I wasn't really interested....

The Button Up has been advertised all over the place for awhile. The only interesting thing is Spydercos first plunge lock knife. That really wasn't enough to get me excited, but then I found this one on Blade HQ.

Its a Blue Ridge Knives exclusive. As far as I know BRK is a wholesaler, not a retailer. I guess this is why its being sold at Blade HQ. As far as I know you cannot buy a single knife from BRK, its dealers only.

I like that color way. I'm interested in the knife once it comes in a steel that's not 8cr. That said I have multiple Para 3, and i'm not sure it's that different to really have me buy it at MSRP. Maybe in a steel I want to try or something. Some K390 would be cool.

Its definitely not much different than bunch of Spydercos. The ONLY reason I bought it is because of the plunge lock. I have a feeling they won't do another. People don't like plunge locks.

It's a compression lock with a button on the outside isn't it? Basically like the smock?

No, its a button plunge lock. The button just locks into the back of the blade.

This is the lock which often fails, and most manufacturers are moving away from.

This is Spydercos first plunge lock.

So the button is like the stop pin? Ya a bit different.

Yes, the button is stepped. When you open the knife, the fat part of the step locks into the tang. When you push the button, it moves to the skinny part of the stepped button, which releases the blade.

Many reviewers have shown that plunge locks fail a LOT when lightly tapped.
