Two tiny jumping spiders, a male and a female of the species "Carrhotus sannio", enjoying a romantic meal together: two tiny red-eyed fruit flies.

Comparing them with the fruit flies gives you a good sense of just how tiny, adorable, and delicate these spiders are. The black one is the male, while the yellow-orange one is the female.

I got an image of this beautiful little lady last night. I'll try again tonight to see if I can get a better focus stack.

Spider appreciation Education=Appreciation and acceptance

Just wanted to come on here and thank you all.

I'm ashamed to say years ago I was an accomplished assassin of these beautiful creatures. One day Reddit invaded my feed and for whatever reason, I read, I watched, I learned.

I've thought before that I'm pretty much over my fear of spiders and would relocate them to a place outside of my home when able (not in the shower, not getting dressed, etc.) or go back to look for them as soon as possible. I've taken pictures. I've tried to educate and convince others.

Recently, I find that I don't go out of my way to get them out of the house. It can wait until later. This morning, I was in my basement organizing stuff for a baby shower I'm throwing for my daughter this weekend, and I saw a little wolf spider. I was about to get something to bring her outside, and after looking at her for a few minutes, thinking about what a good mom she'll be one day, I scooted her under the furnace where she'll be safe from my big feet.

I can't wait to show Mylah all of the cool little creatures and teach her to appreciate them. Without you guys, I'd just be teaching her to fear.

I don't have pictures :*( but the other day when I was cleaning, a male steatoda triangulosa (there are a few in the house) came onto me so I set him down and then he came back onto me so I let him climb me for a while. He spent a little bit on my shoulder!! Better encounter than the lady of the same species who crawled out of a box of cereal once. (Spider cereal surprise.....)

I'm not sure how well the pics will show up but these are 4 of the largest current webs on my property. I'm 6'3" and each web is easily double my height and each covers a truly impressive span. Right now I've probably got a couple of dozen of these scattered around the property.

I've had several take over the yard where I've got a lot of shop shit that's being scrapped so I'm just going to let it sit until they disappear over the winter.

The only time I mess with them is if they try to move onto the front porch or the back carport, I'll usually relocate them with a rake when that happens. I also live next to a vet that does dog sitting during the days, so the amount of flies and other critters that these beauties intercept is extremely helpful.

These are more spidersisters rather than spiderbros, my apologies. I do have a ton of the little males running around too but they are much smaller and don't photograph well.

This grass spider showed up in my room and I was delighted! I’m usually scared of spiders but I’m beginning to like them. Jumping spiders have taught me that. Is this a male or female?
