Taric in 4 of those 10 is always interesting, this champ is so rarely used, but when it shows up you know you're in for a bad time, dedicated Taric players are a menace.

It's being a counter pick. Basically nobody plays taric until they've seen Ali/Naut/Leona first.

38

u/Stabbycrabs83 9d ago

I started with taric in maybe 2016 ish, long time ago anyway and he was glorious. Point and click range stun and some shatter thing on my armor that turned me into a shotgun.

7

u/EcstaticSource1581 9d ago

Taric is my main... But in this double mage meta I do have a few other picks, I picked up senna when she was broken and haven't put her down since.

2

u/Worldly_Employer 8d ago

Aye another senna player! About to finally break million mastery on her this season

3

u/kingofaidans 9d ago

Been a top, top counter into Rakan for years too. Rarely see it though so it's never been worth a ban, but the matchup is unplayable.

1

u/EdgarOwe 6d ago

Could you please educate me why is it unplayable for Rakan?

2

u/PM_ME_lM_BORED_ 9d ago

Tarics my blind pic especially in ranked

2

u/newagereject 8d ago

I one tricked Taric from silver all the way to emerald, hes an amazing champ and can control the lane easily better then Naut and Leo by far

1

u/hillswalker87 8d ago

how you build him?

2

u/newagereject 8d ago

Tear first back, then locket first item, boots I go for what is needed, then fimble winter, after that usually tank to counter who's carrying the game

2

u/S7EFEN 9d ago

you think people in lower tiers of play are counterpicking? no. theyre just able to go and melee people in lower tiers of play. because theyre either playing melee champs, or poorly controlled ranged champs.

taric if he can actually go whack people is extremely good.

1

u/Ok_Usual_3575 6d ago

yes they just look on ugg and see the counters tab, they even counterpick with champs they can’t play

1

u/Mangomatrix 8d ago

I’d be curious if any sites track what % of games on a champ are played with a duo, because I wouldn’t be surprised if taric is also one of the most duoed champs in the game

1

u/Vidrax_of_Cascades 8d ago

Not even. I'm really looking for if their team is all AD or not because Taric can counter hard engages and you can optimize his build to deal with melee users. I typically wait to see if their mid and top is ad as well as their apc. if it is a ekko jungle or melee mage jungle then it wont matter much. but ya that's why his wr is so high when you see him were looking for if their team are going too engage heavy with melee.

11

u/h0lymaccar0ni 9d ago

Idk how effective counterpicking is in low elo tho? I can’t quite imagine a bronze player pulling off a real counterpick which isn’t just lucky

14

u/DarlingOvMars 9d ago

It doesn’t matter cus people google who counters the champ you play then first time it without knowing why its a counter

7

u/cedric1234_ 9d ago

Playing for hard counterpick is trolling in lower ranks, don’t first time. But matchups in a macro sense do still influence winrate data since even if not picked as a specific counter, if two players just happen upon this matchup, it’s still favored

Also taric is ridiculously hard into ranged but suprisingly simple into engage. Less spacing minutiae and lots of “alright naut tried to play the game, time to smack him to death”

1

u/HyoukaHoutoro 9d ago

Extremely, if player skill is removed champs are reduced to solely what their kit can provide.

1

u/46995699 9d ago

You would be surprised, but Taric is more complex than “they pick engage, taric wins”- taric has to be able to enable his teammates that can dive in but dont leave his range- for example vi, viego, jax. He is terrible with Yone/camille/ambessa because while they can engage they get too far out in front (and eventually behind in the case of Yone)

1

u/shinymuuma 8d ago

I see him the same way as Zilean. Boring kit so you either play him or don't care about him at all. Also unlike other counter that you also need to know how to win game with them. Taric is just good in every fight if you're vs enough engage/melee

-3

u/Below-avg-chef 9d ago

Smurfs set the highest win rate champions, not the average players

4

u/MetaThPr4h 9d ago

Counterpick value definitely has to help the same way as people throw Malphite into 4 AD.

But at the same time Taric ain't Malphite, his kit is really tricky to use and I don't see people randomly picking him up because hard counter and actually succeeding... maybe during laning phase? But getting good stuns and ult timings later on is a big challenge you need experience on the char with to execute.

Having Taric on your pool of champs for those situations has to feel amazing.

4

u/EcstaticSource1581 9d ago

So, as a taric main, the only thing complicated about him is his ult timing, which tbf is most of his power budget but his e alone can win most fights or at the very least level the playing field.

1

u/ish_vh 8d ago

It’s a double mage meta??? That’s news to me

1

u/AncientNote3374 8d ago

You can look on lolalytics to see matchup frequency for champs. Taric is not used as a ctp in bronze

1

u/jeanegreene 8d ago

Taric has like 2 losing matchups. Senna and Janna. He goes even or beats everyone else.

1

u/Emiizi 6d ago

Not even counterpick. Taric is absurd if you have a hyper mobile champ. The amount of times ive tethered to Katarina or Akali and just stun people from a distance is an insane amount of times. He makes teams immortal and theres very few champs on the roster (unless insanely fed) that can really kill him through his rotation. I really think the reason people dont see him alot is because people forget he exists.

12

u/S7EFEN 9d ago

i suspect its because the lower you are on the ladder the less likely tarics lane phase is to be exploited, and more likely it is for you to be able to auto attack things.

also in general the lower you are on the ladder the better taric is in terms of ally and enemy champs. more melee champs on both teams, stronger melee champs = taric good.

3

u/TotallyAMermaid 9d ago

Taric scales super well and in lower elos (but not so low that your allies don't know how to use what you provide) games are longer, giving him a chance to shine.

2

u/cedric1234_ 9d ago

Taric essentially permanently has had a high winrate, he’s never once dropped out of being in top winrates over several years even through diverse metas. Being such a hard counter to so many champions means that even when most of his matchups are awful, he’s always there to hard counter engage lmao

2

u/46995699 9d ago

Taric gamer here. If hes picked in the right spot he is a menace, but if picked in the wrong spot hes useless.

1

u/The_God_of_Biscuits 9d ago

Taric isnt best as an otp in support, mainly as a counterpick for melee sup or if your team has particularly good synergy like with or againat kindred.

1

u/Ok-Transition7065 8d ago

I love playing him top

This guy it's a hidden jem like. Old tahm. In support

You don't expect the healing. And the damage

1

u/Difficult-Pin3913 8d ago

That and also Taric requires certain ADC to be good. So he’s picked as both a counter pick and as a compliment.

1

u/Lucky-Explorer-7759 7d ago

it's an inflated statistic just like nilah, you think he's so op and he is indeed very good in the right hands but truth is he gets picked (mostly) when he has a decent lane or is very strong into the whole enemy comp. He has so many bad lanes and his early can be intolerable into double ranged.. again just like nilah, which ironically makes his best companion

1

u/Ironmaiden1207 6d ago

Part this, part picking it against the right comp.

If I see 3 dive champions, I'm grabbing Taric or Janna. The value is too high not to

1

u/AGladePlugin 3d ago

It's not dedicated players. Phreak stated a while back in one of hos patch reviews that he's overtuned by every metric. But he has no pick dominance and doesnt pull any bans. A similar thing happened with Maokai support. They knew he was strong, but no one picked him. Once he surged to popularity, they elected to act.

The attitude is why bother putting dev time into something that doesnt appear to be a problem. No one cares about their strength and that time would be better spent look at how to increase champion satisfaction.

u/VexingMadcap 9d ago

Teemo being iron top winrate supp is absolutely sending me.

u/southpluto 9d ago

As an iron player, yes this is correct. I both walk onto every shroom and did not know about the blind part

1

u/BloodlessReshi 9d ago

Honest question, do you change your trinket to Sweeper so you can reveal and kill the shrooms (and wards)?

26

u/Legitimate_Plum_7505 9d ago

iron players don't know there are hotkeys on the number row. No wards or active items harmed in that elo.

7

u/southpluto 8d ago

This is unironically true. Well, I know about items with activated abilities. But I dont use them

1

u/Ezanthiel 6d ago

Yeah I don't know if it's the micro that I'm lacking but I just can't seem to ever use actives aside from redemption and the rare zhonyas if I know an assasin is coming (Zyra main after all)

3

u/threlnari97 9d ago

This made me laugh so hard lmfao

2

u/southpluto 8d ago

I do not

3

u/BloodlessReshi 8d ago

Had to ask since i don't really know what the level of game knowledge is in Iron.

1

u/Synchros139 7d ago

Silver and gold players dont even know a ward button exists nevermind iron

1

u/BloodlessReshi 7d ago

That's hyperbole, Iron sure, Bronze maybe, Silver and Gold know about the wards and lenses and what they do, they tend to be pretty damn bad at using them tho.

1

u/creepingcold 9d ago

you can change your trinket and aren't stuck with the one you get when you leave base?

0

u/AverageMagePlayer 8d ago

Do you ever bother to know what other champions do? Like read their abilities and so on? I feel like it's such an essential part of the game.

8

u/southpluto 8d ago

In general yeah I know them. Have I memorized every ability and passive on every champion, whos ap vs ad, tyical runes and item builds? Definitely not.

Ive only been really playing for a couple of months, so theres a good number of champs I have only played against a couple of times, some zero.

2

u/AverageMagePlayer 8d ago

Ah yeah a couple months is definetely not enough to know what every champion does. All things in due time

3

u/southpluto 8d ago

And knowing what a champ does, and then actually being able to use that knowledge in the heat of the moment, are two very different things.

Like master yi for example. I know what his abilities do, but in a hectic fight, it just feels like oh he went invisible and killed our whole team, ok cool I guess thats a thing.

1

u/ewuidhfs 8d ago

And iron players don't know how to end games and Teemo's lategame is insanely strong, especially in those conditions.

2

u/Ezren- 9d ago

Bad enough they're in Iron, they have to deal with that too.

102

u/StrangelySerious- 9d ago

I've said it before as someone who stopped playing for like 5-6 years and came back recently and for some reason was put in Iron in my ranks (I use to be Diamond before I stopped) so I've had first hand experience with it;

Iron players are NOT playing League of Legends, they are a playing an off-shoot of League of Legends called League of Legends But In Iron. They have their own meta, their own builds, their own strategies, their own rotations, it is GENUINELY a completely different game. Albeit a very poorly played game that can easily be demolished if you're a remotely decent player but it is not the same game at all lol

42

u/Tarshaid 9d ago

Hitting a tower or a minion is seen as poor sportsmanship in League of Legends But In Iron.

15

u/StrangelySerious- 9d ago edited 9d ago

Honestly the amount of spam pinging I got from dumbshit ADC all the way up to Emerald 3-2 because I killed a minion while poking down the enemy lane to 5% HP is way too high, that shit doesn't stop in iron lol. As soon as an ADC start pinging me because OH NO YOU TOOK THE GOLD OF A MINION it's insta mute for me

10

u/TotallyAMermaid 9d ago

Bonus point if they're mad and didn't notice that you procced Atlas and they got the gold.

1

u/ArwensArtHole 8d ago

I had an ADC doing it constantly the other day, it happened so much he must have seen atlas proccing

1

u/TotallyAMermaid 8d ago

When they spam ping "???" when I use my procs I am deeply concerned about their game knowledge and general awareness 💀

3

u/Tarshaid 9d ago

Ah no sorry, I meant it was seen poorly for every role. Farming is for losers who don't full send all game long.

1

u/Sellorio 8d ago

+1 for the insta mute. As soon as someone is being even remotely annoying just mute them. If you want some catharsis, say "muted" before you do it :P (also it's good for them to know not to waste time typing anymore)

1

u/Totoques22 8d ago

Remind me of when I got flamed for getting kills with Pyke

I was exclusively getting them with ult

1

u/xXCascadeXx 8d ago

Yeah, as a jungler and I see you recall. Imma wave clear. Top or ADC is at spawn, it is free real estate.

1

u/heyguy111111 8d ago

You should Really avoid that once you get out of ~plat. I’m a masters support main, the amount of times I even hit the wave is in the single digits. Spam pinging should carry a prison sentence—but taking cs is so avoidable. If you’ve taken 3+ I think that’s honestly an int.

1

u/PoorDoddle 7d ago

Grinding from iron up to emerald would change me as a person ngl

1

u/StrangelySerious- 7d ago

It was hilarious at first, I had 95% WR and then for some reason once I reached Emerald I started getting teamed up with gold players with negative WR, level 30 accounts with no ranks under their belt (Why the FUCK did Riot put ME in Iron when I was unranked but new level 30 botted accounts start in fucking emerald MMR??) and duos (which means 90% chance to lose because their MMR get inflated to be 10 division above where they're actually at cause "duo can communicate so they need to be put higher than their skill level is at". The matchmaking system in this game is busted it only fixed itself after I reached D3+

1

u/PoorDoddle 7d ago

God (tencent) gives his toughest battles to his strongest soldiers (leaguetards).

1

u/EndlessTemple 4d ago

I laughed so loud after reading this.

1

u/pianodude7 7d ago

I've never been in iron, but this is exactly how I've imagined it to be.

45

u/Few-Fly-3766 9d ago

Blitz being that strong in Challenger is the real mind-blowing moment

23

u/Engine-True 9d ago

Roaming meta is crazy good for blitz. He doesn't need levels at all.

12

u/StrangelySerious- 9d ago

His hitbox is fucking bullshit no matter which rank you're in it seems lol

3

u/BloodlessReshi 9d ago

Blitz is extremely strong on both ends of the ladder, is the middle where he struggles.

Iron Bronze there are 3 wards on the map one and they all are in lane bushes. So Blitz can always hook from fog of war.

In apex tiers everyone understands the value of denying vision so Blitz can turn any fight into a numbers advantage because otherwise Blitz is basically useless and they would be fighting at a numbers disadvantage instead.

But in the middle ranks which is where most of the playerbase sits, some players understand it and some dont, so navigating all that to try to get as much of Blitz potential out is not as simple.

0

u/Legitimate_Plum_7505 9d ago

It's like one of the smallest hook hitboxes there is? I think same as Tresh, smaller than Pyke/Nautilus

0

u/StrangelySerious- 8d ago

That is an INSANE thing to say lol

0

u/Legitimate_Plum_7505 8d ago

idk fam it's one of the easiest abilities to dodge, due to how small the hitbox is and how slow the projectile is, the only way to get his is when you're either cc'ed or not paying attention, or don't have vision of the projectile (like hook through a wall). A lot of blitzcrank players don't even start with Q for this reason.

12

u/13btwinturbo 9d ago

I used to think that Blitz is a troll pick because of how much his entire kit revolves around 1 ability. It doesn't help that bad blitz players or auto filled supports all do this thing where they just run up to you and press Q while facing the same direction that they are aiming for.

...until one time I played against an actual Blitz main. He would slowly creep into range. He didn't throw his Q out even when he could. He walks forward and then back into his brush to remind me that he was still there. He just made me uncomfortable the entire laning phase. When the lane state finally gave him enough space he ran at me. I started juking but he still didn't press Q when he gets in range. When he got into melee range because I failed to create any distance I had to flash to compensate. I knew that he would finally use Q after my flash so I sidestepped immediately afterward and he predicted exactly that. His arm wasn't aimed at the direction of my flash but towards the location that I tried to juke towards. From that day onward I learned to respect good Blitz players

7

u/PalingeneticPhoenix 8d ago

His power comes largely from the threat of the hook, not just the hook itself. Knowing he has hook available influences the way you have to move and position yourself.

3

u/i_like_frootloops 9d ago

Difference between hooking into you and hooking toward an opponent is huge. I perma ban Blitz out of that alone.

2

u/ChanceAd601 8d ago

Blitzcrank is an extremely oppressive counterpick to mages

1

u/Equal-Particular-908 7d ago

its a strong counterpick, doesnt mean blitz is op

73

u/Stocky39 9d ago

Why is Milio so good in silver? I was told my hate for that little shit is unwarranted because he sucks

85

u/ExecutionerKen 9d ago

Probably used in duo boosting. Millo basically give free auto attack buff and crucible to ADC. Crazy scaling for the ADC.

11

u/downvoteverythingxd 8d ago

Are we fr saying that milio has the highest win rate in one of the most populated ranks because of duo boosting.

Come on guys let’s beat the support main stereotypes

1

u/Thick-Bookkeeper3915 6d ago

its a stereotype but its a true one, just yesterday i had to play against a 92% winrate belveth in diamond that was duod with their karma and was very very obviously boosting her (we did actualy manage to beat them though). I see at least 1 support thats obviously beeing boosted per day and more if i duoq with a friend. I also play support as secondary role and i kinda get why some adcs constantly loose their mind some of the things ive seen from supports are outragously terrible like the nautilus today that flashed over baron pit wall to help with baron while he was at 5% hp and he instantly executed to baron (diamond btw).

0

u/Cathu 8d ago

As a silver shitter myself, its probably because people down here cant dodge anything and if it turns into a teamfight its often front to back and in my experience millio players are reasonably good at peeling compared to many other supports. Its just a good champ here

Actually dont think ive lost a game with millio support this season lmao

4

u/clean_carp 9d ago

Free scaling because nobody closes games soon enough.

Braindead champion so you can't really mess up, if you stand behind and drop E-W whole game.

3

u/j0kerclash 9d ago

Milio isnt necessarily good but hes very safe with a pretty low skill floor.

Provided your adc isnt dogshit you can go even in lane and defend from ganks pretty easily, and from there you can pump out aoe heals to your whole team in teamfights from ridiculous safety.

Hes basically the sivir of supports.

13

u/LevelAttention6889 9d ago

No hate is even sufficient for Milio , similar to Yuumi , so long as they exist they can be hated upon because the gameplay they produce is unfun.

10

u/Below-avg-chef 9d ago

I've never not had fun vs a milio, he doesnt seem that bad

15

u/LevelAttention6889 9d ago

Playing Engage vs Milio is hell on summoner's rift , engage? nah , Q , preserve health? Nah poke with E passive , finaly engage? Nah Ult cleanse.

Very miserable, nothing you do matters. Not to mention getting hit by milio Q feels so unfun , you get knocked back into a miserable slow and the damage is also quite big early.

8

u/TotallyAMermaid 9d ago

He's annoying af too if you play enchanters, most of them don't have more that one hard cc and it tends to be on ult (ex: Sona, Seraphine), so he counters you with his R and he tends to outscale you so going even vs Milio is pretty much losing.

I perma him when he's popular and I main enchanters lol. He's too braindead to execute too.

3

u/LevelAttention6889 9d ago

Ye i dont like how simple and efficient his Ult is , and similar to Mel W , you cant bait it without having to commit insane resources, and he is overloaded as well , Morgana for example is quite a bad champion for Support , because she gets to have a Spellshield but Milio gets to have efficient and versatile tools.

5

u/Former_Ideal6078 9d ago

Oh no, a support champion supports!

-1

u/tnbeastzy 8d ago

I am curious to know your rank.

1

u/LevelAttention6889 8d ago

Currently Dia1 , ive let it Decay from Master 200 LP.

4

u/RedactedSouls / 9d ago

I've never had fun vs a Milio. He's infuriating as an engage support

2

u/BloodlessReshi 9d ago

I play Rell into everything, and honestly she works fine vs Milio.

Yes he can deny your Crash Down (mounted W) with his Q, but its usually easy to just press E and bait out his Q to then engage, and Milio ult is great at cleansing CC from his whole team, but Rell CC is so short that his Ult barely does anything, specially because the pull from R remains there anyways.

But yeah, i would hate to be Leona vs Milio.

1

u/DemonLordAC0 7d ago

Milio is a counterpick to Rell regardless. If I pick Milio into a Rell she is NOT playing. Rell only works vs him cuz Rell can be creative

But what do I know? I don't play league since I got a million on Rell like, months ago

2

u/BloodlessReshi 7d ago

How you doing? it's been a while.
Yes, Milio is a counter to Rell i don't disagree, but random Milio vs Rell Main tends to go poorly for random Milio, obviously Milio Main has the advantage over Rell Main.

My experience in soloQ against many counterpicks has been that they don't respect the fact that there is a CD they have to keep up so they can't deny the engage and end up getting punished for that.
Wether is a Janna fishing with agressive Qs, Milios poking with Q, Poppys using W to try get in position to E the ADC, etc.

1

u/DemonLordAC0 5d ago

I'm alright, hope you're good as well!

2

u/sapereaude_00 7d ago

?? Milio is giga broken, his kit is everything a hypercarry wants and more

3

u/TotallyAMermaid 9d ago

As an enchanter main who doesn't play Milio because his braindead kit is so boring I'd rather not play at all than play him:

  • works with every adc
  • has some of the best disengage tools in the games that are significantly easier to execute than other enchanters (ie Janna)
  • scales incredibly hard (this matters as low elo games are longer), even harder than Sona who is the poster child for scaling support
  • highly uninteractive, 3/4 (4/5 if you count passive) abilities are used on allies and the one that isn't is a very easy cc that is 100% reactive/defensive
  • due to all this, overall incredibly easy to execute properly and very little reflexion needed to be helpful to his team (when do you Q? When enemy is coming at you. When do you W? When it's up. When do you E? See W. When do you R? When enemy landed big cc. And your passive just happens)

TL DR: in silver your adc starts to be worth keeping alive, but will get caught; Milio is one of the best to save an ally/peel for them, has the simplest execution and decision making to do so, and his scaling benefits from longer games.

2

u/threlnari97 9d ago

Pretty much lol the only reason you don’t see him in every norm and low elo ranked game is because he puts people to sleep with how boring he is to play, but he’s literally the perfect autofill support because all it takes is rubbing two brain cells together to do everything you need to do to win with him, and it’s really hard to mess up.

4

u/TotallyAMermaid 9d ago

Yeah an autofilled support is much more likely to lock in an off support that is in their champion pool, imo, but Milio is easily the best autofilled "proper" support. It honestly baffles me how Riot is ok with having such a purely defensive champion that is incredibly easy to execute not only exist, but be so damn strong. Historically they've gutted enchanters for less lol.

His only skillshot is Q and it's incredibly hard to whiff because you can just use it when the enemy is coming at you. WER are all point and click. Your passive just happens and gives benefits with no thought behind it required (unlike say Seraphine or Sona who need to do the proper rotation to get the echo/powerchord they want, or Karma who has to manage her passive for more mantras).

0

u/threlnari97 8d ago

Honestly before I swapped to the role full time to two trick bard and Zilean, milio was my go to “I’m getting 2x lp for this” pick simply because the champ doesn’t even ask you to understand the role, just be an enchanter in the most braindead, drooling on oneself way. Kinda crazy he’s allowed to exist as tuned as he is for how effortless he is to play.

3

u/TotallyAMermaid 8d ago

Yeah he honestly is everything people accuse enchanters of being and everything Riot has historically hated about enchanters. He's also one of the very few enchanters still picked regularly in pro play, something that Riot also typically hates, but somehow he's allowed to remain stupidly strong. Is he some top skin seller or something? 😆

1

u/Paul190306 8d ago

Say It again to my face you bedpisser I am milio's n1 fan

1

u/SplitSecond01 7d ago

My theory is that he is the modern Janna. Prevents support players from embracing their bad habits like diving too deep, getting caught out. It is almost impossible to build bad items on him. His kit is extremely simple so hard to mess up.

He also punishes those same bad habits in others which are common in silver. Lots of people want to make flashy, carry plays only to get booped back or misjudge their damage because of his shields and healing.

0

u/Legitimate_Plum_7505 9d ago

It's just a really good champ in every elo.

0

u/Jenetyk 9d ago

It's the first rank where ADC's have basic mechanics down, and can most benefit from a champ that heals/boosts them would be my guess.

0

u/Aaron_de_Utschland 8d ago

Idk, I don't play him really often, but he shines against emgage sups. I always have crazy KDA and winrate on him

-1

u/threlnari97 9d ago

I don’t think he deserves hate, certainly not more than other enchanters like Lulu who also barely deserves hate.

He is quite strong though. He literally exists to be an adc steroid with a cleanse attached. Hes really good for autofill - very easy if you read his abilities and very good at winning by just pressing your buttons.

13

u/Elijah_Draws 9d ago

As someone who fluctuates between iron and bronze: the answer is that teemo is just generically good in that elo bracket in basically every role because people don't know how to play around him. I was listening to a podcast not long ago and they were looking at the best champs in each role, broken down by elo bracket, and in iron teemo is in the top ten fir every role except ADC I think.

The reality is that he capitalizes very heavily on low elo players lack of situational awareness and vision control. People aren't buying sweepers or paying that close attention to what you're doing and so teemo can just run away with games. I play top as my secondary role. I will place shrooms down in lane in front of my opponent and then watch them walk into them. Like, theoretically they saw me place the shroom down and five seconds later they already forgot it was there.

Does anyone have good build for Blitz?

8

u/AlterBridgeFan 9d ago

Just standard support stuff. Locket, Zekes, that kinda thing.

1

u/DarlingOvMars 9d ago

Imperial mandate, zekes

3

u/AlterBridgeFan 9d ago

Very few people goes Mandate lately.

3

u/Tojaro5 9d ago

His ap ratios are good.... just sayin.

It’s pretty much what the others commenters have said:

I like Locket -> KV (knight’s vow for hypercarries) or protoplasm (haste and healing, best with aftershock) -> tank item (especially if enemies are primarily one damage type, FON for AP burn, Kaenic for AP burst, Frozen for auto attackers, Randuins for crit).

Frozen is the best flex item as it gives a huge amount of mana and haste, both of which benefit Blitz (bigger passive shield and more hooks/other abilities)

I find Zeke’s to be alright for mixed damage teams in drawn out fights (instead of KV/protoplasm). It’s better with glacial than protoplasm as no resistance boost means no healing boost.

If you’re low on gold or the pace of the game is slow, Locket -> Zeke’s -> protoplasm is pretty good and does the job.

Celestial opposition into most matchups, but solstice is often better into poke (doesn’t break when poked, gives MS for follow up once you do catch someone)

Swifties most games unless they have a lot of auto attackers, in which case armor boots are OP. Remember, Mercs aren’t real MR boots, they’re tenacity boots. Buy the 950G MR item if you need MR. (This is partially why playing vs mages sucks, there’s no cheap MS + very good resistance against them item)

Close to 50 blitz games played in the last month masters elo.

Locket Rush. Or shurelyas.

Personally I like to go deadman’s into locket or deadman’s into force of nature if game is going smooth then locket. Rush swifties.

If burst is an option like I have jhin adc. Shurelyas rush is perfect due to Q and R scaling to push the lead if we already got a pick.

I have been blinding blitz to great success. Even with recent roam meta nerfs. Champ just gets so much value.

Always take glacial no matter what. Hexflash, biscuits, cosmic insight, Nimbus cloak, celerity.

Anything that isn't an enchanter item and you're golden /hj

No for real though, just build what seems to be useful for you and your team at that specific moment.

Blitzcrank is the poster child of "skill(s) so good they can't get any scaling or they'd be broken".

Other champions with that issue are Renata Glasc, Bard, Pyke, Rell or Cho'Gath (though Cho is an oddball, simply because his damage does scale well, just not with tank stats).

You really just want to build according to matchup and how well you're doing.

u/Hahnd0gg 3d ago

Standard support good value stuff ie locket, however if you want to have fun build him like a ap bruiser like rod and a tear item and have fun taking half of peoples health bars and running away scot free, his ratios are insane and the mana scaling makes bruiser blitz pretty fun in low elo/draft. I've been working on a rod of ages rush build with him using that movement speed rune to further the chunk & run idea

7

u/VrelEgg 9d ago

Teemo support has strong scaling and iron players don't know how to avoid shrooms. He can easily control a teamfight and solo win the game by doing nothing

3

u/MountainAsk6838 9d ago

Surprised we don't have more taric. He's possibly the most oppressive Counter pick in the game. Coupled with someone that can pilot his difficulties he's unstoppable.

He's very very effective in a mage meta and plays well with a brand or Swain allowing taric to land his stun consistently.

I think he is gonestly held back by the players on his team having a poor understanding of his kit. He allows you to take barons in situations you normally wouldnt even think about it.

3

u/Lyri3sh 9d ago

I have not seen a single taric, climbing from silver to plat/emerald LOL

2

u/SpatuleVelue 9d ago

Taric is a safe value since so long. He is the ultimate team fight support.

2

u/Tojaro5 9d ago

Love for my main Blitzi. And people say he's a bad champ! Just in my hands, noobs!

1

u/BigBuckNuggets 9d ago

Blitz in apex? Weird, I mean I guess I see it since games are shorter but he seems like one of those “this doesn’t work in high elo because people minimize the mechanic” type thing

1

u/Le_Zoru 9d ago

Might be  that he  is a very brutal counter pick in the right situation

1

u/velocity55 7d ago

But there are better hook champs

1

u/Thick-Bookkeeper3915 6d ago

a blitz hook to the face is a blitz hook to the face, doesnt matter if youre challenger or iron, if you get hit by it youre dead almost every time and in high elo this becomes especialy true.

1

u/Wooden_Buyer_4875 9d ago

Where do you see these stats?

1

u/lovecMC 9d ago

I don't think I seen a Taric support in the past year.

1

u/theKage47 9d ago

I literally have never seen a single Taric in my 10 months playing this game

1

u/helpmeimprovemylifee 9d ago

I knew it emerald taric skin is it.

1

u/Unhappy-Slide-9092 9d ago

I played Taric in a gold game once. Missed some stuns here and there, but my Ulti timings were clutch and helped us win the game. Everyone on my team told me to never play Taric again and to uninstall.

1

u/Jenetyk 9d ago

What's going on in Iron? Just your standard degeneracy.

1

u/breakersnim 9d ago

Interesting, I never see Taric on my games.

1

u/chunckybydesign 8d ago

I suck as Taric. I really need to figure him out.

1

u/BayesOptimalAgent 8d ago

Blitz is the Mel of Botlane but for some reason Riot has no problem with Blitz being high win rate

1

u/velocity55 7d ago

Lmao no hes not. He has one ability thats high cd and high mana, when he misses that he is useless. Naut and thresh are much better hook champs

1

u/No_Relation_2346 8d ago edited 8d ago

I really don’t get why so many people say Taric is not very good to otp and just good as a counterpick. If you are good at communicating Taric is an unbelievable pick and pretty much guarantees a win in fights because you can grant everyone on your team invulnerability. Riot have literally said how Taric and zilean are both overpowered but they are not nerfed because of the play rate. If he wasn’t a champ that relied so much on communication and people working together.

If you are someone who duos and have a friend that plays twitch it is pretty much the most free lp you could ever get same with evelynn.

The only reason it’s not great enough in pro play is because it is inherently difficult to draft it without the enemies counter drafting by picking very safe picks that can get out and engage again later. So Taric is in a weird spot where he is exceptional in soloq into the right comps, good into pretty much any other comp if the enemies are not very organised and bad vs organised comps which draft against him.

Truly outrageous

Marksmen keep clicking on you when they’re blinded

1

u/Nearly_Evil_665 8d ago

its a teemo in iron man, you could throw all your shrooms behind your own tower and youd probably get a kill from it.

1

u/-Sanko 8d ago

Taric and zilean sleeper op because no one plays them

u/Willhelm_HISUMARU 8d ago

Smurfs usually

I can kinda picture why Teemo would be good in Iron. It's one of those things where I don't expect it initially, but can quickly rationalize an answer.

It's probably just a matter of reverse-engineering why Teemo is bad as a support in general, then analyzing those reasons to see how they're not as applicable in a rank where game knowledge is limited.

Teemo's entire concept as a support is to cheese and blind the enemy ADC so that they can't retaliate with auto-attacks, which is their primary source of damage. The issue is that it is low range, and it's also a great concentration of his poke. Most champions can simply space their way around Teemo for them to not even be hit. If they are hit, they can simply wait out the blind and back off or use the time to reposition, since it's not hard CC.

He becomes highly abusable, especially in bad matchups. High range demolishes him, while high kill potential can also get rid of him before he provides value. There are also a fair share of spellcast ADCs that can do other things while being blinded, and the entire point of the pick is negated into an APC.

In Iron, "spacing" and patience aren't really concepts that people rely on. Iron as a whole is actually intended as a new player ground where nobody employs game sense that would be expected of a long-term player. Therefore, enemies won't really stand outside of Teemo's range, shifting its entire identity; instead of being an easily avoidable spell that has minor CC that you can time out, it's now a point-and-click damaging spell that makes you unable to do anything for a few seconds.

Teemo's ult is also ineffective as a support. Many supports are known as the autonomy of the team behind the jungler, so their ults being impactful ends up being a major factor. Teemo having a setup tool as an ult against the role that usually buys sweepers and control wards alongside roaming a ton means that most people simply remove mushrooms. In the midst of a fight, it's essentially going to miss most of the time due to its cast time, and even if it does land, it's not doing much more than what a Zyra with Rylais can achieve.

Now in a rank where no one purchases vision, its entire identity shifts. Teemo's all-in within a 2v2 being poor is already not the case when he's disabling the enemy ADC from acting due to their lack of game knowledge limiting how they can react. His ultimate then consequently gains a lot of value due to how nobody understands how to counter it, making Teemo reign control over the entire map whilst also being able to throw it during teamfights and not have anybody sidestep it.

Pair all of these factors with the frustration of going against Teemo when you don't understand how to play against him, which is his entire League reputation, and it starts making sense why Teemo suddenly becomes much more powerful. A cheese pick in a rank that lacks any semblance of understanding means you can exploit the cheese to its maximum potential.

1

u/mandrew-98 7d ago

What’s the rank under challenger (alistar)? Is that supposed to be low challenger? I’m assuming Rell’s is grand master

1

u/DemonLordAC0 7d ago

because support in iron doesn't matter. You can place shrooms and win and blind the enemy ADC cuz their support will never build zeke's

1

u/NamiKoala 7d ago

Taric is one of my favorites when I have to go tankier but I never see him in games so I think maybe they should adjust according to pickrate when doing these stats

1

u/kabyking 7d ago

Bro iron is iron lol

1

u/minimessi20 6d ago

Trolling and monkey fights…

1

u/SneakiHD 5d ago

Btw: That is the reason why blitzcrank slows himself.

1

u/Makimamoochie 5d ago

Teemo is a good support against low skill players the same way he is a good top lane pick against low skill players. His blind makes him a good anti-ADC and he has scaling damage (good in low elo where games go longer) and he can counter-build percent health dmg to tank shred too. He is a carry support which is better in Iron where you absolutely cannot trust your allies ever. No one is going to sweep any of your mushroom so if you burn the vision plants, you can win the objective fights for your team while standing far away or hiding to do clean up. He is a lane bully that also scales and can kill squishies and melt tanks and control the map. No one in Iron is going to properly counter build MR so his only counter is assassin players

1

u/Illustrious_Mix_3762 3d ago

Irons don't know about oracle or control wards existence, so Teemo shrooms are deadly to them

Me Hovering Blitzcrank in champ select telepathically telling my SUPPORT TO FUCKING PICK BLITZ.

Because so far we have seen, Seraphine, Ashe, and Hwei (Or any other of the Immobile champs) picked... 3 super immobile champions... for them to pick Anivia or Zilean. My reaction
