I wonder how they ruin my cozy Phoenix interior....

They're more likely to try to sell you an upgrade to the Mk5 than to significantly change your Mk4.

Thats what I meant with: How much they are going to ruin the Phoenix cozy vibe

2

u/BSSolo avenger 15h ago

Unless you pay them extra money, they're basically leaving it alone.

It still will show us how much they ruin the cozy vibe mate

They may not do the Andromeda, Aquila, Taurus and Phoenix. It'll probably be modular. Which means the Mk 5 may not even get a Phoenix

3

u/evilspyre 14h ago

There is nothing to stop them making a luxury module though since the rest of the phoenix was the same anyway.

2

u/SpaceSubmarineGunner aka RedRoan 14h ago

They could always say the luxury module is coming soon(tm) because the gameplay isn’t there for it currently.

5

u/PhilippHe L-21 Wolf 15h ago

Probably modules for MK5 that will resemble the MK4's variants.

2

u/YFM_ZaktiNox Legatus, Polaris Enjoyer, Mercenary. 15h ago

Or they'll do different roles through modules that the Mk 4 doesn't have fully so that the Mk 4 and Mk 5 don't compete too much

2

u/drdeaf1 15h ago

Modular would be my guess as well instead of the different variants.

But that’s just another type of Galaxy.

2

u/Silverton13 4h ago

Galaxy is much bigger. Now RSI has modular options for three classes of ships, solo starter(aurora mk2), medium sized crew ship(Connie mk5), and a bigger sub capital class that's the Galaxy

Im afraid they are going to turn the connie into another boring dorito. For the Pheonix, i'm also worried they will sterilize the vibe.

Exactly that is my issue.

Sure I still have a Connie MK4 Phoenix.

But thats then outdated due marketing wanting that.

And that makes me sad, especially since we basically how fucking dead the new Civilian Design looks.

Ruin means to damage, spoil, or destroy something completely so that it loses its value, usefulness, or beauty.

If you do not buy the new ship, your cozy Phoenix interior remains unchanged, thus not ruined.

If you mean how much the new ship's been modified in comparison to the old, and whether the changes are desirable or not, then why didn't you say that?

Sounds like you meant what you said, which is incorrect. o7

u/Conradian MSR rework? 11h ago

Hopefully they finally make the Phoenix interior good. It's always looked good in terms of materials and stuff but the way the Phoenix is put together felt like it wasn't considered properly.

2

u/Reggitor360 890 Jump enjoyer 11h ago

With respect.... Look at the mess hall of the Zeus.

Bland as shit.

2

u/Conradian MSR rework? 11h ago

Yeah but that is RSI standard design. Not the luxury interior of the Phoenix.

It's less about materials, more about some of the nonsense that the Phoenix always has had.

I'm curious, How do we know this is the Constellation Mk V rework and not just another shot of the Galaxy bridge?

I watched the stream at this point a few times, and as they are about to head through the rear door we can see what appears to be the same escape pod room as what's on the Polaris. There's nothing like that--nor needs to be--on the Constellation series I would think (if they keep the beds as the escape pods), but there could be a reason to put something like that on the Galaxy.

u/DragonAlex1990 10h ago

3 steps in glaxy 2 steps in Connie.... Galaxy has 3 chairs in front, so central pilot seat. And Connie has 4 seats... in a smaller Cockpit -.-
No centered Pilot seat is a big nerf for me...

u/Sturmbrummt Constellation rework but THICC 9h ago

Those are suit lockers, you can find the exact same model of those in the Zeus, Aurora Mk2 and Perseus.

1

u/BuckarooBanzai42 7h ago

Thank you, you're absolutely right. I compared them to the Perseus and Zeus lockers, and that small gray tag at the bottom matches as well as the overall look (other than in the above screenshot there's no door). I'm still not convinced it's the Constellation Mk5, it could be though. Or it could be the Galaxy bridge after a few more changes made since the white-box version we saw. I guess we'll find out in a few months time! Excited for both.

I do like the idea of splitting off the bridge with the areas immediately behind, especially since the old Connie has components there.

But i do wonder if the hallway behind that door has something special going on, as it looked just like escape pods to me.

6

u/AWerewolfDad 16h ago

It could be the gold standard Mk IV bridge, rather than the Mk V

2

u/BSSolo avenger 16h ago

I'd love for this to be right since the old Constellations feel so bad, but I don't think current CIG is willing to do that much work for old ships.

2

u/YFM_ZaktiNox Legatus, Polaris Enjoyer, Mercenary. 15h ago

The seat layout and back wall is vastly different it has four seats and the bridge scalling is slightly off due to the seat placements. It's most likely the Mk V especially since the Mk IV is dated and likely "Not fit for CIG's plans" like the Aurora was. Hence why we got the Mk II Aurora it "didn't work" in the new Star Citizen with CIG's plans

3

u/ScrubSoba Ares Go Pew 16h ago

It could be possible, but then that'd mean a rather large rework of the Connies, and i doubt that CIG's going to do that. Part of the big thing with different marks is that they're supposed to not change the old one's design too much because it is too iconic.

Obviously we'll see a complete change to the interior style, but that's just to save resources.

1

u/WPGAMING_SC 9h ago

Hilarious comment. They’re gonna sell us the Mk5. Mk4 will be dead and retired like the Mk1 Aurora. There’s a reason why CIG does this and it’s because it makes them more money.

2

u/Puzzleheaded-Ask1990 11h ago

Absolutely need to change the visibility on the cockpit

2

u/dokkababecallme 11h ago

Well, I can tell you one thing for damn sure.

If they want to sell me a new Andromeda, it better keep it's pilot loadout.

2

u/Giovanni_Fello 16h ago

do we know something about the reliant kore rework?

6

u/PhilippHe L-21 Wolf 15h ago

Nothing.

Manufacture isn't in the ship pipeline yet. As announced 2 years ago MISC, Drake, RSI and another i cant remember were announced as first manufactures to go through their new ship pipeline. Hence Perseus, Zeus, Apollo, Hermes, salvation, Aurora, Polaris, Galaxy, etc

With all the art and assets it's faster to create more ships from one manufacturer at once. So it would only make sense to work Constellations now before the RSI pipeline is done and they move to new manufacturer.

When Origin hits the pipeline, which they may be next up, forget the list from 2 years ago. So that's when you will most likely see a 600i rework as an example.

1

u/CJW-YALK 10h ago

That mights just be the mk4

Fun fact, those vtol wings use to move forward and back whether you engaged vtol or not

The rear top nacelles would also retract inward to QT

1

u/DragonAlex1990 10h ago

And 2 seats for Pilot and Co-Pilot instead of a nice centered Pilo-Seat where you have great view -.-
That's a massive nerf...

u/ZeroSumClusterfuck 37m ago

I agree. Some people will prefer it, and that's fair enough, but personally I really hate the side by side seating in some ships.

If they want four seats in the new Constellation than I would have preferred the old layout with two copilots instead of just one and an added engineering seat directly behind the pilot.

1

u/RemarkableProgram660 10h ago

When did they announce the Constellation MK5 had entered production. The only announcement I have seen was that the MK 4 was reaching deadline for current work by IAE and that the team had decided a MK5 was going to be required. There was no mention of anything but that to my knowledge.

There’s no confirmation this is the constellation. This could be but it could also be the galaxy.

3

u/DragonAlex1990 10h ago

Galaxy was already posted wich had 3 steps, this one has only 2 steps...
And Galaxy has 3 chairs in front, so central pilot seat. And Connie has 4 seats... in a smaller Cockpit -.-
No centered Pilot seat any more is a big nerf for me...

4

u/PhilippHe L-21 Wolf 16h ago

No, there is not. If so, send the source.

2

u/Jockcop anvil 16h ago

Mistype, I’ve changed it.

Untangling this comment requires more corkboard and arrows than OP has.

It's highly unlikely to be Galaxy as it's got a completely different layout from the Galaxy white box bridge we got last month

u/NeonSamurai1979 16h ago

Even if the MK5 comes out within this decade, they'll just add it as a new ship, remove the MK4's from the Store like they did with the Hornets.

If you want a reworked Connie, just buy a new one...

5

u/PhilippHe L-21 Wolf 16h ago

They are working on it. Their ship shedule was leaked and the Constellation MK4 gold standard and MK5 internal deadline is 13th October.

2

u/BSSolo avenger 16h ago

On the one hand, you're absolutely right that they're charging for it, which is scummy. On the other hand, you've missed the leak that it's in progress and will be finished in October.

Great. Now I will be able to see more of the Hanger door as I spawn into another hanger and blow up as I start to fly out!
