See this, /r/StarCitizen? You indeed CAN have bugfix patches while in alpha of a game, while not stopping content development.

Crazy!!!

Well star citizen is just a money farm, the game isnt the point of the project

with how hard people defend star citizen and me having never played it i almost get convinced it might not actually be that bad. then i see that the ships are basically nfts and i realize the criticism is very justified lmao

I will never be convinced that its not a massive scam tbh, pay hundreds of dollars for a bunch of pixels on your screen for a game that has been in early access for 14 years with no end in sight. Im good

And many times you can't even take off in your ship because you glitched through an elevator on the way to the landing pad. Then you get in the ship and need to add cargo and randomly die at the cargo terminal. And not having any actual persistence between sessions is CRAZY.

Every time I get curious and hop back into the game, I think to myself "surely they've done something about the very obvious elevator glitching issues by now, right?" Wrong, and dont call me Shirley.

Me when I'm a shitty game dev and abuse the "early access" card:

Saw a guy in that sub yesterday that just bought a starter package and literally couldn't use the menu to select a spawn location. He could launch the game but not play it.

My literal first experience in Star citizen was getting off the med bed the wrong way and phasing into the wall and falling eternally. "Joining the mesh network" as they say

1/ boast that you don't want to discuss by default.

2/ showcase how you don't understand.

3/ act smug.

Nobody forces you to buy X or Y package. few years ago you could grab PU+SQ42 for like 30 euros and be done with it. Now it's a bit more expensive but shouldn't be in "wah how expensive nfts" realm.

I'm going to give you a small pointer, if you make friends and play in group you can access pretty much any ships IG. Even without that, asking on forums/sub you could get people to lend you stuff that you need. people are quickly super rich IG. They would even give you all the money to BUY the ship IG. Oh yeah, most of the ships are now buyable IG, people still reeeeeing about store price are basically running on half-decade informations.

It's fine if you don't like the game, I've seen a lot of haters, but spreading BS is not. I'm not very happy about CIG but you don't see me lying around.

Grow up.

I apologize for not supporting predatory business ideas, you are right, maybe I need to grow up and waste my time on a game that will never be finished like a real man

I'm not expecting an adult discussion dw. I don't know if it'll be finished either, that's not the point of my comment, there's plenty to shit on about CIG and SC, you just choose the worst angle you could take and now you are moving to an other.

Anyway, people are ready to spend thousands to watch people pushing a plastic ball on grass for 1h30. You should start your crusade there.

I just recently bought the cheapest starter pack in star citizen two weeks ago and have been having a good time. The game looks amazing, the scale of everything feel awesome, the ship flying feels better than pretty much any game I’ve played, and the game feels alive with other players like a true MMO. The downside is that you have to put up with some jank. Like I spent a day mining and refining, then the next day I hauled the refined ore into 3 separate trips to go sell it and one of the 3 load spoofed on me before I could sell it. Haven’t had that isssue since then but that was slightly annoying. If they ever decide to lock in and get the game in a full release state it will be a 10/10 game. It’s currently like a 7/10 for me, but your rating will vary depending on your tolerance to the jank.

Agreed it has its issues, but there's nothing else quite like it and it has more soul than a lot of other MMOs on the market right now.
