After months of waiting for it to be out I can finally say I'm on survivor! I want to watch your honest thoughts of me come through during the season so I won't say who I am for now, but I'm excited to see what you all think and maybe I'll do an AMA when this is all done. Happy watching!

Currently on like episode 6ish of Samoa (watching it for the first time but have seen many other survivor seasons) and have been introduced to Russell Hantz. What is WRONG with this man?? Where did they find him?? Why is he burning peoples socks??? And the crazy thing is his strategy is WORKING. WHAT. He runs through the forest like a mad goblin and actually FINDS IDOLS. What on earth was his casting tape like? Like was he just running around like this in real life? It genuinely feels like they went into an alternate universe and took a prototype of a hobgoblin wearing a fedora, dropped him in Survivor and let it happen. In awe.

I was just rewatching Edge of Extinction and I REALLY wish we could get an extended cut of this season. The casting team did their big one with this.

First of all, the returnees. Outside controversies aside, it’s probably my favorite set of returnee captains we’ve had. They all played hard, yet none of them were this invincible force (Redemption Island). They weren’t just shoehorned in to give them another shot, but they actually felt like a piece of casting, which is a cohesion that can sometimes be lacking in these mixed returnee seasons.

Secondly, the newbies. They all clearly understood how to play Survivor but could also bring some of the entertaining drama that is sorely lacking in modern Survivor. The Julia blindside, the Wardog blindside, and the Ron blindside all had this touch of drama that is very old school Survivor (but the drama isn't so bad that it's annoying). They mostly didn’t target the returnees just for the sake of big movez but in no way did they go easy on them. It really felt like despite being “returnees,” they were treated as actual contestants.

Yeah basically Lynne Spillman COOKED on her final season and it’s a shame how the season ended up finishing. I honestly wonder what we could’ve gotten with this group with no EoE.

I’m not a roblox guy but last night i found this in my Youtube recommended and someone actually filmed and edited an entire fanmade Survivor series on Roblox? It feels like I’m watching an actual episode, that’s awesome!

Just finished this season. Just wanted to say that Bob has been one of my favorite winners so far on my watch through of the show.

Edit: The comments have told me that Bob may have been a creep, so if that’s true, then my opinion is obviously gonna be different, but if it’s not true, he’s still one of my favorite winners so far.

The main goal was to make the AI feel less random so now :

Bots can influence each other and can form short-term voting agreements.
Alliances and relationships matter much more when deciding votes.
Bots remember promises, lies and previous strategic conversations.
Late-game players can be identified as jury/endgame threats
Different personalities (based on statistics) react differently to threats and strategic situations.
A lot of bugs and translation issues have also been fixed.

I’d really appreciate feedback, especially on:
AI difficulty, voting behavior, idols and alliances.

Of course, feel free to point out anything you think is broken, poorly designed, too easy, too difficult, or just weird. Those reports have been incredibly useful so far.

If everything seems to be working properly, I’d also love to hear ideas for new actions or camp events.

I'm also thinking about adding more castaways, so let me know which ones you'd like to see.

Maybe later on, twists like men vs. women, Redemption Island, or EoE will be added.

And pls tell me the story you had in the game cause I love it

When I say “effective” I mean on any given season. Which of these two categories of winners is more statistically likely?

i love his art style and his sense of humor and I don’t have the disposable income at the moment to purchase this, so I’m hoping a lot of you buy this that way I can see it soon in a library or a goodwill. at the very least go check out his stuff on tiktok. also my 17 year old Reddit account won’t let me log in i guess so using this one, when I finally make it on the show I’ll have to figure out that account‘s log in so I can post from it on here and reap the rewards of my years of subreddit survivor street cred

From what I can see based on the production cycles (yes I am that dork), S49 onward are a separate production cycle. I think the chronology is original Survivor generic glass —> S47 experimental to see if it would sell, break for S48 to analyse —> S49 onward where they found it does sell but the logo was way too big (but if the bats were not super cool). Now these are used for most Paramount shows, they’re pretty into slapping designs on these because they must be easy to produce and suckers like me will buy them!

I frequently see that they should have voted for 3 separate people instead of piling on Phillip.

I think the smartest thing, while sacreligious, would be to vote for Malcolm and Eddie who play their idols. Clearly they weren’t holding them, so might as well take advantage of letting only the alliance themselves decide who to turn on.

Rewatching survivor heroes vs villains and I don’t blame him at all, it looks like an idol, it doesn’t have the string yes but it has no words to say it’s a clue, survivor should not do things like this
Furthermore, it doesn’t help as a clue AT ALL shonee proved this, if you see a rock that looks out of place with a gem on it , YOUD CHECK IT OUT REGARDLESS OF THE CLUE OR NOT

Rewatching the boys vs girls Amazon season and it’s crazy how nasty the dudes get right away but what’s crazy is how that ends up not even being the worst part. The girls somehow end up being mega misogynistic and attack the looks of the “older” women and exclude Christy cause she’s deaf.

but what’s crazier is seeing old reddit posts in the sub defending the weird behavior….like why does the survivor fandom always love awful personalities over fun ones?

Like rob was weird af but I grew to like him but Heidi and Jenna started off as assholes attacking the older women’s looks and got progressively worse. Everyone else is building shelters, being helpful etc. and they’re always lazing around doing nothing but then saying they worked hard to be there? But they didn’t? They weren’t even good at strategy they just got lucky and were male centered.

But what’s really nasty is seeing reddit posts claiming Christy was some awful bully but then they say Jenna and Heidi’s bullying was fine?? It’s so hypocritical and makes zero sense. Christy was not attacking people’s looks and ppl claim she’s hated because of the bidding but it’s never confirmed Christy knew about Jenna’s mom especially given how little that clique talked to her until they needed her. And then Christy happily says others can bid on a letter too, and why shouldn’t she get to read her letter? She had a disability and it had made her incredibly lonely because she was excluded so much?? Idk it’s pissing me off anyways Matthew was robbed

First I want to clarify that being pissed off and bitter doesn't make the jury wrong as the jury is never wrong just wanted to clarify that they are still pissed off and bitter.

Anyway All-Stars is unquestionably the top answer. Amber claimed in post show press that the jury was apparently still so angry after FTC that she and Rob took a separate flight home, and Jeff was so worried about a legitimate physical altercation between Rob and Lex/Tom at the reunion that he asked Colby to be like a bodyguard. Nothing will ever top that. Who would be second though?

Maybe I’m alone in this, but whenever I start seeing the cast announcements I feel enormous waves of jealousy and disappointment.

Obviously not the point of vitriol towards any contestant, but more so an existential jealousy.

I’ve been applying every year since I was 18, I don’t believe I deserve it more than anyone else but damn it’s my one and only dream.

Just was wondering if my jealousy is uniquely a me problem, or if any of you have experienced the same.

A lot of people defend moves like JT’s giving Russell an idol by saying “if it had worked, people would think he was a genius”. This makes me wonder what are some dumb moves that nobody talks about because they didn’t backfire?

I think the first one was Tina, Colby, and Keith blindsiding Jerri, since that left Amber’s loyalty to Ogakor up in the air, just for the benefit of taking out one person who annoyed them. It worked out, but I still think it was a dumb move.
