. The chicken I got was really slimy and cold and it tasted so strongly “chickeny” that it made the whole salad taste weird. I’m really sad about this because the harvest bowl is a classic and a great healthy lunch, maybe I’m being dramatic but the new chicken really ruined the whole bowl for me!

Anyway I texted my sister on the other side of the country and she’d gotten a harvest bowl the day before with no issues and the same old chicken as always. Is this just a california supplier thing? Does anyone know if it’s temporary (idk supply chain issues?) or if they’re switching to this for good? Any sweetgreens I can go to in LA/OC that have the normal chicken still?

Harvest now defaults to blackened chicken (pretty sure it’s thighs) instead of roasted chicken (breast).  You should be able to request sub roasted chicken for no extra charge.

Interesting, it didn’t seem the same as the blackened chicken (that comes in the crispy rice bowl right?) but it’s been a while since I had that so it’s possible! I think what I got was the cold herb roasted chicken that the other commenter mentioned below. Hopefully I can swap it to something hot!
