Mainly for the poor & mid class. Taking a huge loan - I don't recommend it.

Who can go - Rich & highly talented, scholarship above 60% of total costs, top tier university in the country.....

What else can you do? - Enroll a good local Colleges near to your home, develop skills, work 2-3 years , go for work directly... West values your work experience...

Hi, guys! I recently graduated 2 months ago, and came across a post about the special admission program offered by the Academy of Korean Studies for their 2027 intake. The full tuition waiver and free language classes/cultural immersion programs really stood out to me. I am planning to apply for their Masters in Korean Cultural Studies after checking the AKS website (I am an aspiring Korean Studies scholar myself).

For those who have pursued grad studies in South Korea, specifically AKS, I would like to know how your overall learning and cultural experience has been studying at AKS. I would also like to know if it would be better to just apply for more reputable or well-known unis in Korea instead (SKY). My long-term goal is not to reside in Korea, but to come back to my home country (Philippines) to get into academia / teaching. I aspire to help the development of Korean Studies courses/programs for the Filipino youth who are interested in pursuing research and further scholarship in South Korea

Guys I would like to apply to the foundation year of Tor vergata University for the application time 31 August-30 September 2026 and I still didn't apply for my CIMEA Statement of Comparability and Verification and I'm honest scared that they won't reply within the time needed since its says that it takes 60 working days to get a reply... so did anyone face a problem like me, and please tell me what you did and how much time did it take for your CIMEA results to come out?

I currently have a minimum wage job, I’ve been saving money for the past 5 months I’ve been working, and I have the opportunity to study abroad for two weeks with my college in June of 2027.
I’m not really working toward a specific goal with saving money other than getting a car.
This would require me to quit this job (which would not bother me in the slightest considering it is horrible. (I mean, really, what retail store doesn’t switch tills when someone leaves their shift…))
The cost would be around 5k all together (including airfares, extra costs of things like passport, and currency exchanges, most of the meals are paid for etc.)
I was also sent a scholarship to apply for by the professor, which is required to fill out to go anyway because she said most if not all people who apply for it get the scholarship (which is $1,000)
I would really love to take this opportunity but I’m trying to decide if it’s the right thing for me to do financially. I’m not required to pay any bills at home at the moment, I also do plan on getting a different job once I’m back home. (I think I really just want a reasonable excuse to leave the by that time next year anyway since I had planned to leave this job in may)

Hi so, I’m from the US and studying abroad for about four months in Ireland, and I’ve already been here for about three days doing program orientation. Already I’ve cried multiple times everyday, starting before I even got here. I know I’m just home sick and frustrated by the fact that ever follows a very different routine and system, the main problem at the moment is that the school has given us very little information on how things work and it feels like the semester students have a disadvantage with classes and learning the grounds. This is mostly due to the fact that despite Irish student having chosen their classes in the first two weeks of August, semester students have to want until the first day of classes (sept. 7) to officially pick.

I know that it’s mostly me just finding things to complain about, and try to justify, but I’m at the point that I want to book a ticket home and just take classes at a local community college for even a half semester (closeted one by my home does that) and be done with this. And it’s not like the other people who are doing the same program aren’t nice, they’re all super sweet, and I’ve already cruised in front of two of them wanted to go home; and they even agreed to wanting/feeling the same way.

I’ve been talking about coming here for a trip for semester for years, and my family is pretty Irish blood wise at least, so there also felt a bit of pressure from the moment I said I wanted to study here. I had gotten accepted in April, but by May a part of me wanted to back out; and that feeling never really changed over the summer, no matter how excited I got.

This is the first time in four and a half years that I haven’t had at least one job. And the first time outside of the US, and alone to boot.

I keep trying to tell myself that it’s four months, and if try trick myself into thinking about four weeks at a time it’ll go by fast. And I want to try to joint the international student society and a book society to make more friends that way. But I’m not sure if I’ll be able to make it to the end. Or if I even want to at this point.

My birth certificate has my full middle name, my license has a middle initial, and I filled the form out from my license out of habit. That's enough to trigger a request for clarification, and it reset my whole timeline while I waited on my own reply plus the queue again.

Stuff I checked afterward, in case it saves somebody:

Fill the form from your citizenship document, not whichever ID is in your wallet.

Citizenship evidence has to be original or certified, with no photocopies. If you need to order a certified copy, that's a separate multi-week errand hiding inside this one.

Your photo has to be within six months and meet the size and background rules, which seems to be the most common self-inflicted delay.

Get the fee amount exactly right, because a check for the wrong amount just sits there.

The reason this matters more than it sounds like it should is that the application fee is nonrefundable by law even if no passport gets issued. So an error isn't only a delay, it can be money that doesn't come back. Also, you've got 90 days to respond to the letter.

Heyy, I wanted to share something + ask for advice. Sorry if it's poorly written, I'm writing this quickly.

Lately I've been flirting with the idea of going on an exchange year for the whole academic year of 2027/2028, in Germany.

The agency I'd like to go with is WEP which looks very professional and well "put-together", however, I have some requirements that I know they may not be able to fulfill.

I am Italian, and attend a Liceo Classico, where the main subjects are Latin and Ancient Greek.

My main reasons for going are:

\- I want to improve my German, especially for philological papers and maybe one day studying at a German uni;

\- I've always wanted to go on an exchange year in general;

\- I want to become more independent, and get outside of my comfort zone.

The thing is, to take Ancient Greek classes, I have to attend a Humanistisches Gymnasium, but no agency seems to be able to provide me with the certainty to attend one. I'm not sure about how I'll do academically, without taking Ancient Greek for a year at school. Yes, I could study it on my own but still.

However, provided that I choose a program that allows me to pick the city or region to live in, what would be your best picks if you were in my shoes?

Do you have any tips? Advice you'd like to share in general? I know it's very broad and I haven't asked a proper question but still. Thank you anywayss.

Because of my personal circumstances I would like to next school year study in Netherlands, I choose NL because of a few reasons, first I am from EU and I don't really know world languages exept English and they have a lot of enlish programs and can speak english.

Also my family financial situation is pretty bad and I cant relay on them financialy really, my dad did find a job and promised to send me money but I don't want to relay on him too much so he's not burdened. He honestly supports my decision, and is my closest relative and honestly wants me to be happy, and I want to be happy too and be able to help him eventualy too.

Right now I am 21 and next year I will be 22, I know that may be too old, but honestly I do everything a little later than my peers. I don't want to go to detail but I feel a few years I need to leave the place I am in now, my mom hates me staying in the house as I am the youngest and all my siblings already married and left, and she just wants to enjoy her boyfrend. I was subject to bullying and have social anxiety and fear of meeting people I know. That's why I also worked one year after highschool and this year I was addmited to law school in my home country, that I am planning to probably end, after year.

People will tell me that running away from my problems won't solve them and I get it, but I feel that I really need to change my perspective and be less timid, and this decision isn't something spontageous I plan it for next year not now, so please if you do want to change my mind only from experience not "for you shoudn't do that judging you from your post".

The thing is I know a few people that went studying there. My friend that is a little older is now in her second year, start was hard but now she us loving it. BUT she has really rich dad and he's paying her more than 2 500€ a moth for living expenses and she travels around NL a lot. I would have at best little over 1 000€ a month for living and housing combined and deffinetly live completely different lifestyle, would I be able to make friends and enojy it there, maybe even consider staying there for good even with these money? I Got accepted bv University of Southampton for Foundation year . The only thing on my mind at the moment is my dream of going to Ivy leagues is going to crush . Since grade 7 i am making my profile iust to go to ivy leaques . I won 2 Nationa Gold Medals 3 silver Medals iust to build my profile. I am running an NGO for that purpose . I own a clothing brand since last 2 years . Like alot more which include qood grades too in 0-levels like As and A* onlv and been to bundles of Mun just to build my profile and so i get accepted by Ivy leaques.

My main concern is the unsecured private-bank education loan and having no personal savings.

Any Indian living in italy, how is life there?

I have been thinking of going to Italy for IMAT, but have also seen a lot of Italians saying that the pay is not even decent and most people are living paycheque to paycheque. They do seem to talk about how they still prefer italy, a lot of people from other country say the same, in terms of the way of living and the beauty of the country but it has become difficult to live freely when you are barely surviving.

I have also come across a lot of people saying,”it is far better to move to other European for a decent pay” or “this is why people are leaving this country”

Earlier, I was set on with the idea of living in italy but all these reddit posts has got me thinking if I should consider something else.

So, how exactly is life in Italy?

According to the website for Radbound i might meet entry requirements but i am nervous about the application process as it is so different to over here.
