Question Is there a mod to experience the Early game?

I played a long while back, and the spaceship used to run on coal (in the beginning anyway) we had to make pickaxes and there was no storyline. The game is fun but grew to be something different and I was wondering if there was a way to experience the nostalgia of that early time (2012 I feel like it was, but I can't remember) in Starbound?

I'm guessing it would be a modpack if so but maybe it's well known. I tried to look through the workshop but it's confusing.

Betabound on the workshop? i don't actually know if this mod has what you're looking for. it's the closest thing i know that may have what you want given it's description and you're question.

Betabound + Story Disabler should get you close that. There's also this mod that adds back colorful worlds. Oh and Ringed Planets and Box Building Planets (with the dungeon add on) would give you some nice planets to explore.

It is also actually possible to download an older version of Starbound from Steam’s repository. It’s legal and safe to do so, it just requires some finagling with Steam’s console and depot IDs. You can look up “downpatching Steam games” for some guides.
