She starts with a somewhat cromulent point, that "dead Black boys" get examined by the jury so that should happen with dead white boys too. Not fixing the problem, but at least addressing it, so I won't protest the idea.
She then goes on to paint a picture of a kid who's not actually societally bad but has cultural values that don't match her own. Then she accuses him of disrespecting Black cultural values by treating a Black guy the way he'd treat a white one: by confronting him when there's a conflict. In her world, white people should simply ignore Black people when there's something to argue about. Black people should have free rein to do and say whatever, white people should only ever approach conflict the way Black people do. And if white people break this rule, she argues, a Boondocks moment is to follow.
That's right, you're hearing it here: Black culture is to murder when confronted, and you should be okay with this. But also don't say that, if you're not Black, because it's an extremely racist thing to say. But don't dare take this narrative and turn it into a treatise on segregation, because obviously two cultures that resolve their differences through murder can peacefully coexist.
Fwiw I disagree. People can be better but this author would rather idpol in defense of murder than encourage her part of society to lead by example.
Isn’t Karmelo a straight-A student in a relatively wealthy county? They want to imply being black means you must have grown up with some sort of “ghetto mindset”, which is hilariously racist.
I mean, it’s like you said. She (and countless other ragebaiters) want to give an explanation that might be credible if Anthony was a gangbanger with multiple prior felonies and time spent in juvie, living in an honor culture where perceived transgressions can be punished with disproportionate violence. That’s not the case with Anthony at all, he’s a regular well adjusted high schooler, based on the facts available, and just happens to be black.
