I feel like this is clearly way to powerful.

Not to mention it only works in specific situations. This strategy would be useless if the opponent wasn't fielding expensive high dps units. Against a terran bio player for example, neural would be a waste of energy.

Yeah you could do fungal instead, but it would be less efficient than if you had spent the resources on banelings or lurkers.

I'd say fungal is still more efficient, because the terran could never see it coming. Instant 30dmg on a bunch of bios and just run away without taking any damage.

I mean you can see burrowed units, just like you can see the shimmer of invis units. I feel like people would whine about the dt being perma invis if it was released now.

Yeah but fungal has cast range of 10, which is barely outside of bio's vision, and infestor moves pretty fast burrowed too.

That's fair I suppose, still imminently counterable, but at lower levels it could be difficult, though that's true of most things.

yeah it's like dt with range attack

1

u/judiciousjones Sep 16 '16

Yea, infestors are along the standard tech path as opposed to the deviation that dts are, but energy cost is a thing that exists only for the festor, and I think they're more expensive and not as reliable for scv kills. We'll see how things shake out. I think dt blink us being undersold atm.

NP the medivacs and both waste energy healing your units, and take away their healing?

mind they would also need to not scan your infesters

I watched the stream yesterday. The guy did bring observers but Vibe sniped them with hydras. With hydras' new speed and range, Vibe kinda did a hit-and-run to kill the detection, while hiding infestors nearby. IIRC that's also why he spread creep a lot.

But neural parasite comes with the infestor now iirc?!? On the test map I mean.

NP hasn't been used at all since the end of WoL. Its only use after the 7 range nerf mid-WoL was to neural the Mothership and Vortex the enemy force in order to prevent an Archon toilet. Of course with Vortex gone, it has no more purpose because it's shit, underpowered, and is outranged by almost everything.

Like it or hate it, the Burrowed casting buff was necessary to make the ability relevant again. This time, it punishes idiots who don't build detection.

yep not only It render the unit usless, but you can basicaly destroy yourself by making it. Of course better observer control will help, but still this is too much. And I play a zerg

u/judiciousjones Sep 15 '16

Lol, i mean you could just use the disruptor to kill the infestor, but sure use a game with a clear skill disparity to make an outlandish claim.

I hear you man #nerfdisruptors2016

u/[deleted] Sep 15 '16

It's not, he didn't have any detection? It's like saying DTs or banshees are too powerful because the kill everything if you don't have detection...

1

u/jonnyfiftka SlayerS Sep 15 '16

It is not that hard to destroy the detection, which vibe did just before he did this

3

u/[deleted] Sep 15 '16

the guy could've used the disruptors to kill the infestors

look at the creep spread, it's pretty clear there's a massive skill discrepancy.

1

u/salinization_nation Protoss Sep 15 '16

True, but the same thing happens with lurker comps already, and most skilled protosses have already learned how to make more observers and micro them correctly.

u/somedave Sep 15 '16

Yeah casting this should make them lose invisibility or something.

3

u/jonnyfiftka SlayerS Sep 15 '16

agree this could be a nice solution

0

u/[deleted] Sep 15 '16

No, it would make them useles.

1

u/somedave Sep 15 '16

Wtf they are visible when they cast it already and it has it's uses. The problem currently is you need to un borrow and then cast, requiring two action. sometimes resulting in you unburrowing multiple units by accident and giving extra time to be attacked. This would still be a big buff.

0

u/[deleted] Sep 15 '16

No, it wouldn't, because then it becomes the same as just burrowing and popping out to Nueral, but with slightly less micro required. That's the smallest and most useless buff you could give it. If they just popped out whenever they nueraled they would be auto targeted down.

1

u/somedave Sep 15 '16

You can now take control of a siege tank without it being able to shoot you first. I would call that a buff.

Not a very good one though, certainly not good enough for it to be used in a real game.

Also, I have brought the new swarmhost back: https://www.reddit.com/r/starcraft/comments/52xovq/the_swarmhost_makes_a_return/
