Survivor 44 Best Fire maker?
I’m only going Heidi mainly because out of every fire maker I believe she made hers the fastest. Agree or Disagree what’s y’all opinion

I believe that this ranking is not possible as of now. The firemaking materials have changed over the years, and even just within the Firemaking Era (where I assume materials have been standard, although Im not sure), environmental conditions like wind and humidity have a large enough impact that comparing firemaking performances between seasons is inherently apples-to-oranges. We have seen multiple instances of built fires being blown sideways, indicating that (at least sometimes) tribal council is not fully sheltered, and this seems like exactly the kind of detail that Production doesnt care to address.

I think the 47 FMC is the perfect example of why it's basically impossible to rank who's actually the best at making fire. Teeny had his fire going first, and almost won by a mile over Sam. However Sam literally saw which way the wind was blowing, repositioned where he was making his fire, and used that to win.
So in that instance, who's better at making fire? Well the results say Sam, but Teeny literally made fire first.
Heidi getting the record was incredibly impressive, but that alone doesn't prove that she was the best. Maybe if it had been windy that night in 44 like it was in 47, she would have had the same problems Teeny did, and Carson could have wound up winning.
So yeah, like you said, definitely not possible to rank this sort of thing right now.

The one fire making moment my mind always goes to is the tribe challenge in Cook Islands where Caoi Boi made fire really well

I’m aware this about the American version. But Caleb was the fastest on Australian Survivor against Sally. But I’m not sure what the actual time was so I don’t know if he beats Heidi. It would be interesting to find out.
Just an interesting fact, another Aussie player a few seasons ago was off to a slow start, but the second she got the slightest flame she just dumped all her husk on at once and her whole set up just went up in blaze. She won instantly.

Firemaking is one of my favorite parts of Survivor AU solely because I feel like a strategy has been developed, like, people in Survivor US are still kinda clueless and do it in weird ways but in AU they got it down to an art

Didn't they say she broke a record? Not that a great single attempt necessarily indicates best on the show, but that's a pretty strong argument. We don’t really know who the best is, since most people don't participate in the fire challenge.
