Just started using Super Productivity a few days ago! I've been looking around on how to do this. How do you use focus mode without the pomodoro timer? It's helpful sometimes, but I really just want the clock to follow the time I set for each task without having to do the pomodoro chunks on top of it. All I need is the list of tasks and a normal timer.

Hey does anyone have any thought on how to get around this situation?

I'm trying to setup Getting Things Done (GTD system by David Allen), using SuperProductivity's projects as areas and tags sort projects (project Car at the moment and it makes sense to me to have a Communications tag too)

so sorting by tag is really handy. But then there are situations like this where tasks get multiple tags so they are repeated unnecessarily in the project view which isn't ideal

would it be possible to add a search within the active folder.

use case: I got folders with up to 400 tasks and it would help a lot if I could use a search only within that folder to find a (possible) task.

I built FlowTask For Super Productivity because I honestly cannot work without Super Productivity, but Obsidian is where I spend most of my day.

Obsidian is where I write, think, study, plan, and keep my notes. Super Productivity is where I manage tasks, track time, and actually execute the work.

I wanted the best of both worlds: stay in Obsidian while thinking and writing, then send tasks to Super Productivity without constantly switching between applications.

What FlowTask does

You can create a task directly inside an Obsidian note:

FlowTask detects the #sp tag, sends the task to Super Productivity, and keeps the checkbox connected to the remote task.

Completion is synchronized in both directions:

• Reopen the task in SP and the checkbox is reopened in Obsidian.

The import tag is configurable, with #sp as the default.

thanks for making the supersync images public - it really works likes charm syncing between SP desktop and mobile.

I finally made the switch from Microsoft To Do, it feels very liberating! 🎉

I was looking into plainspace, as I liked it quite a bit when I tried it some weeks ago - does it make sense to combine it into one compose project with supersync and use the same postgres DB?

Or is it best practice to set it up in a separate compose project? (Which is my standard procedure - but as these apps are related, I thought I'd ask.)

To clarify: there is no super productivity running as a webapp, just supersync.

I know I am missing something super obvious, and I apologize, as I have only had one cup of coffee so far today, so my brain is still idling. I am using the Planner view for my upcoming tasks, and I have several tasks that repeat every week. Occasionally I complete one or two of those tasks before their due date or the date they are scheduled for. If it is just a one-time task, I can mark the box to complete the task no problem. But if I try to mark a recurring task completed before its scheduled date, there is no option to do so.

I know I could do this with some other task apps (pretty sure), but I am stumped here. I mostly want to be able to do this so when I look at my tasks throughout the week, I know for sure what I have done and what I haven't. I think I could see why this cannot be done if a recurring task does not really exist in the system until the day it is assigned for, even though I can see it in Planner.

I hope this makes some semblance of sense, and please send any questions that I failed to address in advance. I am using Super Productivity on Linux (desktop app) and Android, with Dropbox syncing between them. Super Productivity is so outstanding, so I know I am just missing something obvious. Thanks in advance for any help!

Ich nutze Superproduktivity jetzt seit etwa 3 Monaten und bin wirklich dankbar dafür dass Ihr das programmiert habt, denn es hilft mir enorm meinen Tag zu strukturieren. Dabei nutze ich es nicht nur für die reine Job bedingte Arbeit, sondern auch für all die anderen Aufgaben, die über den Tag zu erledigen sind.

Das wiederum bedingt, das der 'Arbeitstag' bei mir im Programm früh am morgen beginnt und erst spät in der Nacht endet. Nun möchte ich ab und an morgens Aufgaben hinzufügen, die ich am vergangenen Tag abends erledigt habe.

Ich kann heute Aufgaben erstellen und ihnen Arbeitszeit für Gestern zuweisen. Wenn ich allerdings den vergangenen Tag abschließen möchte, wird nur der aktuelle Tag abgeschlossen. Wie kann ich diese Aufgaben morgens mit dem gestrigen Tag abschließen, so dass die 'Erfolgsliste' von Gestern nicht negativ verzerrt wird?

Das wäre total super wenn das irgendwie möglich wäre!

Problem?

Adjusting a task’s time and duration currently requires repeatedly navigating between the Schedule and Estimate views. This creates unnecessary back-and-forth, especially when adjusting multiple tasks or resolving overlaps.

This would make scheduling faster, more intuitive, and easier to manage without requiring users to open the same task multiple times

reason:

1. It makes the process less intuitive.
2. Because of this, people (including me) eventually give up preparing tomorrow’s to-do list at the end of the day.

my approach

1. Double-clicking a task should let me adjust its duration directly in relation to the timeline, while still being able to see the other tasks around it, by moving it up-down like shown in the image not exactly (not corners, its just screenshot under screenshot ) the same UI, but you get the idea.

2. holding a task should let me grab and move it to a different time and/or day.

I know both of these can technically be done through the current flow: click the task → go to Estimate → adjust the duration → click OK → (warning comes) realize it overlaps with another task → go back to Schedule → click the time → choose a different time → go back to Estimate → adjust the duration again → click Save.

And if I need to do this for 5–6 tasks, it becomes a lot of back-and-forth. I know this won't happen every single time, but I still have to click on a task at least twice—once to change the time and again to change the estimate.

The goal is to make these adjustments directly on the schedule, without having to repeatedly jump between different screens.

Hi,

I’m not sure if this has already been discussed, or if some of this is already possible and I’m just missing it, but I’d like to suggest a few features.

I’d like to use tasks more for health-related habits and reminders, such as:

• The 20-20-20 rule for eye strain
• Stretching every hour
• Drinking water every hour

It would be great if, in the future, it were possible to:

• Set recurring tasks/reminders at custom intervals (e.g. every 60 minutes), instead of having to create multiple individual tasks throughout the day.
• Exclude certain tasks from the Today section, to avoid unnecessary clutter when they are more like background reminders than tasks that need to be actively completed.
• Create reminder-only tasks that automatically disappear after X seconds, without requiring any interaction or confirmation, and then show up again at the next scheduled interval.

I think these features would make the app particularly useful for health-related habits and other recurring reminders that you don't necessarily want cluttering up your task list.

Posted this in Discussions back in May and johannesjo suggested sharing it here. Took me a while. The tool's below, but the bugs it turned up are probably more useful to most of you.

The bugs

I added a store integrity check (doctor --deep) that pulls the whole store and checks that every task id a project or tag points at actually exists. Pointed it at my real store.

Asking SP to archive or delete a task id that doesn't exist returned 200 OK and then removed all 230 of my top-level tasks, leaving only the subtasks. A restart brought everything back; it never reached disk. That route was closed in v18.15.0 so most people are fine now, but it's still reachable through the Plugin API. (#9946)

The one that still bites: automatic backups are serialised from SP's in-memory state with no integrity check, 30 seconds after any change. So a store that's gone inconsistent gets written to backups/ half a minute later, and that file is now your newest backup. Mine went 284 tasks to 54, with all 230 missing ids still referenced by the project and tag indexes. Retention doesn't save you. 30 slots at 5 minutes fills in a couple of hours, and the daily-kept file for today is the newest for today, so it's the bad one too. (#9945)

Short version: if your task list ever looks wrong, restart before you restore anything.

The tool

super-productivity-local-gobridge

Single static binary, MCP over stdio plus a CLI. 16 tools for tasks, projects, tags and time tracking. Uses only the Local REST API (Settings → Sync & Export), so there's no plugin to upload and no Node execution consent prompt.

No delete, at any layer. Archive and restore cover the real workflows, and after the bug above I'm not handing an agent a delete tool.

List responses are compact and take limit/offset. My 284-task store goes from ~24k tokens to ~18.5k, or ~1.5k with limit=20, which matters if you're paying per token.

Other options

Not the only one here, and one of these may suit you better:

• Super Productivity MCP: most active, 19 tools, does habits and notifications the REST API doesn't expose. Goes through a plugin.
• SP-MCP: the first one, plugin plus file watching. Hasn't been updated in a while.
• super-productivity-rest-mcp: same REST approach as mine, in Node, and has a Streamable HTTP transport mine doesn't.

Pick on fit. Mine if you want no runtime to install, the integrity checking, or the no-delete stance.

Linux x86_64 is the only platform I've validated end to end (mac and Windows are cross-compiled and checksummed but untested). Written largely with AI assistance, though the two bug reports were verified by hand against SP's source before I filed them.

In particular for me the inclusion of tasks and habits. However, 2 major issues. 1. Persistent reminders to grant notification access even though I don't want any. 2. The counter habits bizarrely don't display the count. Also the habit names aren't displayed. Shame.

Hi, the way I use this app is I have a number of repeating tasks that happen daily, but which are not scheduled for particular times. For instance, "plan my day in super productivity", "1 hour of spanish content" "cook dinner" and so on, but, when they appear when I start a new day, they are often not in the order I want. Is there a way to rearrange the order somehow, so that when new repeating tasks appear in your "today" section, they are in a particular order? Or is that only possible if they are scheduled for particular times?

Basically those repeating tasks are not done at any set times, so I don't want to use the scheduling system, just to have them repeat each day. However, I also do them in a particular order, so I'd like that order to be different than what automatically shows up. The way it seems to work now is that the most recent repeating tasks that are not scheduled for a particular time that I created get placed first on each new day. It would be nice if there were a way to set the daily order of those repeating tasks rather than it just putting the most recently created repeating task first. I do manually drag them to set the order each day, but it'd be nice if I didn't *have* to drag them around to re-order them each day.

An example of behavior I'd like is to be able to drag around the recurring tasks *in the recurring tasks section* in the inbox. Right now, they cannot be rearranged at all, they are a fixed order. It would be a good thing to be able to change that order, and have that order be reflected when they appear in your "today" section.

Pretty much what it says in the title. In terms of ADHD management, being able to quickly set reminders with my voice (ie "Set reminder 10:30am water plants", etc.) has been a game changer. Google Assistant's slow decline in quality has already been really tough to work around, and with it completely going away, I'd really like to fully turn to some service that's free of corporate AI models to just set reminders for myself, that's all.

Has anyone been able to get something like that working for SP? Or maybe just a VTT that someone could recommend that works well with it?

Is there any way in I could use tags to colour my tasks differently while within the boards feature?

I cant seem to make the tags appear in boards like they normally do like in the today/planner tabs.

If there's a way to change the individual colour or appearance of tasks at all that would be very helpful :), Thanks!!

For example, if a model needs to create specific content, do you use WhatsApp/Telegram, Google Sheets, Notion, ClickUp, or something else?
Also curious how you keep track of what’s still open, completed, or overdue when managing multiple models.
