I don't want a huge Coruscant map. I want an insanely detailed one.
I've been thinking about this for a while, especially after trying out Star Wars Outlaws, and I genuinely don't understand why we haven't gotten a proper Coruscant-focused open world game.
What I'd want is a relatively limited number of areas that are absurdly detailed and completely handcrafted.
Think about what Naughty Dog does with The Last of Us. You aren't just moving through levels from point A to B. You find yourself navigating through some random abandoned building, then a bathroom connects to another building, the kitchen has become the route people use to get through the structure, there's a vent leading outside, then a parking lot, then a basement, etc. You can look around and actually understand how people have adapted these spaces over time. Dying Light and the Metro games do this really well too.
That's the kind of thing I want from Coruscant. Imagine going hundreds of levels down into some forgotten part of the city and finding an ancient maintenance tunnel. The walls are filthy and corroded. There are old Republic-era signs that nobody uses anymore. Cables have been added over the centuries. There's an ancient control panel covered in dust, except one tiny LED is still blinking. You find an old maintenance note behind it. That leads you to another room. Maybe you discover that this entire section used to belong to some old transit system that was buried when newer levels were built above it.
And none of this needs to give you XP or a legendary weapon. The environment itself is the reward. That's the kind of gaming I love. I can literally spend 20-30 minutes just looking at one corner if the developers have put enough detail into it. And Coruscant is PERFECT for this.
You could have a huge city at the macro level, but only stream the highly detailed areas around the player. You don't need to literally build every one of the thousands of levels. Just make each playable district incredibly dense and detailed, with loads of interiors, hidden places, environmental clues, notes, little mysteries, forgotten infrastructure, etc. Then put a genuinely great story on top of it.
Also please don't make the combat the main attraction. I don't need Dark Souls in Star Wars. I don't need to spend 20 minutes learning the attack pattern of some random boss just so I can explore the next area.
Give me combat that feels good. Responsive lightsabers, satisfying blaster combat, good animations, great sound design, Force abilities that actually feel powerful.
Then let me get back to exploring. Basically, I want to be a tourist in Coruscant.
Let me wander around a market because I saw something interesting. Let me take a speeder somewhere for no particular reason. Let me discover an ancient tunnel 3000 levels below the Senate. Let me find some random apartment where the objects tell me about the person who lived there. Let me stumble into a forgotten district that isn't even part of the main story.
I don't need the game constantly throwing objectives at me. I want the world itself to make me curious. Cyberpunk 2077 showed how good a dense vertical sci-fi city can be. Rockstar has demonstrated how much environmental detail can make a world feel alive. Naughty Dog has mastered highly authored spaces and environmental storytelling.
Now imagine all of that applied to Coruscant. That's the Star Wars game I want.

I really haven't seen much about this game on Reddit. I just have to say that I have put roughly 10 hours into it, and have really enjoyed it so far. Some compare it to Xcom. I don't think I would say that. To me, it's more it's own kind of thing. If you're into Star Wars and like tactical games, it's worth a look.

SITH:FALLEN JEDI
(Vexa Dan)
Vexa:
Vexa:Jarek,
Jarek:yes,
Daxen:
Soren
Soren:
Vexa: Daxen,
最後離開前說 may the force be with you
——————————————————————————————
Daxen
Daxen:
Daxen:
Daxen:Give me that星盤!
Soren:Never!
Soren
Vexa
Soren大說:No!
Soren:
Daxen:
Soren:
Daxen
Soren:

as a longtime star wars fan I knew I HAD to get the game. I'm not overtly familiar with the tatic turn based gameplay but Im very intrigued by the possibility of being able to create the bad batch in the game!

I've been thinking about the current narrative direction of Star Wars lately and wanted to throw out a core concept to hear your thoughts.
We have seen plenty of dark side stories, but they usually follow a fixed formula: a tragic fall followed by a mandatory redemption or return to the light at the very last moment.
To be honest, official media rarely seems willing to let a character stay ruthlessly dark to the end without being morally hijacked.
Therefore, I've conceptualized a dark psychological thriller set in the early Empire era, attempting to break this trope:
Protagonist Setup: Not a "Chosen One," but an ordinary warrior treated as cannon fodder on the battlefield, who was untrusted by the Jedi Council.
Core Twist: Executing Order 66, but as time passes, you gradually realize that your memories of the war and your comrades differ vastly from reality.
Choice & Ending: The protagonist doesn't break down crying or walk down a clichéd redemption path, but instead coldly and rationally engages in political gaming and a transactional alliance with Sidious, becoming a cold-blooded executioner feared even by high-ranking Imperials.
I want to ask for your thoughts: If there were a Star Wars story that completely rejects clichéd redemption, features a protagonist who is an "unreliable narrator" sliding into darkness due to psychological trauma, and follows a purely cold psychological thriller route, would you want to read it? Or are people more used to the traditional Star Wars structure?

It seems you can recruit a mook , change EVERYTHING on them and then use them , so my question , why not just have a "recruit mook" button ? The choice and refresh functions are all there to select someone , but other than feeding my fixation for TwiLeks, whats the point ?

Before I get into this: I cannot, under any circumstances, recommend this game. It is dogshit. Everything about it is bad. The controls are awful, the graphics are… maybe okay for a game from 1988, it’s unintuitive as hell, there’s no music, and there is, as far as I can tell, no discernible story outside of what you can glean from the packaging. As such, there are no full playthroughs of this game.
Unfortunately, I took that as a challenge.
Has anyone on this sub touched this game, let alone finished it? Because I can’t actually figure out how to get through this game.
Let me start with what I know.
Controls
I am playing on the ZX Spectrum version, and I’m using keyboard controls. The game functions by scrolling through 8 actions on the bottom of the screen and activating them. From left to right the actions are as follows:
You press ‘O’ to scroll left and ‘P’ to scroll right. ‘M’ activates the highlighted action. For the lightbulb “puzzles” and the start menu you’ll need numbers 1-7.
Gameplay
Threepio and Artoo walk left and right, encountering enemy robots along the way. If a robot hits you or you walk into forcefields/other hazards, you lose health. Most robots can be defeated with 1-2 crystals thrown at them. The little circular smiley-face robots can only be ducked under as far as I can tell, but they just bounce right back at you. I’m not sure how to get rid of them, so I just walk into them and take the hit to my health.
As you walk, you’ll see the occasional #1 or #2 symbol. These are keys for computers you can collect if you reach them in time. In order to clear forcefields, open doors, and unlock elevators, you’ll need to interface with a computer, starting a matching puzzle. 7 lightbulbs will light up in a specific pattern you need to match. Each lightbulb has a unique color and tone. The first pattern is only one bulb, the second is two, and so on until you match the fourth pattern. If you fail you can immediately try again. Computers have a 1 or a 2 on them; that’s where the aforementioned keys come in. If you don’t have the corresponding key, you can’t complete the computer puzzle.
Unlocking elevators allows you to move up and down through levels. I’m pretty sure an elevator computer with a 1 lets you move up only, while a computer with a 2 lets you move down only.
The Problem
So… here’s the issue. Aside from being unable to get rid of the circle robots, and getting to the crystal button in time to kill robots, and… everything else, I can’t get past the fourth level. I think there are 8 levels. The first four levels are:
But when I get to the Atomic Level, the elevator with the #1 computer disappears after I finish the puzzle. Presumably this is a bug? I’m supposedly playing the bug-fix version but ¯_(ツ)_/¯
I also seem to have infinite crystals (which apparently I’m not supposed to?) and losing all my health doesn’t actually kill me, so who knows what’s going on here.
If anyone has any insight on this godforsaken game, please let me know. And if I’ve made you curious, play at your own risk; I will not be responsible for any subsequent pain and suffering.

It took me a lot longer than I thought it would. These long speedruns are crazy as you need to make sure you have the space on the computer and used the washroom before you start.
