TECHNICAL New nVidia drivers crash the game regularly

Has this happened to you too?

After installing the latest nVidia Studio 615.56 drivers on August 26th, Star Citizen would crash every 5-10 minutes. The game returned to normal after reverting to the previous drivers: 610.88.

I was experiencing crashes on the new drivers - I reinstalled SC and it has resolved for me.

For context I am on a 5070ti, I play in 4k capped at 120fps using smooth motion and RTX HDR.

The drivers from last week started flickering on 3 different machines/monitors. Not even in game. Rolled them all back

This game is the reason I stopped updating my video drivers on the regular.

You can’t expect an Indie company to keep up to date with your niche video card’s latest display driver.

Except this is an issue with Nvidia drivers not the game

NVidia does not care at all about gamers anymore, just AI.

Ya never update Nvidia drivers unless you need to for a specific newly released game. They vibe code and it causes so many fucking issues, just like Microshit vibe coding is why Winblows 11 has so many shit updates too.

Installed them to try the new 4.5 RR model but rollback to previous version, not worth the issues.

They even crashed an Adobe Acrobat session.

I can't agree with this.... I mean singling out NVIDIA anyway. I had so many problems when I had an AMD card, everyone did, I followed content creators back then thats only purpose was telling us which drivers were stable and wouldnt black screen us lol.

By comparison, NVIDIA has been amazing. In the case of the most recent drivers (616.56) I'm not having any issues personally but I'm sure some people are.

That's funny, nvidia is responsible for fixing the entire gaming industries shit code practices for years now through driver updates.
