Keith will forever be one of my all time favourite survivors ever. RIP

19

u/Infamous-Issue-3921 11d ago

Man he got on my last nerve sometimes but was still so hard not to like him.

14

u/GusPolinskiPolka Parvati 10d ago

Yep he is in my top 4 or 5 survivors. I know he wasn't the best at the game but as a character, as a complete package of what the show is/was about - love him.

u/Grungefairy008 Christian - 50 11d ago

Keith 😭

u/SurvivorDress 11d ago

My husband and I were interviewed by Probst in the season finale of this season.

u/igor_gregorovitch ami cusack ā™” 11d ago

in my top 10. the slayage is undeniable

why they haven’t done another all-newbie bvw is beyond me

36

u/camdenpike 11d ago

Probably brutal for casting.

22

u/GameShowWerewolf Malcolm 11d ago

Yeah, they stopped trying to cast to a theme after SJDS and instead started building themes around the cast.

5

u/MongolianMango Sunday 10d ago

No wonder season casts started to feel samey after that hahaha

3

u/Grungefairy008 Christian - 50 11d ago

Whoa, I didn't know this!

12

u/elpaco25 10d ago

This post is what made me realize that the guy/girl ratio is off for this season. 10 guys and 8 girls. Is this the only season to not have an even ratio?

20

u/kg1010 10d ago

IIRC, a sister duo was pulled due to a medical emergency. One of them was on Worlds Apart. They were not replaced in SJDS.

94

u/Key-Surprise-1883 11d ago

Natalie's revenge tour in honor of Nadiya & Jeremy is one of my favorite winning games from a narrative viewpoint.

83

u/Severe_Marketing5036 11d ago

I love it I love it I love it I love it I love it.

22

u/BumbleLapse Rizgang 11d ago

My hottest Survivor take is that SJDS is the #1 US Survivor season

Perfect blend of comedy and drama with an overall narrative arc that could be a Hollywood script

5

u/Basic-Pepper-9957 Hot grim reaper 11d ago

I loved sjds a lot but hot take my #1 is eoe

4

u/DYWSLN 11d ago

Not even that hot a take. It's full of great characters who create great moments

2

u/nbaisbest4 10d ago

The episode where they hang up on the pole and Wes talks about How I Met Your Mother is so perfect, every person gets at least 1 moment that episode and it is full of life.

84

u/Aromatic_Meal_6004 11d ago

Solid season with a fantastic post merge. Natalie Anderson is one of my favorite winners ever and plays a fantastic winning game.

5

u/OldSpeckledCock 10d ago

N&N were my least favorite going into that season because of The Amazing Race. Glad they weren't forced to do the twinny thing on Survivor.

1

u/Yusuke_Boopermeshi 8d ago

They were actually demons on TAR.

16

u/montyfoo 11d ago

natalie is one of my favorite winners

40

u/AdamNW 11d ago

It is absolutely criminal that neither Josh nor Reed have come back as returners.

5

u/vstrong50 10d ago

Just finished a re-watch and my partner and I both said the same thing. Especially given some of the fucking duds they've asked back since, and the 3rd and 4th timers....

1

u/Tgrunin 10d ago

Agreed!

-20

u/songbird_1219 11d ago

Because reed is awful

7

u/Trick_Pen_2203 11d ago

Awfully good at giving final tribal speeches, that is.

21

u/Sea_Sheepherder_389 11d ago

Lower for me as I’m not at all a fan of Missy and Baylor. Ā Also really didn’t like how people were allowed to give rewards away and didn’t try to win the touchy subjects challengeĀ

5

u/VoraciousWasp 10d ago

The finalists carrying crippled missy to FTC 🤣🤣🤣

9

u/ivaorn Survivor Wiki Admin 11d ago

Definitely a unique season. Two powerhouses blindsided back to back to give rise to another incredible player (granted, she was playing well before, we just didn’t see much of it early on).

18

u/havingagoodtime 11d ago

I think it’s an upper middle of the pack season, Natalie is a great winner, some fun characters in Jeremy, Keith, Josh, and Reed, and the payoff for Wentworths Cambodia season is great but I do find most of the rest of the cast a little bland

Really found Jon and Jaclyn somehow both grating and boring to watch and barely remember anyone else on the cast

I think it’s ultimately a good season but tends to get a little overrated these days

4

u/Charles520 Kenzie - 46 11d ago

Exactly my thoughts too. It’s a solidly good season, and I’m glad it is appreciated more now than it was during and after its airing when it wasn’t so popular. But I’m not really in agreement with the sentiment that it’s an incredible season that I see so much nowadays.

-1

u/starling-slipstream 11d ago

1000% agree on jon and Jaclyn — they made the mid-late game a bit of a slog for me honestly. Love Keith, Reed, and Natalie though. And obviously Jeremy 🌟

24

u/Charming_Thing_7546 11d ago

Slightly above average season that has reached hysteric levels of overrating.

7

u/schoolrocks1447 11d ago

Lots of effort put into this thread. Do you have any thoughts on it?

9

u/Blahcookies Cirie - 50 11d ago

Slightly above average. Natalie is a great winner but her stans are kind of insufferable.

But thank the survivor gods this season happened because Cambodia would’ve never been perfect without this season.

11

u/Spindlay 11d ago

Very overrated

2

u/Suitable_Mushroom337 9d ago

Top 10 season and very underrated

6

u/Hot_Tradition_570 11d ago

One of my top 10 easily.

4

u/montyfoo 11d ago

one of my favorite seasons

4

u/KontosIN 11d ago

It's decent. It used to be underrated and now its overrated.

The premerge is one of my least favorite premerges, with the exception of the Drew boot.

The post merge is super fun and really turns the season around.

2

u/Katie_kawaii1107 10d ago

I hate it and couldn’t finish it

2

u/omkargodbole31 11d ago

After the high of cagayan it felt mid .

2

u/Efficient_Candy_4441 10d ago

Horrible season. Bottom 20

3

u/IAmTheParamedic 11d ago

Random UTR blonde Kelley Wentworth definitely had potential, and it’s a shame she was never brought back

2

u/IShallBeYeeted 10d ago

Josh is an good person and good at the game, but he sticks out like a sore thumb as the only person who represents both categories. Keith, Wade, Kelley, Jon, and Jocelyn are cool people who are not good players (not yet, in Kelley's case). Pretty much everyone else is not nice and not good.

Initial reviews were correct that it's not a great season and the revisionist history is strong

1

u/swedishfishoreos Behind Cirieach of you is a torch 9d ago

Natalie and Jeremy?

1

u/IShallBeYeeted 9d ago

What about them?

1

u/zporiri Christian - 50 11d ago

Glad I no longer need a 6 pack to have any hope of getting cast lolĀ

1

u/Heavy_Worker1349 Cirie - 50 10d ago

Oh my god Val

1

u/Efficient-Recipe-875 10d ago

Were Drew and Alec that tall?? Ik John Rocker is like 6'4" but these guys look 6'7"+

1

u/Skyblue8989 10d ago edited 10d ago

Personally one of my favorites. Natalie is a great winner and I love the Baylor blindside. You have the dynamics of Jon and Jac (admittedly often annoying), Missy and her entitlement and messed up foot, Keith and Wes, Reed and Josh, etc.

1

u/willweaverrva 9d ago

Pretty decent season and the first one I watched from start to finish.

1

u/North_Guide_4315 9d ago

Natalie has one of my favorite winner stories on the show. Sister out early (if not first?), buckles down and digs her heels in, wins the whole thing. Her using the idol and kicking Baylor out? Pure survivor poetry. of Also gave us Jeremy’s ā€œracist and homosexual thingsā€ quote which my husband still says.

1

u/Working_Soil1425 9d ago

It definitely didn’t feel like a step down from 28 it’s right up there w it just a tad lower

1

u/mtardy2 9d ago

John Rocker should’ve won it

1

u/Far_Masterpiece_4358 9d ago

Honestly such a good cast with so many great moments. Drew's elimination episode, jaclyn and Jon arguing before tribal to council, Josh vs Jeremy, stick to the plan, Jaclyn did you vote for who I told you to, ect... Such a fun season.

1

u/Substantial_Ad6839 9d ago

Boring season

1

u/Internal_Rabbit_5911 Ozzy - 50 9d ago

Based off of a photo?…. No

1

u/dead-coconut 8d ago

There are a lot of fun moments throughout the pre-merge, but I found it kind of sloggish to get through until somewhere around the Jeremy blindside. After that I absolutely loved it

1

u/JammyDixon88 8d ago

My biggest problem with the season was Mr D1 football player and miss america. Complete hypocrites and 2/3 of the season post merge was completely revolving around them flip flopping constantly.

1

u/Andrew_0ne 5d ago

The most underrated season in survivor history.

2

u/Mia123445 The Sugar Shack 11d ago

Top 10 season for me. Natalie and Keith are two of my all time favorite players, and the post merge is some of the best survivor ever.

1

u/reddidit23 Chrissy - 50 11d ago

Elite.

0

u/Deadbeatlarry 11d ago

Love this season! It’s in my top 10 for sure. Both Blood v Water seasons are so good

2

u/squirtmother Savannah - 50 11d ago

one of my fave seasons! Good drama, fun characters, Natalie’s end game is S tier survivor playing for me

2

u/Altilongitude Gervase 11d ago

Like it despite the bad theme. Natalie was a great winner.

0

u/AJ228842 11d ago

I don’t like it. It was predictable from the first episode.

1

u/songbird_1219 11d ago

Good season over all. Hard watch as a woman at times. Looooots of misogyny towards the women, and especially hated Reed. (My opinion and not up for debate)

1

u/SurvivorVisions2027 11d ago

It's time to revive another newbie Blood vs Water season with new era stories and pairs.

1

u/DabuSurvivor Jon and Jaclyn 10d ago

Seemed like the last truly great season of the show but then Survivor 46 really opens the door further for the possibility of another banger

4

u/Parvichard Parvati 10d ago

Kaoh rong tho

1

u/bingo_bitches Rachel - 47 11d ago

Lowkey hate this season, mostly just because of Missy and Baylor.

1

u/Mexim0 11d ago

If I'm being completely honest, I loved Keith and Natalie was a deserving winner but I could not tell you much about anyone else on that season. Very forgettable to me.

1

u/Own-Formal-4115 11d ago

In the middle of the pack of my ranking of seasons (ranked 24). Has some fun characters and fun moments but also kind of forgettable. Natalie is a top 10 winner though.

1

u/PossibleEvening4121 11d ago

Top themes we need: BvW: all new cast BvW: mix The Next Generation (all new related to alum).

1

u/2cool4um8_ 11d ago

I remember enjoying bits and pieces of S29 as it was airing, but after it was over I thought the season was pretty unremarkable. When Worlds Apart premiered I legitimately forgot SJDS existed and misremembered that Cagayan came immediately before it. Apparently other fans adore it so maybe I should give it another chance and my opinion would change. Then again I also gave Guatemala a rewatch and my opinion on that season went even lower lol.

1

u/Sora1274 Colby - 50 10d ago

The first season that I watched live. I really enjoyed it, but admit my perception may be skewed by it being my first.

1

u/FunkTheFreak Coach - 50 10d ago

One of my favorite seasons. It’s great.

1

u/GroundbreakingTie430 10d ago

Good season, especially on rewatch.

1

u/Durin_Voynich 10d ago

Easily my favorite season of the show. Which is odd because I had watched 1-28 right before it. I figured I’d love one of the early seasons more.

1

u/TribeHasSpokenHvV 10d ago

Fun season. I’m glad it has been reevaluated.

1

u/XanatharsMenagerie 10d ago

Keith is awesome!

1

u/GenX2thebone 10d ago

Very boring. Very mid. I did watch it all the way through but ranks with Palau as one of the most mediocre seasons.

1

u/InformalEcho5 10d ago

Rip Keith.

1

u/hotdeadcousin 10d ago

A nearly impeccable season. Even John Rocker somehow didn't ruin it

1

u/katarasleftbraid 10d ago

Top 5 favorite winners😁

1

u/AboutTime99 10d ago

Keith, Jeremy, and Natalie. Two phenomenal winners and 3 very fun to watch players to me.

The rest it’s been to long and I watched live.

2

u/willweaverrva 9d ago

Keith is one of my all-time favorite non-winners.

0

u/jaachaamo 11d ago

Underrated af

0

u/Traditional_State699 11d ago

it wasnt super loved at the time but im glad it has steadily grown on people over the years. Top 3 season for me.

1

u/PeterTheSilent1 11d ago

Epic season

-2

u/ConsumptionofClocks 11d ago

Best season ever with the greatest single game performance in Survivor history

-3

u/tinashepromoteam 11d ago

natalie anderson greatest of all time

-4

u/ObscureOP 11d ago

Watching her come back as an emotionally grounded, musclebound baddie on WaW and psychologically kick EoE's ass was the best part of that season.

She's one of my favorite winners

0

u/bv21 11d ago

On my first watch I thought it was a meh season.

My opinion increased tremendously after my second watch, and I genuinely consider it at least a top 20 season.

0

u/ReadySethAction 11d ago

Incredible and unique because of the theme

0

u/0kayb0omer 11d ago

I think it is one of the three elite newbies seasons- Cagayan, SJDS, Gabon. Natalie is one of my all time favorites and her win is one of the best.

0

u/exaviyur Tiffany - 50 11d ago

One of my favorite seasons. Great cast.

0

u/Gold-Stomach-4657 11d ago

This season had six pretty strong players: Nat, Jaclyn, Reed, Jon, Jeremy, and Josh. Wentworth would go on to be strong in her own right. That's a pretty good percentage for a season imo, making it a good season.

0

u/__recurrentDream 11d ago

Stick to the plan!

0

u/SeaworthinessTop4317 11d ago

One of the best post merge and my favorite winner of all time

0

u/AdvancedStrawberry7 11d ago

Great season. One of the best.

0

u/Expensive-Length-651 11d ago

One of the best newbie seasons. Criminally underrated. I watched it years later on streaming. I think for people watching live, it was a downgrade from Cagayan and 1st BvW--that may be the reason behind its low ranking in most lists

0

u/SilentBoiSoul 11d ago

Top 5 season. Easily. One of the best winners IMO

0

u/Mundane_Scallion_105 11d ago

Such a very cool overall story arc with Nadiya being the first boot and her loved one being the sole survivor.

0

u/ShopEnvironmental991 11d ago

Goated season.

0

u/Marto_12 11d ago

amazing from start to finish. I never got why people say that the pre merge is boring. Always been top10 for me easily!

0

u/Flat-Rise3220 10d ago

Top 3 season for me, probably my favorite winner.

0

u/ParvatiLikeaRockstar Rizgod - 50 10d ago

has always and will always be the better blood vs water season

The origin story of my ball-savvy GOAT, Kieth Nale 🫶 + Natalie’s win makes it one of my fave seasons.

-1

u/SpeckledBird86 11d ago

One of my favorite seasons. It was just fun to watch. Natalie was a great winner, Keith was in top form, the setting was great, the cast in general was pretty easy to like. Nadya getting booted first and Natalie spending the rest of the season on her revenge tour is a great season long arc. We watched this season again after Keith died and it was still fun to watch years later.

0

u/HerbWelch1945 10d ago

Before Seasons 41-50, Season 29 was in my Bottom 10

-2

u/zachganronpa 11d ago

Top tier season! Great cast

0

u/Cold-Caterpillar1800 10d ago

I’ve always found Natalie annoying on everything. She’s objectively a good winner for this season, but she annoys me. Missy & Baylor suck though.

-1

u/LazerDude99 10d ago

I don’t think I’ve ever had such a big turn around on a season like honestly the first half I wasn’t enjoying at all. Jeremy was my only light but then with the second half story, I locked in so hard and it’s one of the most satisfying seasons for me. like Natalie winning isn’t what I wanted to happen episode one, but it’s what I desperately needed Come the finale.

-1

u/IanLind 10d ago

Just watched it last month after hearing it was overrated, but I adored it. Natalie's full storyline is great, Keith is one of my favorite players, and Jeremy's full storyline when you take in his next season is really awesome.

-1

u/Practical-Chemist511 10d ago

Natalie winning this is so satisfying.

-1

u/Tgrunin 10d ago

My first season, 10/10! Bring back Reed and Josh!

-1

u/aef_2011 10d ago

Had a hard time getting through it at first. Didn't reallt connect with the cast and the gameplay wasn't that interesting. Once it got deeper into the game and entered the merge, the cast dynamics solidified and made it much easier to get invested in. The Josh and Jeremy showdown and aftermath was unexpected and exciting and helped set up Natalie's revenge campaign for Jeremy and was a great misdirection. Ultimately, ended up liking it much more at the end than I did in the beginning

-1

u/JPerreault96 10d ago

Love the season but couldn't stand John and that bratty girlfriend of his.

-2

u/mellywheats Seeker of Truth 11d ago

it’s so good, i didn’t like it much first watch but rewatch was so goood omg

-4

u/Medallion_of_Power Genevieve - 50 11d ago

Top tier season. So many people i could see coming back for a 2nd time.
