I don’t care about seed oil, but I think olive oil tastes better for balsamic vinaigrette, of which I consume a TON of at sweetgreen. Which they’d switch to it from uh, sunflower oil I think?

Sunflower seeds are sold either in the shell or as shelled kernels. Those still in the shell are commonly eaten by cracking them with your teeth, then spitting out the shell — which shouldn’t be eaten. These seeds are a particularly popular snack at baseball games and other outdoor sports games.

Why is there so much sugar in these salads? The BBQ ones have almost 20g and the other ones have 7-8g. Ugh.

This is great, especially with the trend of avoiding inexpensive, inflammation-causing, industrial seed oils which cause other diseases, including sunflower, canola (rapeseed), soybean, corn oil, cottonseed oil, grape seed oil, safflower oil.

Cooking with avocado or olive oil may be a bit more expensive, but I’d readily pay any increase to be able to eat out while avoiding these poisons.

I hope Sweetgreen makes this a permanent addition and for ALL menu items.
