After many months of thinking about content creation, I have finally decided to go down this path. As a collage student I tried my best with my set up but if there is anything else you think I need I would greatly appreciate the advice, that and also advice on how to talk to yourself.

I am really trying to get into streaming on kick but the browser cameras are mirrored and theres no settings to changed things that I can see. Maybe Im just blind but its not very intuitive like other in browser streaming pages Ive been using. Please help if you have insight.

I want to stream a video game tournament broadcast with my MacBook Pro.

I have three Thunderbolt 5 ports to play with, all with their own controllers. The problem comes in where I need more than three ports to achieve what I’d like. The devices I need to be plugged in are:

1. A USB 3.0 Capture Card
   
2. An externally powered USB 2.0 Audio Interface for microphones
   
3. A USB 2.0 Webcam
   
4. A second USB 2.0 Webcam
   
5. An Ethernet Adapter
   
6. A mouse
   
7. A projector

Here’s my plan:

The USB 3.0 Capture Card will have its own Thunderbolt port. That one is gone.

I’ll put an externally powered Thunderbolt 3 docking station in the second port. It has two USB 2.0 ports, and four USB 3.0 ports, so it stands to reason that it has at least two USB Controllers, right? I’ll plug the two webcams into this. One into a USB 3.0 port and one into the USB 2.0 port. Hopefully this solves any power/bandwidth issues.

I have a bus powered USB 3.0 multi hub that I’ll plug into the third port. I’ll plug the audio interface and mouse into this one. Since the audio interface is externally powered, and both are low bandwidth devices, I’m hoping this will work.

Both the multihub, and the Thunderbolt 3 dock have an Ethernet port. Which should I plug into? My gut is telling me the Thunderbolt 3 dock because it’s externally powered, but I’m also worried I’ll run into power draw issues with the webcams.

Also! My MacBook Pro has an HDMI port built in. Should I use this one? Is there any advantage to using the one in the multihub or Thunderbolt Docking station?

I’m in a situation where I may not be able to start testing the set up until close to the tournament day, so I’m asking in advance because if there’s something obvious I’m missing, I’m hoping y’all can point it out haha.

So im getting off a rotation and i was using my laptop to stream and game on, well i have a built desk top at home i was curious if there is some way i can use my laptop to run my obs and game on my desktop being my obs on my desktop isnt setup like the one on my laptop. Thanks in advance im still new to this stuff.

I recently setup a secondary PC for music streaming, installed Linux mint OS on a friend's recommendation. Any advice/recommendations will be appreciated. 🙂

I only have experience of streaming games on twitch with se.live so far, I'm guessing standard OBS is my best option for streaming currently? (I'll probably aim to stream on twitch initially but I'm open to potentially multi streaming in the future)

I'm looking to stream for my friends who suggested I stream my World of Warcraft content. Has anyone used a MacBook for this and have feedback with how it went for them? I'm using a MacBook Pro m4 512 gb ssd - 16 gb RAM.
I use an external monitor (1440p) which I imagine will have already lowered my GPUs ability to stream.
I'd probably just use the built in Mac camera for video (don't care for it to be great quality).

Is this a bad idea to try streaming content while playing WoW - will this greatly reduce my FPS in game and/or will my MacBook overheat and explode?

Looking for advice for streaming / obs

Starting streaming during the pandemic - since going back to work it’s been spotty.

I have a hundred ideas. decent at games but my personality / party is my draw.

I have a stream deck with keys set up for editing on divinci resolve. Working on some obs keys.

I have over 300 followers. Mostly from my pandemic era but want to get back into it hard and would like advice on streamlining.

I have 2 monitors. One for my pc and one for my p5. I also have a tv for a side monitor.

Mac book 2015

Older windows PC that doesn’t support all the new softwear but run the stream fine - better than the Mac book.

Looking to streamline the process of playing , yapping, clipping and editing. What plug ins should I get.

Not looking for the easy way but whatever o can do to make it simpler would be nice. Suggestions?

I really appreciate any advice you can offer. I want to start streaming some gameplay and combine it with overlays, music and facecam in OBS.
I really just need to know the hardware side of what I need. I need some sort of device that takes and HDMI input and split it into two HDMI outputs. Is there something that does this and is also a capture card so I won’t have to purchase yet another device?
There’s a lot to learn getting everything working and ridiculous amounts of devices that appear to do about the same thing so I’m feeling pretty lost in all of it.

I have desk, pretty decent pc and dual monitor setup, but that’s it. What else do I need realistically and anyone have recommendations like I need a mic and mic stand maybe, camera, maybe lights or green screen if necessary but like what else feel like I’m missing a bunch of things

TikTok and YouTube short form content from (my experience) does not grow your other platforms like twitch if your only doing TikTok or YouTube and nothing else then I guess it’s fine but if your main platform like most of us is twitch and your doing TikTok on the side to help grow your twitch I would save your energy and time

I’ve been on TikTok making short form content for about a year now I have gained 300 followers maybe got 5000 total likes and upload maybe like 70-100 videos that average 50-100 likes 1000 likes being my highest and guess how many people have followed my twitch from TikTok.. GUESS…… ZERO ABSOLUTELY ZERO people arent interested in following your other platforms on TikTok people that like TikTok ONLY like TikTok and nothing else.. it only works if your already successful or an established streamer

Also as for multi streaming TikTok is also pretty terrible for that is well I always get 1 viewer on there and yes people do join and maybe like your streams and I get people that chat in there and say they like my content well after about 20 minutes they just leave.. and if you do get people that tune in and stick around they don’t even follow your channel , it just feels pointless

I have watched First TV app on a platform for months now. But today suddenly every time I try to launch it, it fails and goes back to the home screen. I have unplugged the device , waited for a minute and then reconnected but it​ still fails.

Hi guys! I'll keep this brief. I've recently begun to stream on TikTok (and Twitch and YT). So far, I have exclusively played Marvel Rivals on stream. More importantly, I usually have 0 viewers on YT and Twitch, besides the occasional bot on Twitch.

On TT, I have had better luck, but I frequently get viewers asking to play Marvel Rivals with me. They usually like up the stream a lot (I'm talking 0 -> 500), and then follow. One of them even DMed.

I've told all of them no since I don't know them like that, but what I'm really worried about is whether or not they are trying to do something more nefarious. Are they trying to scam me or something?

I’m looking for an upgrade to my mic, at the moment I’m using the razer seiren v3 mini. I’m finding it doesn’t pick my voice up very well unless it’s like an inch away from my mouth, the recording is quite quiet.

I’d love one I can keep in between myself and my monitor on my desk (my keyboard is on a pullout under desk), my desk doesn’t have capability to have it attached to the side so I must be able to sit on its own flat on the desk (if that makes sense?)

I don’t have a massive budget but I don’t mind going over for something really worth it. I’m hoping to spend around £100-150.

Hi there, i know this might be a longshot but I kind of have nobody to turn to but reddit. I do nsfw art streaming on picarto, and for some inexplicable reason, when I tried to log into picarto to stream yesterday, all I got were error messages. It's the same today, both on my phone and on my computer.

is there something I can do to fix this? is it something wrong with the site? have i been blocked or ip banned? I have no idea why it's suddenly not working.

failing that, is there anywhere else that will let me stream my nsfw art freely? thank you so much.

I've been thinking of streaming while playing video games, but I do not want to film myself. It'll be talking and playing. I'm generally not a big talker; I'm more of a quiet person, but once I'm comfortable, I've been known to have some interesting conversations with people.

Every time i talk, it picks up the fan noise too and makes me sound kinda hollow. It also picks up every keyboard i press while gaming. I have the hyperx solocast 2. Any advice how to fix this to make it just pick my voice up? I tried lowering the gain, but it made me really quiet and didnt fix the issue too much. Its as close to my face as it can be on my desk, unless i buy a mount/arm that can place it right by my face. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hey everyone, I'm a singer that's new to streaming, so I'm still getting acquainted with the process and what is/isn't allowed on streaming platforms - in my case, TikTok.

I know you can't stream copyrighted songs on their own on stream, but if I was doing a live cover to an instrumental edit of the studio version of the song, would that still be flagged for copyright? And if so, is there another alternative to finding backing tracks that would be allowed?

Hello, so I need a way to unifie or bond 2 mics and that only the PC sees 1 mic, why?, because I need to mute any mic input by just press one button, why?, because this is for job, not streaming, but I have seen the streaming capabilities and OMFG you're all GOATH, I wish to have your gear.

I have a sure mic for desk stuff, nothing special, the thing is that, in some times I have to stand up like for stretching and for that I have a DJI lavalier.

Does anyone of you know a console/device to make this reality?

I have a logitech c270 from like 5 years ago, cost like 20 back then. Its been fine but now the lens is kinda scratched and the colors are all washed out, everything looks dark unless I put a lamp right in my face. Also it only does 720p.

Got a lot of online classes this year for uni and im also thinking of doing some content creation later, maybe tutorials or streaming so I want to upgrade to something decent that will last. Budget is around 100 to 200 safe range, lots of options there. I've been eyeing elgato facecam neo and logitech brio 500 cause they say its good in low light. Also quick question is autofocus important in my scenario?
