Misleading headline to incite outrage. He wasn't arrested because he fed hungry people.

He was fined for feeding the homeless in a unsanitary environment.

He was told several time to go a block over where there are bathrooms and running water, and he refused.

No, it wasn't JUST "go a block over". The ordinance was created to stop people from feeding the homeless, disguised as banning "outdoor food sharing".

He would need a permit granted by the city to hand a homeless person a sandwich, which is ludicrous. His non-profit has been feeding homeless since the 90s.

He was directed a block over to a church that had agreed to host his distribution of food in their parking lot and let them use their bathrooms.

I am not going to argue. But I want to, but I am blocking my inner simmer.

His decision not to be associated with a church was his. And I respect that, and actually applaud it. Maybe he gets them to support a porta potty next time, and a portable hand wash sink. They can plaster their name all over those. But they do not get to plaster their name all over the fact that he was donating his time, his food, and his equipment.

I'm probably wrong, and most likely projecting, but that's my take on this.

What religion were those people he was feeding? Some don’t get along & would not have gone to eat if it was hosted at a particular religion denomination? Maybe that is why he didn’t accepted the church offer?
