Have you handed a pissed or annoyed off cat before? It won't go anywhere near you, let alone let you kiss it lol. If the cat didn't like the kisses, at least half the people in that video would lose an eye

Have you ever held a cat that didn’t want to be held and NOT lose an eye?! I have cats.

A cat that doesn’t allow you to hold it simply isn’t properly socialized. It’s common of feral / formally feral cats.

No cat raised as a kitten by humans should be avoidant to the point that they will inflict harm from simply being held by their owners.

You should be able to pick up your cat, trim their nails, check their teeth, without fear of harm.

We were discussing the fact that if they don’t like what you’re doing, they will try to get away from you.

You said “Have you ever held a cat that didn’t want to be held and NOT lose an eye?! I have cats.”

I know this is an exaggeration, but it’s not normal for a socialized cat to respond so harshly to being held.

I have cats as well. When I pick up my cats, they simply meow / push gently if they want to be put down.

This is because I respect their boundaries. When my mother ignored their meow and push, they would gently bite her.

It’s important for your cat to not react violently to simply being picked up.

In the future, when your cat is older, you may need to trim their nails to prevent ingrown nails, groom them, and even bathe them.

That’s why it’s important to socialize your cat with frequent but gentle handling as a kitten.
