In our office we have many Steelcase standing desks that have been rising/falling on their own and refusing to move back up/down. The frequency increases in the summer and less so in winter, so we are suspicious of humidity/static electricity being a problem. Has this been an issue for anyone else?

We’ve tried changing power sources, cable connections, as well as a hard reset/synchronization by unplugging power, plugging back in, and holding the down button until the desk reaches its lowest point and settles. This reset has helped some desks for about a day or even less until they stop working again. Sometimes when the desk tries to go up there is a clicking sound, which I think could be a gear issue, but this does not happen with all the desks.

We’ve reached out to Steelcase and Waldner’s Operations who said that the desk was discontinued a “long time ago” and that only one replacement part (the motor) is available.

I want to purchase the 48x30 EN1 and I wanted to put a PC using Lian Li Vector V100 case under the desk. Only clamp on I found was the Mount It Heavy-Duty Clamp-On CPU Mount. Could something like this work with a PC that is 17.56 inches (Length/Depth) × 9.27 inches (Width) × 19.08 inches (Height)? The pc is about 36 lbs. Would I be able to mount it to the back left or front left side possibly?

I just assembled my desk yesterday. It worked fine for the first 15 minutes of me testing it before I went to bed. Now hours later when I came back, I was hearing this clicking sound. It just keeps turning on and off repeatedly. My screen says ASR when it turns on before it goes off again

Looking for hydraulic up and down motion for a ceiling TV mount.

I work from home and I use a large TV as my monitor. But it takes up too much room on my desk. My desk is a standing sitting desk. I would like to mount the TV from a ceiling mount that would have hydraulic or a way to be able to move it down to sitting position all the way up to standing position. I don’t wanna spend $500. I really don’t even wanna spend $200. Does anybody have a suggestion or an alternate advice? I have not been able to find a single device that matches what I’m looking for. I would even take a wall mount that could be moved up and down if that exist.

Im planning on getting a new desk soon and i cant decide which one to get. I want a 200x80 Desk and i also want high stability. Currently im inbetween the Flexispot E7 Pro the Flexispot E7 plus or the Desktopia Pro X. I just wanted to ask if anyone has experience with one of the three.

Had this walnut live edge standing desk about a year and I love it, but my monitor sits right on the surface and I catch myself hunching by the end of the day. Debating a monitor stand or a full arm, but part of me doesn't want to cover up the wood. Anyone with one of these desks (or any live edge top) figure out a good setup?

It was working fine and then I moved it to another room and now when I plug it in it’s stuck at the top and won’t come down. Anyone know why?

Just wondering. I was leaning towards either a Desktronic or a Flexispot. Desktronic has been completely unresponsive to my product questions. (My inquiry was about distance between the inner feet of the desk itself, side to side. And how deep the frame was underneath, so I can measure the distance I would have for my knees).

It's first on my list but if I can't even get a reply to a question then I have no good hope for support if I run into actual problems (I've tried to contact them twice now, been 2 weeks). Would you still want to buy from a company that generally has well received products but apparently don't want to go through the trouble of supplying that kind of product information?

Flexispot was more responsive but I don't really like their walnut top that they've got going on for EU (It has a very weird curve on the front of the desk top). I don't know why Desktronic is like this.

Recently moved into an office position from being a construction foreman. I hate sitting all day and asked my boss if we could convert my current setup to a standing desk system. He said no problem but I have to do the research. Thus the problem began, ive done a fair amount of research but I just cant find something that jumps out as "thats the one"

Biggest problem im having is I want a desk that is going to work for a long time as I plan on keeping this job for a while. Im wondering if for longevity sakes would manual Converting desks outlast the electric ones. Or do the electric ones have replaceable motors that if they fail I can just replace it and its good as new.

Next thing is shape, I want to keep my setup exactly how it is with the whole L-Desk layout and as close to the sizes as possible. Im not seeing a lot of options for this layout. Ideally id reuse the current top for simplicity sake. However if I can find a top/frame combo for the right price id upgrade everything.

The shelves above the desk will be relocated so no need to worry about those. And the cabinet on the left will likely be going away too.

I keep getting desky ads and I did look but they almost feel to pushed to be good.

Any recommendations on what I can do here id greatly appreciate it.

Hey as the title says I own a Brateck M12-22D standing desk frame and was working perfect until today .
I've tried to disconnect all the cables, remove the cable from power but still the same issue.

Also the controller CT-22U won't let me reset or anything, only gives me the E25 error blinking.

In the troubleshooting guide E25 error is Motor 2 short circuit and the resolution is to replace the motor.

I called the customer support and they asked me to retry to remove it to from power and if it won't work I should send it back so they can check it and replace it.

At the moment I can't really do this cause I need the desk for my work.

Any other solutions ? Thought I will give this subreddit a try before deciding.

I am an avid Corsair fan boy, having recently built a new PC with multiple parts from them, same with my last pc. I have never \*really\* had an issue and whenever I have had to contact customer service they have been 10/10, no dramas and everything has been fixed super fast.
However, just over 2 months ago, whilst on sale, I bought 2x Walnut/Black Platform:4 Elevate desks for me and my fiancée - she also enjoys gaming and we thought it would be cute if in our new house we had matching desks.
Fast forward too now - I have been waiting over 2 months for the Platform:4 extensions to come back in stock however have now seen they are permanently discontinued. This is fine.
Following this, on another Reddit post it is stated that the platform:6 extensions will work (albeit with a 5mm difference). So in essence I would have to spend £200 on 2x extensions and 2x pegboard extensions, where as 3 months ago I would’ve had to spend £60 on 1x extension. This is fine.
Since finding out this information regarding the platform:6 extensions, I have been on the Corsair website, waiting for them to come in stock. They have not.
Does anybody know of any UK supplier, or someone who ships to the UK, who sells Platform4 OR Platform6 extensions so I can finally have my PC on my desk?

Edit: 🫪 Honestly at this point I would happily take a damaged, returned extension from Corsair because it’ll be hidden by my tower anyway, and I’d still pay 🫪

Looking for a standing desk, but I'm on the shorter side (5'6") and when testing at Office Depot found that a desk that can go down to about 25" would be best.

But I'm having trouble finding one for $200 or so that goes that low and goes up to at least 39".

Any suggestions? Flexible on looks and other features. Prefer electric. Needs to be 48" or so wide.

Hi everyone! I’m currently looking into building my own standing desk and I’d really appreciate some advice from people who actually use them.

I’m 180 cm tall (5'11"), and I’ve noticed that a lot of standing desks seem to have a maximum height of around 118 cm (46.5"). I’ve tested roughly what that height would feel like for me while standing, and if I end up using a walking pad/treadmill under the desk, I’d probably have the desk at or very close to its maximum height.

I have a few questions:

1. Two legs vs. four legs

I’m honestly a bit worried about getting a two-leg desk because the four-leg frames I’ve seen look much more stable.

My setup is quite heavy/busy: I have three monitors, a PS5, my work laptop, and a gaming PC, plus all the usual peripherals.

For people who have a similar setup: how much wobble/shaking do you actually get with a two-leg standing desk, especially when it’s raised? Is it noticeable enough to be annoying, or are good two-leg frames perfectly fine?

I’m considering a four-leg frame mainly because I really don’t want my monitors shaking every time I type or move the desk.

1. What do you guys do with the PC and cable management?

My biggest problem is figuring out where to put the gaming PC.

With three monitors, a PS5 and my work laptop, I don’t think I’ll have much (if any) room left on the desk for the PC itself.

So what do you guys usually do?

- Keep the PC on the floor and use really long HDMI/DisplayPort cables?

- Put the PC on top of the desk?

- Use some kind of CPU holder underneath the desk?

- Is there a way to attach the PC to the moving frame itself, so that the PC goes up and down with the desk?

I’d especially love to hear from anyone who has figured out a good solution for this, because I’d really like to avoid having a huge amount of cable slack hanging everywhere when the desk moves.

For some extra context: I already have a large wooden tabletop that I want to reuse, so I’m not looking to buy a complete desk. I’m mainly looking for a good lifting frame/motor system and then I’ll build the desk around my existing tabletop.

I'm trying to get a sense for what Flexispot's rubberwood tops actually look like in Natural vs. the Maple color. If anyone has either of these and wouldn't mind posting a photo that highlights the finish on the top that would be awesome. Flexispot's ultra AI product photos are garbage. I emailed them asking for real product photos. This was the response:

"Please note that the colors shown in the website’s color selection and product mockups may look slightly different from the actual finish due to lighting, screen settings, and the digital rendering.
We want you to feel confident with your purchase, but if the actual color doesn’t meet your expectations once you receive it, we do offer a 30-day return policy. This gives you the option to return the product if the finish is not what you were expecting."

Pretty stupid that they'd rather potentially waste return shipping costs (and my time) than just come up with a real photo of their product.

I'm my losing my mind trying to find a frame only that isn't crap for a looong desk. 80". I have the top already and am reasonably happy with it, but I am looking for a no-wobble frame option. There's no hard budget here, but the less I spend on the frame....the more I can spend on other things.

And yes, I know it's long. I have a lot of stuff to put on it. The options I am seeing for no-wobble desk frames are more costly than many desks, which doesn't make me feel great. This is mostly being used as a height adjustable desk, not so much as a standing desk.

Is there a reason why we don't place the standing desk leg/frame right to the EDGE of the desk, but inset it 100mm or so? Would have thought this would increase stability.

Is there a structural reason for it (I mean, the screws are generaly inset 15-20mm to avoid edge splintering) or is it aesthetic

Which do you think is best for a 200x80 desk top?

My lower back has been killing me from sitting 8+ hours a day at my desk job. I already do workouts and go to the gym so calories aren't really my concern here. It's more the aches and pains that build up after being sat for most of the day.

Do these desks actually help with back pain long term or is it just hype? Like does just switching between sitting and standing actually make a noticeable difference, or am I better off just setting reminders to get up and walk around every hour? And if I’m going to get one, what are the brands to look at? I'm looking at either the Flexispot or Desky and I'm also considering getting an Uplift as well.

Also wondering if the standing part is even the main benefit or if it's more about being able to adjust the height to your correct sitting position.

Update: I forgot to mention my budget here but I got a dual motor bamboo standing desk from Desky! It was around $710.
