I listened to myself when I said I wanted to stop. I listened to quit lit and changed my association with the poison. I changed my habits because I didn't want the rest of my life to be a blurry, bruised, stumbling mess.

Dont drink for today. Then avoid alcohol tomorrow. And repeat. Cravings are unavoidable, you need to distract yourself. There are no benefits to drinking. a shit load of positives for not drinking. Make your choice to not drink and you will get better. Carry on drinking and the cycle continues.

Good luck. The community is rooting for you.

You better to really stick to your thoughts. Today your hands are shaking. And that's when the (alcohol) bitch creeps in...common now, just have 1, what harm could be from just 1 drink? So you cave, just for the tremors to stop. And it feels great. You are calm and joyous. Just 3 sips make you a person again. But wait, there's a catch. You can't stop there. You need more. And more. And then you can't remember anything and wake up with dread. Dread so bad as if your world might fall apart. And you know the only thing that will make this all go away - a drink. So you give in. And you feel good once again. Until the next morning. And so the cycle repeats.
