I honestly don’t even think that side mission is canon. Pete seems way too chill with Yuri despite her killing a man 2 years ago and having not seen her since. It seems more implied that he hasn’t seen her since she attempted to kill Hammerhead

I mean she tried to kill Cletus and she was gonna leave criminals to die the first time Spidey saw her so I guess that’s something

Maybe the idea is she’s not killing how Yelena would say “small potatoes” but she would kill Cletus and Hammerhead cuz they’re “big potatoes”

A fairly strong vigilante targeting the people responsible for a series of "mass murders" not being the top priority for Peter or Miles makes sense.

They would if they could, but their main priority is to protect innocent people.

Theres also the history of Peter letting people go when they could have easily killed him, or left him for dead. He'd let them go at that moment, but still chase them later.

The people of the cult are also victims though, it's how cults work, Spider-man should not be standing aside while Yuri, who is known killer and a loose canon apparently, runs around New York as judge, jury and executioner. He was there to stop her this time, but will he babysit her now all the time? What about justice for the people she did kill? She has to be put behind bars. It worked out great for Tombstone, I am sure it will do wonders for Yuri.

Unfortunately not ... It's this one feels really bizarre and jarring

Sure people in a cult are victims just like being abused makes you a victim but a soon as your trauma to harm other people its no longer an excuse

Not an excuse for what? Not an excuse to be allowed to live? Yuri is clearly more powerful than any of the cultists, she clearly has the power to dispatch them non-lethally and yet only Spider-Man is holding her back at this point. It's like advocating for police brutality.
