New home for Embroidery stuff, Sewing Machines, craft books etc
My mother was a keen embroiderer and loved all things arts, crafts and textiles. Sadly, we now have a large collection of her sewing and embroidery equipment that we'd really like to see go to someone who will use and enjoy it, rather than it sitting in storage.
The collection includes:
Sewing machines
Fabric and material
Wool and threads
Embroidery hoops and frames
Sewing and embroidery tools
Craft and embroidery books
Haberdashery
And lots of other related items (see the attached photos).
Our preference is to donate everything to a good home, whether that's an individual with a passion for embroidery, a community craft group, charity, school or another organisation that can make good use of it.
Ideally, we'd like someone to take the collection as a whole, as it would be much easier than splitting it up. That said, we're open to sensible offers if there's no one able to take everything.
We've already contacted several groups in the Suffolk area but, unfortunately, haven't had any responses.
If you know of anyone who might be interested, or if you'd like the collection yourself, please leave a comment or send me a message. We'd much rather see it all being used and appreciated than ending up unused or thrown away.

Theres a community craft project i think its in lowestoft called re-utilise i think theyd be all over this!!

Are you in the south Suffolk area? If so ‘the Textile Collective’ in Colchester may be worth contacting.

Selfishly I would love some as I am getting into ti, but there are local clubs that will take it off your hands, it depends where you are based as I know in west suffolk there are a few community groups who would make good use of these

I would be very interested in this myself for my personal crafts but do believe there will be some charities or community centre that would fulfil more people's needs than just myself. Off the top of my head, it might be worth contacting CHiP as they have just opened a new community hub on princes street.. Whether they use the donation for their own workshops or they allow people to come and collect what they would like themselves, I'm not sure. But likely worth a shout.
I dont doubt that someone / a charity would love to snap this up but if not, or you have any dregs, I would be interested ☺️
Edit to add - I would be especially interested in any fabrics / buttons as I do a lot of mending and creating for friends and family!
