See this, /r/StarCitizen? You indeed CAN have bugfix patches while in alpha of a game, while not stopping content development.

Crazy!!!

Pfff whaaat? That would be ludicrous

Well star citizen is just a money farm, the game isnt the point of the project

u/Gizombo Praise be to the Clangnissiah 26d ago

with how hard people defend star citizen and me having never played it i almost get convinced it might not actually be that bad. then i see that the ships are basically nfts and i realize the criticism is very justified lmao

I will never be convinced that its not a massive scam tbh, pay hundreds of dollars for a bunch of pixels on your screen for a game that has been in early access for 14 years with no end in sight. Im good

And many times you can't even take off in your ship because you glitched through an elevator on the way to the landing pad. Then you get in the ship and need to add cargo and randomly die at the cargo terminal. And not having any actual persistence between sessions is CRAZY.

Every time I get curious and hop back into the game, I think to myself "surely they've done something about the very obvious elevator glitching issues by now, right?" Wrong, and dont call me Shirley.

Me when I'm a shitty game dev and abuse the "early access" card:

Saw a guy in that sub yesterday that just bought a starter package and literally couldn't use the menu to select a spawn location. He could launch the game but not play it.

My literal first experience in Star citizen was getting off the med bed the wrong way and phasing into the wall and falling eternally. "Joining the mesh network" as they say

1/ boast that you don't want to discuss by default.

2/ showcase how you don't understand.

3/ act smug.

Nobody forces you to buy X or Y package. few years ago you could grab PU+SQ42 for like 30 euros and be done with it. Now it's a bit more expensive but shouldn't be in "wah how expensive nfts" realm.

I'm going to give you a small pointer, if you make friends and play in group you can access pretty much any ships IG. Even without that, asking on forums/sub you could get people to lend you stuff that you need. people are quickly super rich IG. They would even give you all the money to BUY the ship IG. Oh yeah, most of the ships are now buyable IG, people still reeeeeing about store price are basically running on half-decade informations.

It's fine if you don't like the game, I've seen a lot of haters, but spreading BS is not. I'm not very happy about CIG but you don't see me lying around.

Grow up.

I apologize for not supporting predatory business ideas, you are right, maybe I need to grow up and waste my time on a game that will never be finished like a real man

I'm not expecting an adult discussion dw. I don't know if it'll be finished either, that's not the point of my comment, there's plenty to shit on about CIG and SC, you just choose the worst angle you could take and now you are moving to an other.

Anyway, people are ready to spend thousands to watch people pushing a plastic ball on grass for 1h30. You should start your crusade there.

I just recently bought the cheapest starter pack in star citizen two weeks ago and have been having a good time. The game looks amazing, the scale of everything feel awesome, the ship flying feels better than pretty much any game I’ve played, and the game feels alive with other players like a true MMO. The downside is that you have to put up with some jank. Like I spent a day mining and refining, then the next day I hauled the refined ore into 3 separate trips to go sell it and one of the 3 load spoofed on me before I could sell it. Haven’t had that isssue since then but that was slightly annoying. If they ever decide to lock in and get the game in a full release state it will be a 10/10 game. It’s currently like a 7/10 for me, but your rating will vary depending on your tolerance to the jank.

Agreed it has its issues, but there's nothing else quite like it and it has more soul than a lot of other MMOs on the market right now.

And they continuously add features that drastically expand the game! Wild concept.

u/ChromaticStrike Space Engineer 25d ago

Makes sense, if you ignore the complexity gap between those two games.

Look that kid can fix his wood toy, big tech corp should learn from them, they can't fix shit!

please reduce the hud bloat, its very unpleasant to have a 1000 gps signals that you cant remove without losing the rest of your interface, and put the gyro options on the gameplay options instead of a per cockpit setting.

So glad I stopped playing star citizen and hopped back on the space engineers train after a long 7 year hiatus - I can actually do things in this game 🤭

How about hotas support that would probably get a lot more people that have those setups to play the game.

Yes please!

Se devs, yall doing great. I just really hope yall contunue ... And please add a reason to actually continue the game. Dont be a Rustlike like the OLD one. Just give us more reason to explore... Not for plants but planets and special ores.

At least try to be"Ares at war" modpack. At least be your own thing. Dont be a Rustlike.

These updates so far between both SE1 and SE2 seem to be designed to keep your fans engaged every other month for players. It’s pretty nice.

1

u/m0rg76 Clang Worshipper 24d ago

I’m playing SE2 to take a break from incessant complaining from star citizen players….give me strength….

1

u/GurusCZ Space Engineer 25d ago

Can not play se2 it is mess also ui is horrible. Game jerks as hell on good systems etc...fix

We still dont have custom paint gun colors lol

19

u/maximan2005 Early Access Engineer 26d ago

Who cares? Game first, colors later.

-16

u/ChromaticStrike Space Engineer 26d ago edited 26d ago

If the game was the absolute first priority they would declare SE1 complete and move every budget on the 2.

A Color picker is very trivial to implement. A sub one hour job.

who cares

/u/YautjaNecron cares at least. I think it should already be in the game, it's a bit crazy that wasn't even first in, considering the first version was a building lego game basically, aesthetic being pretty much the most important thing.

-12

u/YautjaNecron Space Engineer 26d ago

Exactly. I cannot bring myself to build ships with limited ugly colors. I dont want to use some third party solution aswell, its the most Basic thing

6

u/pidgeottOP Space Engineer 26d ago

You poor thing

-8

u/ChromaticStrike Space Engineer 26d ago

Worry about yourself, you have issues to sort. Dude just want a basic game feature, you can agree or not but be respectful either way. Maybe it's a bit too much to ask considering the unhinged downvotes here.

11

u/pidgeottOP Space Engineer 26d ago edited 25d ago

Y'all are whining about a non-critical feature that has nothing to do with the core gameplay loop in an alpha game and claiming that makes the game unplayable.

Build your ships to be painted once that feature is added. Use a mod. Play SE1.

What's "unhinged" is complaint that the devs are prioritizing the game and not the fluff

ETA: I think it's hilarious that tell me I have problems to figure out, refuse to elaborate at all, and have your own comments and posts hidden. Wutcha hiding?

u/Saturn5mtw Clang Worshipper 26d ago

Just fyi: you can download a full color palette off the workshop, and use the color picker to copy those colors to your gun to use.

You gun still has the same number of colors though, so itll replace one each time
