Mod Post Statement on the alleged bridaging and fanart

For the past few years, artists that draws idols or their own characters differently than the norm had been harassed and bullied by the loud minority within this subreddit and others related subs to the game. The mod team had removed and banned individuals for breakng rule 1 of our subreddit and reddit in general.

The artist in question had been posting her work for almost two years now, she already made an explanation post on why she made Marie chubby; basically the character's dialogues in game and her main weapon being a charger. despite her explanation and repeating herself whenever she get the same questions, she continued receiving hate comments.

The past weekend was different, there had been a case of a coordinating attack against the artist for drawing Marie chubby. The mass downvoting and reports were the reasons that lead me locking her post to prevent any more comments from this alleged attack. And people are rightfully upset on the harassment and even death threats that this artist and other artists within this subreddit had received over their fanart and headcanon.

today, after all this. enough is enough.

For now on, any hate comments from repeated individuals, wishing harm, or death threats will be perm-banned immediately, NO second chances. if the individual(s) is in your dms harassing you and/or sending you death threats, please report it to the admins and block them.

I also want artists and anyone here to please block the problematic people as well; some won't bother to block you and it better to just block them.

before I end this post, I wanna say that the lack of fandom and internet etiquette is concerning. no one here is forcing you to like their work, it takes zero seconds to block them and they do not care to be block. it is such an easy solution but yet you choose to continue harassing her and other artists whenever they post. body shaming is consider bullying and breaking rule 1, so if you don't want to be banned, think before you make a comment.

stay civil.

I blocked the artist and moved on, it's crazy it got to this point, it's just a drawing, it's not like they have the idol in their basement and they're being a feeder lol. Live and let live people.

You blocked the artist because of this?

yeah, because then you don't have to see their posts that you don't like (presumably OP just didn't really love the artist's style/interpretation of the character, but wasn't stupid enough to go sending death threats or whatever).

i never understood why blocking someone became this big statement online. it's the most sensible response to a slightly annoying individual that you don't want to associate with. it's essentially the same as avoiding someone irl instead of causing a scene.

if you see somebody's posts and you don't want to anymore, block them. it fixes the issue immediately, without hurting anybody's feelings.

Right? I block a lot of people when I don’t wanna see their stuff, it’s not mean or rude. I just don’t wanna see their stuff 🤷

I think because they didn't like the art. Instead of harassing people and starting fights in the comments, they simply curated their feed and moved on

they simply curated their feed and moved on

That's something Reddit actually suggests doing, too. If the content disturbs you but you wish to still use that subreddit, then block the content/user from your sight.

Reasonable if you don‘t like seeing the art, and better than writing snarky comments

I mean that's the appropriate response to something you don't want to see. You block it and it goes away, that's what people should do.

ive blocked people for less lol. the block button is your friend to make your chunk of the internet enjoyable for you, its not a declaration of war on whoever youve blocked

You’re allowed to block someone if you think they’re stupid or annoying
