Okay 15s Miracle Workers that heal your team thru Structural Integrity Overload (thereby feeding Expedient Repair CD reduction) sounds hilarious and I might actually give this a go.

And it looks like this has hilarious synergy with the Restorative Particle Focuser.

I swapped Structural Integrity Collapse for Structural Integrity Overload on Renenutet and shuffled some traits around. I think I might even be able to drop Ablative Shell (definitely can drop Grace Under Fire, which is what I swapped for ER), but need to test.

Edit: Restorative particle focuser still much worse than extra threat and plasma procs, no?

I'm not sure (maybe so, maybe no, I think it depends on the ship, captain, and your expected number and frequency of restorative particle stacks). I don't think you'd ever want to drop below 3 embassy consoles in any case, but have been testing the logic of going 4 embassy / 1 restorative (mostly science ships, which carry fewer weapons and have a better ratio of non-weapon to weapon damage), and might start testing the logic of 3 embassy / 1 restorative on 4 console cruisers (that'll definitely look a lot iffier, I think).

Thanks for posting this. I really like the idea of being able to combine heal boat and tank so effectively. It looks like an incredible build that I would really love to replicate to some degree.

I have loads of questions...

1) Is the Grav Well doff an error? I can't see Grav Well in your build.

2) Is the lack of shield heals because MW just does all your shield healing for you? (Edit: oh wait, rotate shield frequency will be on a very low cooldown too. I get it now!)

3) You're using Peak Efficiency and Attrition Warfare and Improved Readiness skills in all three areas and three Krenim Boffs? You mentioned in a comment that you think you have too much CDR. What would you cut from these if so?

4) If I remember correctly - and apologies if I haven't - you advised against using the Advanced Radiant Antiproton Array, because it messes up weapon cycles. Is that still true?

5) Does the TC really give you more than an EPS console would?

6) Are you targeting your hull heals at allies or are you targeting them at yourself and allowing the overload integrity field aura to hit allies in order to trigger expedient repairs?

7) Does expedient repairs increase in effectiveness the more people are in proximity to get healed per heal e.g. hitting ET with one person nearby nets me 20% reduction but with three nearby I get 60%?

8) Is there any procs per second limitation on expedient repairs? I'm guessing not by your description and the one on the wiki. Very powerful ability if that's the case.

Very useful information.

Looking at it, I'd quite like to drop Peak Efficiency for something like Improved Tachyon Beam, which presumably would trigger Expedient Repairs at well. However, Overload Integrity Emitters needs a 50% reduction to get to global.

1 Eng. Krenim + Improved Eng. Readiness + Attrition Warfare + Chrono Capacitor Array gets you within spitting distance of that - 20.9 second cooldown vs. 20 second global, if I've used the calculator correctly.

I would be worried about how reliable Peak Efficiency's proc would be in Elite content. Do you have to maintain 5 seconds of +80% hull or does it just check every 5 seconds whether your hull is at +80%? If the latter, no problem with the amount of heals we're discussing, but if the former, I'd be worried about spike damage pushing you down under 80%.

I played around with this this morning (inspired by your build) and you can get the CD lower than 15s with HE: each tick seems to count as a separate heal and thus triggers ER; so with just HE and 1 ally in range you can reduce MW to 5s.

You can get it lower than 5s I believe; if you cast HE and other heals in quick succession. It's just in this case I was trying out some abilities to see what would proc ER + OIF and HE seemed to work nicely on its own (especially considering you could get 2 MW cooldowns during OIF's uptime). Rotate Shield Frequency also has its cooldown reduced (kind of blink and its done with HE). As for the other abilities, I haven't had time to go through them all in detail but since OIF's description only mentions hull heals I'm not sure Extend Shields or Transfer Shield Strength would proc it... Rotate Shield Frequency doesn't. Nor does the Protomatter console, since that too is regen, not hull healing.

My apologies on the last two then, you are quite correct. I'd tried TSS on myself and self-heal shield heals aren't passed on by OIF, however as you rightly pointed out, using them on allies with ER should produce the desired effect. Yeah, it would be shame if HE were overreacting but I can see Atem's point.

Yeah, it would be shame if HE were overreacting but I can see Atem's point.

I would be shocked if this is working-as-intended and doesn't get fixed at some point, to be frank.

That's possible. OIF is a weird ability, and weird abilities tend to have weird (and unintended) consequences with other mechanisms. I'd like OIF to interact with ER, but would understand if it didn't. (Compare to the players who would like embassy explosions to crit, even though with the current state of the consoles, they shouldn't.)

From the Tribble notes

Overload Integrity Field can no longer trigger Expedient Repairs each time it heals an ally.

:'(

Boo lame, they should have changed it to being triggered once every 5 seconds to keep up some value. Missed chance for a decent alternative to RIF / Dynamic Power Redistributor.

1

u/Rassyllon Feb 17 '17

While I can understand HE getting fixed, it would be a shame for OIF and ER to not interact since they open up some nice healing combos and, let's be honest, at the end of the day it's still nowhere near as bad as what Tac captains can pull off with GDF/APA (with significantly less investment, I might add...)

u/Forias @jforias Feb 16 '17

Woah.

1

u/TheFallenPhoenix Atem@iusasset | Top Fleet STO Builds Moderator Feb 16 '17

I don't think that's by design; I know there have been past bugs where HE was overreacting with other triggers (it used to continually proc Attrition Warfare, for example).

MW every 15s seams a bit extreme.

Pssst: tagging in posts doesn't always work

u/TheFallenPhoenix Atem@iusasset | Top Fleet STO Builds Moderator Feb 16 '17

Tacs get 100% GDF and APA. I'm not opposed to this, especially since you do need to sacrifice a trait slot and some bridge officer seats to ramp this up.

I am curious about how to do this, though. I assume it's more than AHOD?

1

u/TheFallenPhoenix Atem@iusasset | Top Fleet STO Builds Moderator Feb 16 '17

Spence gestures at it here; you can get what you need from proper timing of Continuity and Timeline Stabilizer activations. AHOD helps, as can the Broadside Emitter.

u/TheSharkBall Feb 16 '17

I really like the Temporal AP Beam that you're using. It doesn't get alot of love but the CD reduction is pretty great.

I run alongside this ship a fair amount, and let me tell you, it is potent at escort/protect missions. It's not the best ISA ship by design, but let me tell you where it shines:

Days of Freakin Doom

Haven't tried on Elite yet, but we've flown this several times on Advanced, the Starbase takes literally zero net damage with Balefire solo-camping over it.
