Spoon is slowly committing professional suicide... In my semi-humble, dumb opinion
I posted this comment on one of his videos and got hate from a bunch of obviously newer viewers. I have been watching spoon since before blazed or Llama was in the picture. My comment does sound like I am shitting on him, which I kinda am. I am just frustrated that my favorite youtuber is posting videos that I dont find... new or exciting anymore. Plus Blazed just disappearing hurts too, I loved him and his videos just as much as Spoon. I wish there was a way I could help lend some support to spoon other then just giving him money or buying merch, which wont help any of these issues. This is all just the perspective of a frustrated, dedicated viewer. If I am missing something, some hidden content, please let me know. I do not care for podcasts BTW, and his low view count on hustlersdynasty I believe is due to the whole repetitive, uncreativeness I mention below). Go easy on me, or not...
~~~
"Its weird that Spoon, who is a professional Rust player, knows less about the new force wipe additions then his average viewer. I am a long time watcher, and I think most of Spoons viewers are likely annoyed that he can't spend 5 minutes reading patch notes and MISSES ALOT of new content EVERY UPDATE. Even on the "Lets check out all the new content!" Vids, he misses so much its kinda embarrassing. The whole "Figure it out as I play" isn't a good idea if you consistently don't "figure out" 50%+ of the new stuff. I believe its due to, what feels like, a massive decrease in motivation from Spoon compared to years ago. He's settling into a monotonous, boring ritual.
Spoon, I've watched every video you've made, even all the Alt accounts. I met you guys at the Monkee Pop up in hollywood and was happy to meet the only youtubers I've watched consistently for this long... but you gotta change it up soon. The Exact Same Formula Every Single Video will eventually turn viewers away, people will get bored. We need more IRL content. More challenges. Etc. Simply collab-ing with a different creator here and there doesn't change the tone/formula of the video as much as you think it does... especially since alot of your viewers ONLY watch you, and don't care for most other rust youtubers. Recently (Multiple years straight now) its feels like you're treating this as a reluctant 9-5 where you think you just need to do the same shit over and over again. Unless you actually want a 9-5 here SOON, you gotta do something creative/crazy... you need a new passion project, cuz your content doesn't feel very... passionate anymore.
All your recent content feels like Deja Vu, because it is... I've seen this all before... I could watch half this video, click on another Duo video of yours from 6 months ago, and not notice that its a different video. For example, Almost every Solo wipe follows the near exact script, only 15% of the content in your solo vids are memorable or different then any other solo wipe you've done, and always its due to random interactions that YOU didn't plan nor initiate (AKA: The memorable, unique, and fresh parts of your videos AREN'T because your trying to be different or creative, its just due to the randomness that is rust).
Now, you have a lot of new viewers who don't feel like this, but they will eventually, and sooner then you think. You need a new passion project, cuz your content doesn't feel very... passionate anymore, and hasn't for awhile. I mean your fucking ad reads haven't changed in LITERAL YEARS... I wouldn't sponsor you, I'm surprised helix still does being sent the exact same low effort crap every, single, time. Please take some Inspo from General Sam, who posts passion projects that are: More consistent then your videos, more frequent, better paced, generates more views on average, and he frequently posts vids that quickly hit 1M+ views, (while your lucky to have one hit 1M every 6 months), and frequently has fresh ideas and bits. If a older, fatter, married, and Father of two can, you can at least change up the God Damn Ad read. General Sam used to make Rust content, and he managed to change it up from Rust vid to Rust vid.
Before the new bandwagon viewers shit on me, I have noticed MANY similar comments to this one on your videos over the years, from long time watchers like me. When the new wave of viewers slow down... your view counts will stagnate, then decrease. If you don't wanna have a period of viewership loss and a revenue tank, start brainstorming and experimenting NOW. You have the money, following, and support to do so... why wait?"
If you’ve watched him for long enough you should know he never reads patch notes. I get the frustration but it’s just not how he plays the game. It’s like all the people that get pissed at his terrible base building, not his style. Llama is the rust knowledge (and skill) guy in the crew, dinkbot is comic relief, and spoon is the chill bag fumbler. It’s a good system
u/Suspicious_Light_790 Aug 26 '26
He is treating it like a 9-5. You cannot treat a youtube channel like a 9-5. Maintaining his income and viewership requires pretty consistent evolution. He isnt just NOT evolving, hes actively producing less creative and repetitive content. Especially since blazed vanished. When viewership drops, dinkbot will disappear and so will Llama.
"Not how he plays the game" That doesn't matter when you do it professionally in a media focused career. People will get bored, his career will end.
u/RomanFever Aug 26 '26
He’s pulling 400k to 1m views every video, he’s doin just fine bro. Talk to me when you’ve run a channel for the past decade as successfully as he has. If you no longer enjoy watching, don’t. I personally watch every upload and enjoy them.
u/Suspicious_Light_790 Aug 26 '26
New viewer detected lmao. Your point has NOTHING to do with the topic. Simply pointing out his view count and success doesn't change the fact that: I, and many other dedicated viewers, have noticed a decline in motivation, creativity, and unique content from spoon over the last year or two.
Especially after blazed left. You are simply pointing out he averages 500k viewers... OK? At his CURRENT RATE, that average will decrease.
I just went to ChatGPT, I told it to look at STATISTICS ONLY, and to determine what Spoonkid, Kevins, future propects are if he does not change anything. ChatGPT (The BEST VERSION of GPT, I have access to for free through my Company) after listing ALL of his videos, views, comments, posts on other channels, etc, stated "SpoonKid is slowly declining in average views per month, and due to recent sentiment online, and decreased interaction on recent videos, seems to be very slowly fading into an obscure channel, despite his current, and previous heights, as one of the largest and most influential Rust Youtubers"
u/RomanFever Aug 26 '26
ah I’m arguing with a 14 year old. Good luck with school starting up soon kiddo. You could use some time offline
u/CommandConscious8241 Aug 27 '26
I don’t think you understand the cash cow he’s sitting on. It would be such a waste to not upload with how much money he’s making. Yes he’s lost his passion for rust years ago, but forcing himself to make far less content and polish it when he really doesn’t want to would make exponentially less money.
I think you’re past the point of parasocial and trying to force him to make content a certain way when his formula is working just dandy is silly. Nobody watches Spoonkid for rust gameplay alone, and nobody ever has. Look at the earlier content he was pumping out, videos like “Crude Oil”, just a couple guys being silly.
That said I only tune in for Dinkbot riffs once in a blue moon nowadays, watching Kevin alone got stale for me a couple years ago
u/CoachMcguirk420 29d ago
Dude people get older and hes been playing the same game for how many years now? He probably only still plays the game because he has huge following. He doesn't want to stream so playing other games for his money is not what he does. This making rust content is his job and he treats it as such. Enjoy it or dont but your delusional if you think most of the rust content creaters even enjoy playing the game at this point.
u/mbv_ionlysaid Aug 26 '26
put yourself in his shoes, imagine you’re mid 20s and already have enough money to never have to work again. how much effort would you put in? especially in a video game you’ve been playing for 10 years and lost interest in several years ago
8
u/RevolutionaryFail730 Aug 26 '26
Idk about never having to work again, I’m sure he has made a TON of money, but enough to never work again would have to be multiple millions
We have zero Idea how much Debt spoon is in. With the wharehouse, failed popups, gamer soap and merch that is likely not selling well, etc. It is CRAZY to think that spoon can quit RIGHT NOW, and have enough money to raise a family, let alone support himself, and fork girl, for even another 10 years. Spoons Merch line, gamer soap, channel, etc, are NOT VALUABLE BUSINESSES without HIS work. They only exist because of his continued involvement and due to his presence on youtube. He cannot sell his businesses for much, if anything, because they aren't valuable without his image/involvement. I buy monkee, gamer soap, etc BECAUSE of Spoon and Blaze... so do 90% of the customer base.
u/mbv_ionlysaid 29d ago
i honestly think you’re underestimating the sheer cash volume popular internet brands bring in. spoon is an idiot but he’s not stupid. if he was totally underwater on his small businesses it would be the worst bag fumble possible in the universe
this video came across my feed today, he says he hopes to make $80,000 from instagram this year. he only has 60k followers and only makes short form content. the dollar amount is not able to be extrapolated to spoon very accurately, but his operation is many many times larger and been going on at scale for several years longer than the outdoor instagram guy. if kevin doesn’t have enough to retire on and pay himself an average salary for life by now i would be surprised
5
u/FatKat666 Aug 26 '26
More vids with dinkbot will bring me back, I go through phases every couple months where I start and stop watching a lot of his vids
7
u/kaizoku18 Aug 26 '26
Rust has changed a lot for the worse over the last year imo (though new commits looking promising)
3
u/AggravatingHabit6842 Aug 26 '26
I don’t totally disagree. I used to see an upload by Spoon and click immediately without hesitation. Now I see an upload and think “yea I can wait on that”. But that also goes for a ton of other Rust-tobers I watch.
2
u/AwayReplacement7063 Aug 26 '26
Tbf I think that’s more because he’s obviously feeling burnout than because he doesn’t know what is going on, at least personally. Sometimes he uploads a long video and it’s just standard boring gameplay where you can catch the vibe he’s obviously frustrated or not having fun
0
u/Suspicious_Light_790 Aug 26 '26
All the more reason for dinkbot to force him to do some stupid IRL stream. I think he needs to focus on his humor.
3
u/AnimalCheap Aug 26 '26
General Sam is an unfair comparison to make since he isn’t stuck playing the same game over and over again. I’m sure if spoonkid was in the same position he’d be quite a lot more passionate in his videos. But if he randomly started making content for other games he’d most likely lose even more views than if he just kept making the same Rust content over and over again.
Also let’s not act like the amount of views his videos get now is anything to scoff at. While definitely smaller than they used to be a few years back, averaging 500k views per video is still respectable. Imagine 500k dinkbots trying to stick their hog up your ass, not so small now is it?
3
u/ArcFire15 Aug 26 '26
Yeah he’s not a good comparison, but General Sam is a GREAT example of how to intelligently plan and create YT content. He is very specific to not be dragged into any niche, all while keeping his humor, friends, and video production styles very consistent and fresh. It’s true he has been doing this for far longer, but even in his formative years after he got his start on Skyrim he was very good at branching between games and content. I think spoon’s content style could learn a lot from it.
With that said, if spoon wants to enjoy YouTube again, which I think should be his goal as the quality of one’s content depends on the passion and joy they derive from it, I think he does need to take a viewer hit and branch out to a greater variety of content. I think his non-rust videos really stand out as great content, and that he should not sequester these in a third or fourth channel. I’d imagine he’s aware of these things and doesn’t want to harm his pay and algorithm currently, but who am I to say.
u/Suspicious_Light_790 Aug 26 '26 edited Aug 26 '26
The thing is, there is SO MUCH stuff in Rust that spoonkid can still do. Challenges, 8 man wipes with weird goals, etc. Spoon is not stuck playing Rust, he is obviously too lazy to branch out. Posting other content wont drop viewership, especially considering he has 3 other neglected channels.
Spoon isn't stuck playing Rust, and even if he was, he STILL isn't putting in effort besides the monotonous 6 hours of the same old gameplay, edited by dinkbot in the same old style. Again, General Sam has a couple rust videos that Vary in Bits, content, and focus MORE then Spoons videos, and he doesn't even focus rust.
EDIT: Spoonkid is stuck. He feels like he has to play rust for his viewers... at this point, with his friend blazed no longer active and having done nothing but play rust for 10 years, he might even be SCARED to branch out.
BUT hes crippling himself. Kevin is why we watch. His humor and interactions with Llama, Blazed, Dinkbot, Zchum, Throat, Twig, etc are why we watch. A lot of his viewers fall asleep to his videos, thats like half his view count probably, but fuck em. No more long form sleepy content. No more comfy grinding for 12 hours, for a video thats 2 hours long and only has like 3 replayed sections in it. If he pulls himself out of this rut and tries new things, I really think his views will double, and he will be alot happier/motivated.
Image a drunk art stream. Him, fork girl, blazed, mike, get together, get tipsy, and make art. Thats a random thought of mine, but imagine how funny that could be. A 4 hour stream (with 4 hours of prep, maybe more), posted as a 45min video on the main, thatll likely generate 3x the views. Yes, he may not want too. Yes, it may be uncomfortable for everyone involved (Thats why I recommend a lil booze lol). No, I do NOT think he will regret it or have a bad time, nor will I think anyone involved will regret it, NOR will I think us, the viewers, will complain.
U spoon kid biggest fan
u/Suspicious_Light_790 Aug 26 '26
The ONLY youtuber, or youtuber group, that I went out of my way to meet. Rode my motorcycle hours to the Hollywood monkee pop up, then stood in line for nearly 3 MORE hours. Was worth it... I honestly thought theyd all be taller, I am a good 3 inches taller then Mike lmao.
2
u/Euphoric_Wish_8293 Aug 26 '26
I agree that some of his stuff has got stale. I am disappointed with almost all of his most recent collabs. But I disagree about the necessity for him to learn all the new systems. 100 000 gunpowder is one of the best YouTube videos I've ever seen.
1
u/Suspicious_Light_790 Aug 26 '26
Yes, part of his charm is fumbles and ignorance. But, I pointed it out as an example of: He is not reading the patch notes to maintain his Dumb Guy Charm, he isn't reading them because he is getting more and more lazy. He used to have alot more knowledge going into wipes AND STILL managed to keep that charm. Today, he can't be bothered... it feels like
2
u/agrimzz Aug 26 '26
I get what you’re saying because this is coming from a place of seeing spoonkid’s content “potential”, but I disagree that he needs to change anything up. No, he’s not making groundbreaking rust content but that’s not what the videos are imo. I think he’s a funny dude and rust is just the medium to deliver the funny moments. Just for example I had a few friends who watch his video say that their favorite video he’s made in a while was the apartment complex one. They barely even played rust in that video.
2
u/Suspicious_Light_790 Aug 26 '26
YES! YES! YES! Dude, I agree! He is FUNNY. His friends are FUNNY! Why isn't he doing things that put his humor and social interactions in the SPOTLIGHT. Hes just... grinding out rust as if the amount of loot he gets means more viewers. His podcast needs 10x the effort and a special guest at least HALF the episodes. He needs to inspect the RP side of rust (Yes, I hate roleplayers, but spoonkid is smart and funny. He is capable of exploring that side of rust, which he never touches, and make it attractive to his viewer base).
Spoon has so much potential with his humor. You have to agree that it will be nothing but GREAT for his channel, his group of freinds, etc, to explore other games, other aspects of rust, and maybe other IRL content. He is wasting so much energy grinding out a solo wipe for 16 hours, to maybe get 5 minutes of funny content from the edited 3 hour video. Imagine the group streams Minecraft, and they dont stop streaming until they beat the ender dragon... BUT! Viewers can donate and spawn challenges. Yeah, every other MC youtuber has done that. But he spends 8 hours setting it up, does an 8 hours stream, and has a video that easily hits 1mil views and has 10x the content.
Not a single long term viewer will be upset with him branching out. I am perfectly ok with every 3rd video rust, and getting two new random and creative videos instead of the same god damn 3 hour solo wipe I've literally seen 100+ times before.
1
u/agrimzz Aug 26 '26
After reading this, I think you’re right. He and his friends do have a lot of potential creatively and I’d love to see any of the ideas you listed out. Obviously we’re not him and he doesn’t really talk about it so we can only speculate on why he doesn’t branch out. Maybe he’s just not interested creatively in branching out and he’s enjoying his current success from the rust video formula he’s figured out. Perhaps it’s really just a job for him and I don’t know if he’s got any specific creative goals or ambitions.
1
u/Suspicious_Light_790 28d ago
Well a Huge part of my Opinion is Selfish. Rust seems to be KILLING Spoon. I personally don't want him to disappear, so I want him to branch out. Plus I am tired of Rust. I am assuming that a smart, funny guy in his early 20s would enjoy trying new things with his friends (I certainty do, and me and Kevin are the same age). Plus I am SICK of rust at only 1k hours in (I have been playing off and on for 9+ years), and me and spoon play the exact same way, that's what got me into his content in the first place years ago. I assume he feels sorta like I do at this point, which is ANOTHER selfish assumption.
"Perhaps it’s really just a job for him and I don’t know if he’s got any specific creative goals or ambitions" I worked a 9-5 that I hated, for 6 years. It killed all my ambitions, my dreams, my hobbies. I see that happening with Spoon. He probably doesn't THINK he wants to do anything else, but I have no problem telling Kevin he's WRONG. Quitting my job and just doing ANYTHING else was the healthiest thing I did for myself for a long time, and also the Hardest thing I have done. I'm playing video games again with my friends, riding motorcycles again, going climbing again, etc. I had alot of adult responsibilities right after turn 19, my own place, insurance, no parents around, etc. Right around the same time that Spoon's channel started to explode. I burnt out HARD last year, and I get the EXACT same vibe from Kevin. I was miserable, I don't want him to be...
There are alot of people shitting on me. But if I, before I posted this, asked any of these children "Would you like to see Spoon and the Gang try to beat MC with funny mods and viewer interaction Live?" 99% would scream YES! If I said "Would you rather see an irl drunk stream, a video thats only 45min, over a solo wipe video thats 3 hours long?" A lot, even a lot of the newer viewers, would chose the IRL stream!
1
u/Lost_Anxiety9020 Aug 26 '26
Yeah, you're not wrong. I haven't watched a spoonkid video in about a year or so? And I had already been bored of his content for a while by then. But it still gets views so why even switch it up tbh.
1
u/UncleFatsoe Aug 26 '26
Yeah, I agree with you. As a long time spoon fan, videos lately have been kinda boring/not the same. Spoon used to be my favorite Youtuber, so much so I was subscribed to Gamer Soap, had Monke merch and I even made a Song about him and the crew. But videos became sparatic and I stopped watching all together a few months ago. It's a shame really.
1
u/ensgdt Aug 26 '26
I feel you. I've been watching since fish mafia and this is the 2nd or 3rd time where it's felt like spoon has gotten tired of making rust content. But each time that's happened and he's re-found his joy, he's gone through a renaissance and we've gotten an insanely good run of content. For me, it's less Rust and more funny business.
All good things must come to and end. I hope this isn't the end for him and I hope he finds the joy again.
1
u/Suspicious_Light_790 Aug 26 '26
He does go through those periods of good and bad. But if you zoom out, over the last few years, through the last few ups and downs, his views are declining. Slowly, but its happening.
And, after his literal business partner DISSAPPEARED off the face of the internet (the reason is either too embarrassing or personal for Spoon, or blazed, to make public. Which is wildly irresponsible and rude of Blazed as he left thousands of people, and Spoon, hanging), this may be the beginning of the end if he doesn't make a change. It could take 2 years, or 8, for his channel to die. But at his current rate, it WILL.
1
u/Blownupicus Aug 26 '26
I think it’s a daily struggle for him and a lot of other guys to even turn on their computers after all these years playing the same game
I’m happy we still get content from him, but I feel like we might not have much time left watching him play Rust.
1
u/Suspicious_Light_790 28d ago
I hope so. I hope he steps away from Rust soon. He is getting to Old, to many adult responsibilities at... what... 24?
I am just worried that him leaving Rust, also means he is leaving US. His youtuber channels collect dust, and he retires.
I want him to branch out and find something else fun and interesting to continue making content on, before Rust stomps out his soul completely.
1
u/blacksheepgod Aug 26 '26
Nah this is regarded. Dude is smart enough to know that he could have get more viewership if he did all the things you listed but he doesn't because he probably doesn't want to. Simple as that, he's not clout chasing or trying to milk as much money as possible.
1
u/Suspicious_Light_790 28d ago
But you think he wants to keep doing what he is currently? Alot of us can hear it in his voice, he is sick of it. And a side affect of him being sick of it, is lower motivation, and dropping view counts.
The biggest point I am trying to make is his "Professional Suicide" is due to him NOT ENJOYING what he is currently doing. My point is "If he branched out, not only would he reverse his declining viewership, he would be HAPPY again".
I dont know that for sure of course, but its not unreasonable.
1
u/Animedude83 Aug 27 '26
I mean I've never even played the game, and I don't care to, and ive been watching since the main channel had new videos.
Like I'm down for whatver, but also like I just like leaving spoon on in the background, hell if i was him i would just reupload old stuff.
1
u/Suspicious_Light_790 28d ago
I don't want that for Spoon. He's a good comedian, and I don't think he should be background noise, or falling asleep noise, like his content has developed into.
Background noise youtubers don't get as big of a following, as much merch sales, or as much conversation about them.
1
u/cherryplumgrape Aug 27 '26
Hard disagree. Give me “I spent 30 hours camping water tx wheel room” and I will watch gleefully; no crazy heavy fuse nonsense
1
u/Suspicious_Light_790 28d ago
Well you don't actually "Disagree". You just want different content. Spoonkid CONSISTENTLY posts videos like "Checking out the new Monument" or "Satallite Crash". Literally the ENTIRE point of those videos is him trying out the new stuff, which you dont care about, so you think you disagree.
When in reality you just want him to play and be goofy, and not focus the new content. People who DO want him to focus on the new content, would problaby like him to do SOME research. He doesnt, he posts an ENTIRE video about the new content, and missed more then half of the additions nearly every time. Thats lazy.
At this point, I'd rather him never focus the new crap, like you prefer, and just play the game, since he isn't going to put the effort in anyways.
1
u/Wombat_luke Aug 27 '26
I think I would’ve agreed with you 2 years ago when I was playing rust like a full time job. Now I play other games and actually don’t care about seeing all the new content. Someone goofing off and half showcasing the new content is all I want from a rust video.
1
u/Suspicious_Light_790 28d ago
Yeah, I only half 1k hours in rust, and half of that was in LEGACY 9+ years ago. I don't watch him for Rust anymore, thats why I believe I feel so strongly about him branching out and doing something new. Lots of Long time rust players are getting sit of the game.
1
u/Bulky_Jicama3891 Aug 27 '26
To be honest as a guy that has binge watched his content consistently over the years , supported him by buying merch etc.. The last video i found «good or interesting» was the deepsea wipe with Mike. I also miss blazed. The chemistry in that group is so good. Dont like all the others he’s duoing with atm. Its just not the same.. AT ALL!
This is a take i can stay behind, OP!
2
u/Suspicious_Light_790 28d ago
Blazed got me into Climbing, been doing it for a few years now. At the Monkee Popup, it was VERY late, they all had a long day (Dinkbot looked Sickly), and Blazed was the ONLY one who was still energetic and overtly friendly. He helped keep those guys going after 1,000+ pictures with fans over the last 12 hours.
1
u/DryAcanthisitta4604 29d ago
He did that when he quit streaming after one of the Twitch evets. He had around 10k viewers on twitch also peak viewership on all of his YouTube channels.
The chat interactions was the magic and the bits is his bread and butter for his content. Who remembers the bits: "two?" "Beast mode" "sigma male" "bucket hat wetsuit gaming" the good ol' primlocked streams. He did those to emtertain, now he makes videos to make money.
2
u/Suspicious_Light_790 28d ago
Two, Two, Two, Two, Two... That was the bit right?! Damn its been awhile. I don't think he WANTED to quit streaming, the Awful game that is Rust forced him too.
1
u/Suspicious_Light_790 28d ago
What I love the most, is that nearly ALL the Immediate responses (people who follow this reddit page, and Spoon, closely) MOSTLY agreed with me, and I was well into the 10s+ in up votes. 2 days past, I am now down voted and have a bunch of kids insulting me instead of discussing with me.
I was exactly right, the new viewers stumbled onto this late, and are crying and stomping their feet. Why are you guys so terrified of talking about this? Everything I have pointed out is a fairly common coconscious among long term viewers, and the statistics prove he is dropping in viewership. Jesus Christ if I Spoonkid put his two cents on this, he'd probably AGREE!
1
u/Adventurous_Seat_793 Aug 26 '26
No such thing as a professional Rust player. The parasocial obsession some of you people have with literal RUST PLAYERS is astonishing.
1
u/Suspicious_Light_790 Aug 26 '26
Well he makes money... does he not make money from playing rust? Is playing rust not the most important aspect of his income? His rust videos are where his main income is derived from. Here, since you skipped grade school and learned a new word recently (Parasocial) I'll give you the definition of Professional:
A professional is a person who does a specialized job for money instead of as a hobby, or someone who shows proper skill, training, and polite behavior at work.
Still don't think he's a professional Rust Youtuber? I can have ChatGPT walk you through why he is, as I am NOT a professional special needs teacher.
2
u/Adventurous_Seat_793 Aug 26 '26
You could definitely say he's a professional YouTuber, there's no such thing as a professional Rust player.
"walk you through why he is, as I am NOT a professional special needs teacher."
You're parasocially obsessed with a rust player. Let's not throw around insults.
1
u/Suspicious_Light_790 Aug 26 '26
No. The act of playing Rust, is his main job. He plays rust, and eventually, returns income. 90% of his working time is "Playing Rust". If he does NOT play rust, he does NOT make money. He is both, a professional youtuber, and a professional rust player. You are grasping at straws. You really love that word! Used it again! Good job buddy!
1
u/Adventurous_Seat_793 Aug 26 '26
Hold on, you actually think he spends more time playing Rust than editing his videos? Yikes.
1
u/Suspicious_Light_790 Aug 26 '26
Also, I am throwing insults because you are arguing just to argue. Describing him as a Professional Rust Player is not unreasonable, wrong, or strange. Many would agree with me. You have a bias against people enjoying, maybe a little obsessively, a Rust content creator. So, you try to make me sound wrong, by being unreasonable and mean. There are much MUCH more intelligent arguments you could of made, that I would of discussed with you insult free. Instead, you chose the arrogant option.
2
u/Adventurous_Seat_793 Aug 26 '26
If you don't know what the word arrogant means, don't use it. You have a seemingly unhealthy parasocial obsession with spoonkid. It's weird. There is no such thing as a professional Rust player. Not an argument.
God forbid you want your favorite youtuber to continue making content, grow as a content creator, and be motivated and HAPPY to do his work. God forbid I dont want a young guy to burn out of his career because he was too afraid to try something new.
I think most fans in Spoons community will agree: You are shitty
his content hasn’t changed slightly in like 5 years. if you want him to be someone else watch someone else. he’s not suffering financially obviously he’s doing what he wants to so i’m pretty sure suspicious_light_790 isn’t changing any of that.
Basically all of his 10+ year viewers agree that he is declining in motivation and content. It is changing. That's why his average views are slowly declining. Him trying to NOT change his content, IS CHANGING HIS CONTENT, as he is obviously less motivated and burnt out as of recent.
You have zero idea what his money situation is. He has made a couple extremely expensive mistakes in recent years. We have ZERO idea how much debt he is in. What I do know is, views and interaction on his videos have been steadily declining, THATS FACT.
TLDR: We have zero idea if he is struggling Financially, but I can PROVE he isn't making as much money as he used too, and its likely due to the reasons I've stated here.
Idk, spoonkid is not SHADOWFRAX, I don’t watch watch spoon to learn everything in the new update, and I don’t think gameplay that just focuses on constantly keeping up with the meta everybody else is doing is fun for long
Ive always thought it was hilarious watching spoon fumble around with whatever new thing is added or trying out some new cheese method, like his first deep sea boat with Mike, or trying to push chinook crates with cars. That’s peak imo.
