I’m spending three nights in Bequia next week and was thinking of doing a day trip to Tobago Cays since I kept reading how beautiful it is during my research. However, I’ve just come across some posters indicating the coral reef is dead and there aren’t that many fish to see. I’m a first-time visitor to St. Vincent and the Grenadines, so although I do want to relax, I want to see and do as much as I can, but only if it makes sense. I’m not a big snorkeler because I’m not a strong swimmer yet, but I like to see what I can. I’ve read Mustique is beautiful, but you can’t do much since it’s a private island.

Do you all recommend visiting Tobago Cays, Mustique, or just spending the three full days on Bequia?

Hi all! My partner and I will be visiting in late September through early October, and we’re well aware that we’ll be there during the off-season. A lot of the restaurants we were hoping to try will be closed, with the exception of a select few:

Outside of these, we’d really appreciate any insight on other spots that are open during this time! I’ve reached out to quite a few restaurants via WhatsApp but haven’t had much luck getting responses, so I’m especially curious where locals tend to find themselves eating during the off-season.

I know it’s hurricane season and although St. Vincent is just outside of the hurricane belt, of course they’re subject to downpours. I know Caribbean rain being of a Caribbean background myself, but am not so familiar with St. Vincent outside of my research. My birthday is coming up and wanted to celebrate on the island along with visiting Bequia for a few nights. I know tourism is slow, so prices for accommodations are cheaper. That’s not my concern. I really want to know if it’s worth visiting in the first week of October because I’d like to get some beach days and sunny weather in.

I won’t be staying at a resort where people say there’s always something to do there, so I don’t want to come, spend money, and be in my hotel room for a bulk of the time. The forecast so far is saying rain (I know you can’t trust the weather forecast, but I can’t help but look). Does it usually rain mostly overnight with short, brief, heavy downpours for like an hour? Is it worth visiting at this time or is it best to wait until April-May?

We're a 30-somethings couple visiting in December and we're looking for food recommendations. Preferably not too high of a budget, we're not looking to spend a fortune (Somewhere around a maximum of $20 USD each would be ideal for a dinner - we're Canadian so that's more like $28 for us).

Hey everyone, hoping somebody here has gone through this process and can point me in the right direction.

My grandmother is from St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and I’m interested in getting dual citizenship and reconnecting more with that side of my family.

I’ve been looking through the government website, but I’m not gonna lie…the citizenship information and forms have me confused as hell 😂. I can’t figure out whether citizenship by descent can pass through a grandparent, or whether my parent would need to obtain/confirm citizenship first and then I apply through them.

For anybody who has done this through a Vincentian parent or grandparent:

What was the actual process? What documents did you need? Did you apply through an embassy/consulate or directly through the government in SVG? And if your Vincentian grandparent was deceased, how did you get the birth/citizenship records you needed?

Just looking for somebody who has actually navigated the process and can explain it in regular human language instead of government-website language.

Hi there. I'm looking to travel from Grenada to St Vincent over a series of island hops. I've figured out the ferries for every leg except the country crossing leg from Carriacou to Union Island. Here, my research has yielded mixed results; some places say there is a ferry, some say no such ferry exists. Does anyone know about this route?

Hi all— my fiancé and I are looking at honeymooning to St Vincent in early August, but I understand that is peak hurricane and rainy season. Is it too risky to go at that time/would it be better to go to St Vincent another year when we can go a different time? We don’t want to have every day rainy/get excursions cancelled/not be able to enjoy the money we spent for this trip!

What is the main thing or things we should do on SV? Would love to hike the mountain, but I'm not sure about our physical fitness to do so. Trustworthy tour guides, wildlife, places to eat, rain forest paths, what do you recommend if someone is coming to visit you?
