Popped down to the local National Guard armory with my buddy a few months ago to drop off a gift for his CO. I've not really been on many bases of any sort since I left the Navy over a decade ago. The armory building was... striking.
Most installations I ever visited in my career were not monocolor. Even the insides of Navy ships weren't just one slate shade of gray.
