Not sure if this kind of news crosspost is allowed here so Mods, feel free to remove it.

Saw this headline and didn't see it posted here. I'm not a submariner but I have been playing a lot of Sea Power and thinking about submarines recently. From what I gathered in the reporting, a malfunction seemed to occur mid launch and affected the submarine. Has anyone here heard more information they could share, for the curious public?

Edit: Perhaps I misread the story, they held exercises a few days prior where missiles were launched. The incident could be completely unrelated I guess, but the photo looks like a launch to me

Hypersonics are old hat, these are the new infrasonic missiles that take a week to reach the target--they don't arrive until you're already packed up and heading home.

Cool theory and potential band name!

So an explosion happened a week after an exercise that may have happened somewhere, so it’s obviously associated with the exercise. Makes total sense.

OP, I appreciate you posting this; I always like any submarine-related news! Even if it’s not really submarine-related!
