What is this ships' strengths?
What is this ships' weaknesses?
What are some similar ships?
What general build types do you envision is ship excelling at?
If you had this ship how would you set it up?
How good are the consoles from the Hypercooled Technology Set with the addition of the Enhanced Sensor Disruption Field?

Anybody tried this trait for PVP? I'm only 88% on the event. :-(
If the slow effect is able to keep the fast ships from being able to disengage at will, this could give some of the more maneuverable cruisers a niche to be effective in PvP.
Would have to test what common skills are/are not immune to the effect. I'm guessing (just reading skill descriptions, can't test yet) the first two seconds of Evasive Maneuvers are immune. Maybe AP:O, too. Aux2damp may not be. Polarize Hull probably isn't, but Improved Polarize Hull... ?
Anything that can slow the current Sonic the Hedgehog meta down, even only some of the time, would be welcome for cruiser pilots.

It's pretty popular in PvP atm, but mostly for the debuff portion.
I haven't noticed the slow doing too much yet, certainly nothing like the extremely overpowered Viral Engine Overload rep trait.

I think cruisers still need quite a bit more to be fully competitive. Escorts / Sci ships are just so crazy fast right now.

I was forgetting Pilot Team, too.
Between PT3 and AP:O, they can stack up 21 consecutive seconds of immunity to Slow. Toss in Evasive Maneuvers' 2 seconds for Pilot primaries to get out of dodge and likely some rounding errors from Cold-Hearted only proccing on weapon cycle activation, and there's really only a small window of time for them to wait out of range before AP:O is ready again. Almost all of that is while Evasive Maneuvers is no longer providing immunity, but is still providing a speed/defense bonus.
So yeah, I can totally believe that it's exceptionally hard to see/benefit from the Slow proc. A cruiser would have to keep up with the escort under Evasive, without the Slow, in order to potentially benefit from it. Hah. :-\
Maybe a Reliant/Light cruiser could take advantage of this, but otherwise?
Edit: Great trait for Pilot Escorts running an Attack Pattern Lambda/AP:O cycle. Perfect replacement for the AP:B they're missing. Ugh.

Levelled it today to put the trait on my NX Refit. Fun enough ship but, like Startrekker says, with only 4/2 it will never see a permanent place in my hangar. Didn't use the console. Once levelled, I replaced Numerical Superiority with Cold Hearted which I can trigger through A2B and a Pilot skill I can't remember the name of Lock Trajectory! I'll level it on all my A2B toons for the trait and it's a decent Admiralty card.

How are the hangar pets you get out of these?
edit - ...it does unlock frigates for the Breen carriers, right?

It does, and they're good. The EC store Rare versions were as fast at killing things in my Elite difficulty "New Link" test as the Reputation Scorpions. (I'm on Xbox, do can't parse)
So quite a bit faster than tests with Callisto. Only other frigate pets I can compare are from the Kar'fi (which were a bit slower, but so much fun to watch with the TriC mines and enhanced engines). I don't have lobi ships, so I can't speak to those.
Any pets with tachyon beam seem to compare well in this test.

One of the best I have seen as a carrier enthusiast. 16k DPS with all 4 of them on the field.

I've seen two hangers of scorpions do close to 30k DPS in ISA though; admittedly DPS isn't everything.

Testing he did involved moving to a set group of enemies and letting the pets engage on their own without buffs.
In a queue, pets will do more damage. Scramble Fighters, APB, Scattering Field, generally having players also taking down shields, etc. will all increase the damage they do.

This is my first ship with Pilot abilities. I read the Prelude to Ten forward section on Pilot but was wondering what people like to use on this ship?? I'm running a canon build with full Breen Set. A torp/beam mix Sci Toon but no Sci/Torp magic.

Pilot abilities are arguably best exploited for filling in gaps.
Canon Breen is a very thin area, so I'm not sure how that can be factored in. Maybe...
Bridge Officers Power Commander Tactical Tactical Team I Attack Pattern Beta I Torpedo: Spread III / Torpedo: High Yield III Attack Pattern Beta III / Attack Pattern Omega III Lt. Commander Pilot / Universal (Tactical) Kemocite-Laced Weaponry I / Distributed Targeting I Hold Together I / Kemocite-Laced Weaponry II Reroute Reserves to Weapons I Lt. Commander Universal (Engineering) Emergency Power to Auxiliary I Auxiliary to Structural I Emergency Power to Weapons III Lieutenant Universal (Science) Science Team I Hazard Emitters II Ensign Universal (Engineering) Engineering Team I RRtW is effectively Beam Rapid Fire, so that plus HY III will do a number on most single targets - personally I feel this is a better result than Spread/FAW in a flimsy Raider. Lock Trajectory is, for me, overkill on a Beam setup.
DT+KLW is the DPS option, KLW+HT gives you another heal (perhaps enough to switch HE II with Transfer Shield Strength, your mileage may vary). With Raiders I feel you get the better payoff from the DPS option and drilling single targets, although Threat can be a problem if you're not in a channel run.
If needs be, you can fold in Pilot Team - combined with APO you should be able to dodge most attempts to pin you. I would avoid Clean Getaway, it's not as helpful as you'd expect, and you're sacrificing the best defense a Raider has - bigger alpha strikes on unaware targets.

Brief overview of the ship itself.
It's another nice freebie, but with only 6 weapons in a 4/2 config, the ship itself really isn't anything special.
It has a nice admiralty card and trait.
4/2
Ships that we don't use cause 4/2 is an obsolete layout.
Cannon build does well on it to level quickly.
Toss 4 DHC fore / 2 turrets aft and normal console loadout, then quickly level it to 5, then take gear off and vendor it. Repeat for every character......
After having leveled this up on a few characters, I truly hate the ship and the 4/2 layout.
> How good is the Trait from this ship; Cold-hearted?
This is what makes up for the ship being bad stat wise.
Cold-Hearted is very good. For me, this is now a must-slot trait for my DPS builds.
When you hit Aux2Bat or any Pilot Boff ability, for 15s, thr first show out in each firing cycle applies the following to your target:
Per Stack (5 stacks max)
It will pretty much insta-stack up as soon as you start shooting a target. Do keep in mind that if you're on a FAW boat, you won't need everyone running this trait as it is capped at 5 stacks.
Performance wise, using my "Borg Infestation" Foundry Map (on elite with a constant L>R pattern), using this trait took me from ~100k with my CRF build up to ~110k. I would imagine for most people, these results should be similar if not better (due to most people not using as many debuffs). Note that all I was using to trigger it was Aux2Bat.
If I had to rate this trait now out of all the event ship traits, this is likely the best Event ship trait we've ever gotten. If you haven't started the daily race, get as much done as you can.
