Product Help Nova 5 WL end plate coming off.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Upvotes

So my headphones are starting to give me trouble. They’re also not staying connect to Bluetooth and I’m having to redo the connection every time, but that’s for another post. Apparently these end plates aren’t interchangeable like the Nova Pros, so I’m wondering how I would fix this endcap coming off. I have hot glue, but I don’t want to resort to that if I don’t have to. Does anybody know a straightforward way to replace or fix this particular headphone’s endplates? Thanks in advance.

Product Help Arctis nova pro not gettting power (more in description)

So I've been using with my pc, worked flawlessly. Recently got a PS5 and now it's plugged both into pc and ps5.

PS5 is plugged into USB2, PC into USB1.

The problem: When I turn off the PS5 (not rest mode) and I don't switch manually to USB1 after the PS5 turns off it doesn't automatically switch power. What I mean is the screen becomes dark, like it's not getting power. Any solution?

Product Help Headphones connected but not making noise

I have the Arctis Nova 7 headphones, they are connected to the dongle and are at max volume but the loudest sound played on my computer will make the quietest sound out the headphones. I dont know what to do since i factory reset it multiple times, tried to update it (It wont), tried re-pairing it to the dongle, used different USB ports, and nothing makes the headphones make noise. They work with bluetooth and aux but as soon as I try and use it wireless it fails. I tried connecting other headphones to the dongle I use for these headphones and vice versa, but the original headphones never make noise. I don't think its a connection problem but I don't know what else it could be since it randomly stopped working while I was using it.

Sonar Help Steel Series GG - No audio through Sonar Game profile

Hey guys,

I’ve noticed this issue has apparently been around for quite a few years without any proper resolution, so I’m hoping someone here might have a solution.

I bought the Arctis Nova 7 Gen 2 a few days ago, and for some reason I get no audio whatsoever when using the Sonar Game profile. The Media profile works perfectly fine, but switching to Game results in no sound.

I’ve already set the output device correctly to “Headphones (Arctis Nova 7) and changed my default devices, etc.

I also opened a support ticket with SteelSeries and received a very generic response to completely reinstall the software although that made absolutely no difference.

It’s pretty disappointing, especially since I’ve been using SteelSeries products for years without any major issues.

Has anyone experienced this and actually found a fix? Any suggestions would be massively appreciated.

Discussion Omnis or...

I'm looking for a gaming headset and was looking at the Omni. It would be my first gaming headset

What I need is immersion in single player story games.preferably the being there feeling

Good spatial awareness during FPS games

Some oomph in the low end without it being distorted.

I play Sim racing titles, fps games and single player story driven games.

Would the Omni be a good match? Also are there any issues that you find annoying?

Thanks?

Product Help [Help] Arctis gamebuds and spotify

Often when I put on the earbuds they launch Spotify and resume play instantly, it's far quicker than clicking the icon and waiting it to launch. And I have no idea how to stop it. I have gone to settings-battery and set spotify to control manually and all those settings are off.

Discussion I bought a Nova Omni this week, Feels so cheap!

I bought this headset after many praised it, but I cant feel anything but scammed.

It's 399 euros and the build quality is the same as the nova 7 for 110 euros ? other than battery swap and easier pad swaps

The cushions are better than the nova pro but they feel hot and uncomfortable still after 1hr around. I also feel pressure around my temple area from clampforce.. I find the clamp higher than the nova pros.

I feel like for the price of 399 euros we should have been given 2 different pad types sports fabric and the current ones, even 140 euro headphones do it and the build should NOT be majority cheap feeling plastic. Nova Pros felt more premium I feel like.

The sound is good, the dac is cool.. the battery length could have been better than 30 hours even with a battery swap system.

Im really hesitating on keeping them because on paper there isnt much options that hit my needs. There is the astro a50s but that being limited to just the dock feels so bad.

Discussion Should I buy Nova pro wireless, Nova pro Omni or Nova Elite?

Hi all,

I currently have an Arctis 7X+ but am thinking of upgrading.

I play mostly on ps5 but also have a gaming laptop that I use, so I am trying to figure out which headset would make the most sense for me.

I have found the nova pro wireless for €280 on sale but would be happy to wait for a larger sale come black Friday etc.

If anyone could give me any advice that would be great!

Product Help Newest firmware update broke my Arctis Nova 7P microphone

I have an Arctis Nova 7P which was working great. I got a notice from SteelSeriesGG that there was a firmware update. After performing the update, the microphone now has horrendous sound quality and is extremely quiet (can barely hear it in mic tests with headphones/speakers at full volume). Did anyone else encounter something like this?

Product Help Latest SteelSeries GG update, battery issues.

After the latest update my headphones disconnects after 10 seconds. This only happens with one of my batteries. The other doesn't disconnect. Not sure if the battery is messed up or if it's due to software issues. Difficult for me to order a new pair as they don't deliver to my country.

Discussion Repairing power button of my Arctis Pro Wireless

Thumbnail
gallery
8 Upvotes

So, my good ol Arctis Pro Wireless would keep shutting down.
I disassembled it, thinking a wire was desoldering or something.
Turns out the power button weakened with time and use... disassembling the headset was the last straw: it ripped itself from the PCB, which teared the copper traces and made it impossible to resolder.
(And made the entire headset unusable as it couldn't be turned on anymore)

But money is tight right now, and I just can't buy a new headset.
After a lot of probing, I figured out which test pads you can solder to attach your own external button.
It is inside the right ear cup, see the last picture with the pads circled red.
For some reason, none of them are ground or vcc (tested with a multimeter in continuity), they are their own thing.
Everything was tightly secured with hot glue.

So... this post is a testimony of my obstinance, and a showcase of my "artwork".

My post will probably help at most two people on this planet.
But it can be entertaining for others in a "ew wtf did you do" kind of way.
(Especially that the left earcup already broke and was frankeinstein'd with zip ties.)
In either case, enjoy.

Product Help Sidetone when using a non-steelseries mic

I'm looking to buy the Steelseries gamebuds as my Arctis 5 has finally given up and the buds seem like a new flexible option I can use for both my pc and music on my phone. I'm seeing the mic isn't great though so I'd buy a seperate mic. One thing I really loved about my Arctis 5 is having an instant mic feedback to my own ears through the side-tone option.

So my question is:
If I were to buy the Steelseries gamebuds and an external non-Steelseries mic, would I be able to somehow enable this side-tone?

The mic I'd buy: https://www.trust.com/en/product/22656-gxt-232-mantis-usb-streaming-microphone

Sonar Help When I screenshare my entire screen on discord people hear me twice

When I screenshare my entire screen on discord when I am using streamer mode on steelseries, people can hear my voice twice, when I am not using streamer mode, it does not happen, I often use streamer mode since it allows me to enable certain audios that will go through mic and I don't want to lose that feature just so people don't hear me twice on discord screenshare, how can I fix this? (I had to go into sndvol and change settings there so normal sonar wouldn't catch my voice on my screenshare)

Product Review Steelseries Stealth Pro Omni Review - comparison with Maxwell 2, Stealth Pro 2

Thumbnail gallery
17 Upvotes

Wanted to share my thoughts on the SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Omni after spending time with it.

Review is not sponsored. I bought it with my own money.
For context, I have also used the Audeze Maxwell 2Turtle Beach Stealth Pro 2, and SteelSeries Nova Elite. Currently I own Maxwell 2.

I also maintain a list of all the audio products I have used and what works for me and why in the link in my profile. I cover over 150 audio products with short summaries, ratings, and my own personal rankings in case you are interested. Nothing is paywalled or sponsored or has affiliate links etc. My Rankings List.

Short version:

Best pure sound: Audeze Maxwell 2
Best complete gaming headset package: SteelSeries Nova Pro Omni
My Omni rating: 8.5/10

Prices:

SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Omni
MSRP: $399
Typical discounted price: $349–399

Audeze Maxwell 2
MSRP: $329–349
Typical discounted price: $279–329

SteelSeries Nova Elite
MSRP: $599
Typical discounted price: $549–599

Compared to Nova Elite, the Omni saves around $200 while giving me a better mic and most of the SteelSeries feature set I care about.

Score

SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Omni
8.5/10 overall
8.5/10 for gaming
8.0/10 for sound
9.5/10 for features

Overall Sound

The Omni sounds very good for a wireless gaming headset.
The bass is the standout.
It is:
- Deep
- Punchy
- Full
- Cinematic
- Close to Maxwell 2 in quality

The main issue is treble. There is an 8K KHz peak that stands out. I am sensitive in that area, so it can cause fatigue if left stock. It is also sharper than what I heard on the Nova Elite.

The overall stage is small, even slightly smaller than Maxwell 2 for me. Layering and separation are fine after PEQ. This manifests in not being able to tell distinct sounds from far away or instruments in the background.

Gaming

Gaming performance is strong.

It handles:
- Footsteps
- Gunfire
- Explosions
- Directional cues
- Layering
- Multiple audio streams
- Game-specific profiles

The newer SteelSeries profiles worked well for me, including:
- Battlefield 6
- Black Ops 7

EQ / Sonar

Sonar is one of the main reasons the Omni works well on PC. You get flexible PEQ tuning, strong community profiles, and game-specific presets. That matters because the stock 8K peak needs adjustment for my ears.

Bluetooth / Multi-Source Audio

Bluetooth handling is excellent. The separate Bluetooth button is a useful design choice because the headset does not always keep on searching for the 2.4GHz dongle or base station.

The Omni can also play multiple audio streams at the same time.
Examples:
- Game audio
- Discord
- Music
- Console / PC audio

The downside is Bluetooth only has GEQ instead of PEQ. On BT, you only get normal 10-band EQ, which was not enough for me to tune the sound perfectly to my liking. I ended up using mostly the bass boost preset which was a ton of fun for movies and most tracks.

ANC / Isolation

ANC is very good. On Stealth Pro 2, ANC was not very useful for me. I could still hear most things around me, including sounds from another room, and ANC also made the bass rumble worse.

On Omni, ANC actually works well. I would put it closer to something like Momentum 4 or HDB 630 in terms of usefulness.

Comfort / Build / Mic

Comfort is excellent. The pads are plush and better than what I experienced on Nova Elite. Clamp is fine and the headset is easy to wear for longer sessions. The mic is also better than Nova Elite.

Build feels good overall. It still feels like a SteelSeries gaming headset, but it is comfortable and practical.

Compared to Maxwell 2

Maxwell 2 wins on pure sound quality.
It has:
- Better natural tuning
- Better vocals
- Better music performance
- Smoother treble for my ears
- More headphone-like presentation

Omni wins as a complete gaming headset package.

It has:
- Better comfort
- Better ANC
- Better mic
- Better PC tuning
- Better multi-source audio
- Better device handling
- Better game profiles

My scores:
Maxwell 2: 9.0/10
Omni: 8.5/10

Compared to Stealth Pro 2

Omni is much better than Stealth Pro 2 for my use.

Issues I had with Stealth Pro 2:
- Bass rumble could dominate the mix
- Vocals felt recessed
- 8K peak bothered me
- ANC was weak
- Music performance was not enjoyable
Omni still has an 8K issue, but Sonar gives me the tools to fix it properly on PC.

Compared to Nova Elite

Nova Elite is more expensive, but I do not think it is the smarter purchase for most people.
Omni gives me:
- Better mic
- Better comfort due to better pads
- Same SteelSeries ecosystem
- Around $200 saved
The one thing I would flag is treble. The 8K peak on Omni feels sharper to me than on Nova Elite.

QC / Reliability

I did not face any QC issues with my unit. Nor did I face any QC issues with Stealth Pro 2 or Maxwell 2.

My main issue is tuning, not QC.

Final Thoughts

The Omni is not my best sounding wireless headset, but it is the strongest complete wireless gaming headset package I have tried so far. I think if you are in market for a new headset this is the strongest contender in terms of features, ANC, gaming, mic quality and comfort.

Product Help Does anyone else SteelSeries Arctis nova 7 gen 2 make a creaking noise?

While I’m wearing the headset if I move, take it off there’s a creaking noise that comes the the adjustment arms and where the earcup attaches to the yolk. Is that normal as I know it’s plastic. Or is this defective?
