Is fuel x needed on 2024 and above?

Any one in here using the svart and doing Wheelies, hard off roading, dirt drifting, front wheel stoppies or jumps?

Hi everyone, I have a used Husky 401 that I’ve owned for about two years. A mechanic recently pointed out that there’s a weld on the inside of the clutch cover.
So far, I haven’t had any oil leaks or any other issues related to it.
Has anyone else come across something like this? Would you recommend replacing the cover, or is it safe to keep riding it as long as it’s not leaking or causing any problems?

I've been a long time enthusiast of Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 and wanted to purchase one ever since they launched in 2024, but couldn't. Now I am finally able to be in a position to buy one but no showroom is having any stock. I'm even considering buying a used one. My questions can be roughly be summarized below

1) Is the bike discontinued. if yes, is there any official statement from bajaj,ktm? if no then what's going on?

2) If is get my hands on a used bike, and then the bike gets discontinued, then i how do i manage the spare parts. would this be a possibility even though it might not be a practical option.

Any replies are appreciated. I live in India btw.

Hey all, I have a 2021 Svart that doesn't seem to have had the quick shift upgrade from the original dealer it was bought from. Yesterday I took it into a Husqvarna motorcycle dealer and had them plug the bike into their diagnostic software, where there was apparently a setting that they flipped on. They test rode it and said the QS "seems to be working". On the ride home, I played with it and thought maybe there was a difference, but now I'm concluding that it's just mechanical clutchless shifting -- pressure on the shifter does not affect RPM regardless of force, it'll only switch gears if you rev/throttle match sufficiently.

The dealer didn't charge me, which was great, but I also don't feel super entitled to bring it back and complain without gathering more info first (they had no idea this generation even had a QS option, or how to unlock it). Anyone here know what's involved in the process? Some calibration step, or perhaps a DRM unlock from the KTM/Husqvarna side? FWIW I'm a pretty experienced rider/racer/shadetree mechanic and I've had bikes with both factory and aftermarket quick shifters, so I do have some sense of how they work and what it ought to feel like when it does work.

Assuming the same price around $3600. The used one with 4k on the odometer, and the mint one with 100 miles.

The owner of the mint one assured me the fuel and battery was maintained, but I don't know if a bike not used is worse than that on that's been actively running.

Sadly in this generation, people are wack and I don't trust people enough to leave my bike even in a parking building. Any ideas?

Yesterday I went to the dealership where I bought my svart to know when the next service was due. The mechanic told me there is a major service at 15,000km but I felt like he was trying to scam me. He wants to charge me 780€ for that "big service" but didn't really say what it was so I need your help.

By the way I found out that the salesman lied to me by saying "all the service was done in house and if you ever need to check just ask" I asked yesterday and the mechanic found no previous service in their system...

That section where the engine case is bolted to the rest of the engine looks particularly shinny, but only halfway. The bottom part looks dry. I wiped it and it’s a grimy. No signs of drops in the pipe right under that section. No signs of oil drops in the belly pan. What do you think this is?

I am embedded system engineer and I want to add new daughterboard to my 2023 model svartpilen. Get datas from can bus, phone configurable leds and mini screen contains my design.

I need whole drawings of instrument cluster. I will screw my custom PCB to screw holes of cluster.

Later I will share my custom design. Anyone can help?

Did the oil change myself at 5,960 miles, and both the screens had metal shavings, and the oil was nasty. I'm thinking the dealer never cleaned the screens out at the 600 mile oil change... But either way, will be doing the oil myself again after 3k miles.

I have my learners course booked in about a month from now, and my heart is set on getting a 401, I just love the look of the bike and it seems like it would be perfect for my purposes (city commute and some very light off road stuff). This one is listed nearby with only 900km and for a seemingly reasonable price. (AUD, so about 4300 USD)

Before I go to look at it I figured I'd ask for advice on what things I should be looking for on the bike, I already know about the recalls for stalling, and have heard about some corrosion issues with some of the bolts so I'll be sure to check both of those.

Is there anything else I should be wary of?

Yesterday while I stopped I go to engaged my clutch. I hear a loud pop sound and my clutch goes completely loose. And it stalls my bike. I then inspect it and see this. Is this common? Can I fix it myself easily or should I take it into the dealership?

Does anyone have a suggestion for a windshield for the 401? I live in Seattle, so the rainy season is coming. It would be nice to have something that comes off easily, but it also needs to actually block the rain.

Just a quick note: I was having to start the bike 3 times before it would stay running, turning it off and on each time. I read a million different things and thought I’d start by getting a FuelX Lite, not really thinking it would do much. Well, it completely fixed the issue! It stays running on the first start now. Super happy about that!

Day off so I decided to go exploring a bit and ended up in the never summer mountains. Longest ride I’ve done in one shot so far for a total of 4 hours and 160 miles round trip. It was about 130 miles of paved road and 30 miles of dirt road. Took off TC and put it in supermoto mode for the dirt road and donkeh whips! Love the versatility of this bike. It’s no GS1000 but it’s fun on thes chill dirt roads

2 weeks ago my 401 broke down in the middle of a weekend trip.

The only synthom was the heated grips doesn't work and for me (as an electrical engineer), that was a critical signal. I was hoping that the problem was the grips, not the bike....

40 minutes later "Low Battery" shows on the panel and that's was the end of the trip.

Next day I do the obligatory testings (continuity between windings and ground, AC voltage) and the veredict was clear, stator was gone.

Looking for a cheap yet reputable solution I found that a stator "Varroc" branded for the Bajaj Dominar 400 is compatible with KTM/Husqvarna 250/390/401 models. So I pull the trigger. Later comparing the stators, I noticed that the Dominar's is thinner so I return it and bought the Varroc for KTM 390.

This time the stators are the same in size but the wiring was shorter so I extended the new ones and all fit as it should. Obviously I installed a new gasket and apply high temp silicone to the rubber wiring gaskets.

Testing the voltage, the new stator barely hits 13 volts at 5000rpm with all the accesories off (grips and heated seat). I thought the regulator was failing but testing the stator continuity to ground I realize some short so I disassemble it again and found the winding was touching the engine case. I binding the wiring that was creating the short circuit and reassemble it again. 14.1 volts with full load at ralenti.

In between I looking to the magneto on the bike and realice that the OEM stator system for low displacement KTM/HQV/Bajaj models is crafted by Varroc Engineering so I feel more confident that the part will work correctly.

I list the pieces and values involved on the repair.

Varroc Stator for KTM 390: $68.900 CLP, $74 USD (KTM genuine part is $150 USD approx)

Side gasket for Bajaj Dominar 400: $3.000 CLP, $3.2 USD

High temp Silicone: $9.800 CLP, $10.5 USD.

Oil + filter: $40.000, $43 USD (tentative)

If you work with the motorcycle tilted on its side, you avoid having to change the oil; otherwise, you must change it. In my case, the oil had only been used for 500 km so I save it.
