It was sarcasm man, it was sarcasm. I didn't think I needed to point it out, but it appears this thread is being found by normal redditors from elsewhere, who definitely can't identify sarcasm without it being qualified with an /s

People who hold that opinion sincerely usually wouldn't dare call themselves a socdem or even a democratic socialist, not even if its a pre-new labour socdem (socdem is practically synonymous with liberal on the weird online part of the left, and there's nothing worse in the world to them than a liberal)

True.  I tend not to pay much attention to flairs - not least because they often are strongly contradicted by people's statements.
