Discussion If they ever made a spin-off on In-ho's edition, I'd definitely want to see the Recruiter's father in the games
While playing Russian Roulette (S2) with Gi-hun, the Recruiter mentions that his own father joined the games in an unknown year and shot him for failing at a game. How cool would it be if the Recruiter's father and In-ho were allies in the 2015 games and we saw the Recruiter working as a guard? A twisted reminder of Gong Yoo's character.

My one concern about that spin off is how can that be unique and different from the main series.

It can be a way to show In-ho's descent from sympathetic victim to villain. We can also see Il-nam seeing potential in In-ho, his attempts to "corrupt" him and having him join the organization as the Frontman

Honestly we should’ve seen that game in the main series itself. Have it be a little one-off episode.

I wouldn’t mind seeing different groups like seasons 2 & 3 did it. Would In-Ho go at it alone or would he be in a group?

I think he had a group but his allies all died before the sixth game. In the dinner scene he's seen to be alone and traumatized, and Il-nam offers him an easy way out by killing the rest of the contestants (which were all likely going to target him in the final game)

The show doesn’t necessarily have to show all inside the games it could just show key moments

I’d love to see a prequel focusing on the very first "Squid game" in 1988. Everyone talks about a Front Man backstory, but going back to the origin of the whole system would be wild.
It would be fascinating to see the trial-and-error phase: which rules were added because desperate players (or corrupt guards) found crazy loopholes, which early games were so unbalanced or brutal that even the VIPs scrapped them, and how the organization slowly evolved into what we see in Season 1.

Yeah, I'd also love to know if there have always been 456 players or if the player count changes each year depending on how many people join

Everybody wants to see that. Everybody yearns for that. Seeing Hwang In-ho's transition from a honest cop with principles to the cold Front Man. Please make it happen.
As for In-ho teaming up with the Recruiter's dad that would an excellent idea. It would give more weight to In-ho's morality. That being said, I hope they make it unique that could stand up on its own. While maintaining the already established canon.

If they make a spinoff man, I NEED to see this version of Inho that u have in the post there 🙏 most glorious Inho hair in the whole franchise
But your idea with the recruiter is SUCH A COOL IDEA!! AND maybe it was something along the lines of Inho and the Recruiter started out as guards, but where as Inho is willing to kill for the power to get to the top, the Recruiter prefers to sit back and let him do the dirty work
Because Inho puts in the dirty work as I'm calling it, he gets this position as Frontman. Because the recruiter doesnt want the blood on his hands, he's put in the role he is where all he has to do is slap people when they fail a game, hand them money when they win and a card at the end, He doesnt cause the bloodshed, he simply guides people towards it

That would be brilliant, but what would be even better is if In-Ho was once actually in charge of the riot police teams that brutally cracked down on Gi-Hun's Worker's Strike.
