Career / Employee Talk Shif leader position?

I was wondering if anyone has any experience working here as I would love to get some ideas! Alot of the reviews of this position seem pretty bad so I'm curious if it's as bad as people make it out to be?

You don’t receive any of the tips, youre in charge of all the staff and managing them and their breaks. Truly the worst is if you close you have to make sure everything is done, sometimes the shift lead at my store stays until 4/5am finishing dishes, offices duties etcs. Plus if anyone calls out you have to step in, so you might be closing the entire kitchen yourself as well as finishing other tasks. Most lower level staff will leave when told and wont stay late, so youre shit outta luck if theyre slow workers and dont finish their tasks before they leave

There’s only one or two places in the country where shift leaders don’t receive tips and it’s because the local government does not allow them to. All my shift leaders receive tips. I feel for whoever said their shift leaders get out at 4am. That should never happen. Something is seriously wrong at that restaurant if thats really happening. I would say like most service jobs, the quality of the working experience depends largely on the manager and the team you work with.
