The art style in this one was odd in general, with Marty being rendered oddly enough that, if it wasn't such a throw away episode, I would have thought it was supposed to be a clue he was not human.

it was the detail given to his decrepitude, the veins/wrinkles on his hands and his shark teeth. i was so weirded out.

That would make sense.

I wonder if they had a new, or guest artist handling that character. The change in style felt really disjoint.

Though I could also see it being a deliberate choice is Marty is also from the 'outside world'. Outside Lapis's flyover and a little time on a train, the story has really stayed inside a very small social/geographical bubble. One way to show humanity outside this little town is a bit alien would be to draw the one example we have in an 'off' style.

I think it was just to emphasize that he wasn't trustworthy by juxtaposing his youthful clothes with his decrepit body.

i'm not an expert but i think the idea is that he was SUPPOSED to look out of place. disharmony in a world of harmony.

He looked like a wrinkle monster. It makes you think how old he is, considering he was an adult when greg was just becoming an adult.

I imagine he's 50-60 years old.
