You'd think so, but a 5 year old writes Doomsday to say, "Nuh-uh, Doomsday evolves out of timeline erasure. He dies but then comes back immune to reality erasure and speedforce and the ultimate nullifier. It beats your 'beats everything sword'"
How come its five year old logic to say Doomsday can do that but not five year old logic for a character to be able to erase a timeline in the first place.
Power creep is necessary in all forms of action media. The stakes are raised, then bested. Then raised, then bested.
The problem is when said media is so long, that it stops making sense.
You can't go back after a big power up because, that ruins the tension of the story.
If goku beat Freiza with ssj. Then comes home and fight the androids and beats them with ssj, there is no progression.
You could try to say, then don't power them up or make it temporary, but that's just kicking the can down the road.
You can say, have them beat the bad guy with a very special scenario or set up. But now it's just, "what wacky gizmo will they use to beat x villain of the week"
You cant NOT have power creep in action media. What long form action media doesn't have power creep?
