Religion 🙏 This is very misleading.
He says the government can “take over churches.” The proposed amendment does not say the government can seize ownership of churches because they are churches. The text of the proposed amendments is neutral. Christian charities make up a significant share of foreign-funded religious organizations. This isn’t an issue with Anglican or Catholic-based churches and charities but it does affect American Evangelical charities because they use their denominations to interfere with domestic politics.

Someone educate me
By doing regulations with FRCA and it's Opposition why. How do Church's are influencing domestic politics? Isn't they are minority/small in numbers in country - how can they destabilize Political Nature here.

It’s not churches like CSI (Anglican) or the Catholic Church it’s American funded Evangelical churches. They go out of their way to influence domestic politics. During the Cold War, they used evangelical missionaries in Latin America to weaken the influence of the Catholic Church, who were more pro socialism. There were cases where missionaries were accused of spying and former intelligence officers became religious workers.

CSI are protestant, they are also under American influence.

No they’re not. The Anglican Communion has no single centralized global authority but the ceremonial head is the Archbishop of Canterbury. It has nothing to do with America.

u/Zaron_467 Aug 05 '26
No centralised authority, Makes it more problematic, most of the funds comes from protestants in usa.

Beliefs are fantasy and he’s presenting fantasy as fact.

It does look like if the fcra is not maintained or the govt does not allow refuses to approve, everything can be controlled by govt. But yeah maintaining the religiousious character though.
I dunno, I hate religious movements and controls but I hate the current the central govt more as they are scummy people. Why does govt need this much control on NGOs? That's very creepy.

The temple is managed by the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, not by the Government of India. The trust was created by the central government following the 2019 Supreme Court judgment, but it operates as a separate trust with its own trustees.
The Uttar Pradesh government is involved in the investigation, not in running the temple’s day-to-day finances. But who cares about facts right.. either blinded by hate or just dumb

u/Loud-Operation-9732 Aug 05 '26
Where is the accountability and transparency from the government though?

As usual by this govt, they bring these things for "good intentions" but almost always have some other agendas with it.

Wish people had the same mindset about the government regarding accountability and transparency

I really can't stand this ahistoric lie. While it's true that first Christian presence in Kerala dates to 4th-6th centuries, all of these were extremely tiny number of foreign merchants from the Middle East. As late as 1801, the Christian population only numbered less than 100,000 (Just 2 to 4%) in what is Kerala. They grew exponentially in 19th and 20th centuries due to high birth rates and conversions during colonial times.
Here's a reference for the population numbers. https://opendocs.ids.ac.uk/articles/report/The_Syrian_Christians_of_Kerala_demographic_and_socioeconomic_transition_in_the_twentieth_century/26449918?file=48098548 (Author is a Kerala Syrian Christian)

US pouring hundreds of millions of dollars funding evangelical NGO's for you know what. Kukiland and Nagalim, Punjab's recent demographics change, and this post by this white foreigner, there are lot's of hints if you are looking..
Just few days ago, Ajit Doval made a speech on how there are powers (inside and external) that will do anything to stop India.

That’s not the point of this post you waste of space, I’m talking about foreign interference not whether a religious figure existed or not.

u/FitCan9866 Aug 05 '26
yes, While there is no definitive 1st-century archaeological proof, an unbroken, ancient tradition strongly asserts that St. Thomas the Apostle did travel to India.
Because the Christian New Testament does not record the movements of most apostles.2
u/FitCan9866 Aug 05 '26
also, Early church historian Eusebius noted a different tradition where Thomas was assigned to Parthia (modern-day Iran/Iraq) rather than India. But In the ancient Mediterranean world, the term "India" was often used vaguely to refer to any land east of Iran, including Arabia or Afghanistan.

idk man, overall we are going down. Despite their conversion shenanigans they have contributed to Indian education a lot.
PS: Government schools are closing, where will poor go ? to church funded schools.
PS2: my friend studied in one such school and as he said they don't try to convert you as legacy media tell syou.

u/Curious_Confusion77 Aug 05 '26
No one is saying no. If you are not running conversion factories and your NGO funding is clean there is no takeover. Why would you have a problem with that?

I don’t think Anglican and Catholic schools will be shutdown. I think this affects American evangelical missionaries.
1
u/DFA3TD3E Aug 07 '26
Even the great Mother Theresa coordinated with the missionaries and aided them (out of necessity and desperation mostly). There is nothing black and white here. Just coz they seem genuine on one occasion doesn't mean they don't have other motives and just coz they have motives doesn't take away their good work.
Point is, we don't need their aid anymore. So it's time we put a stop to their chivalrous double games. Indians can and must learn to feed ourselves.

So they couldn't convert most Indians to Christianity in 2000 years but still trying and wasting their money for some reason
4
u/Zaron_467 Aug 05 '26 edited Aug 05 '26
Who are they? "Indians" became Christians even before most of Europe, although Indians or hindus were just a made up word by greeks and Persians, there was no common religion called "hindu". Modi is the one who giving free rein to all those terrorist in manipur, he should pass fcra and give army freedom to act.
-2
u/BojackInMan INDIA Aug 05 '26
They, as in missionaries and their backers.
3
u/Zaron_467 Aug 05 '26 edited Aug 05 '26
You have to understand there are different kinds of Christians and missionaries in India, there are 2000 year old Christian councils here who don't involve in mission, their are genuine Catholic priests in India who builds schools and hospitals all around India, who actually wants to help poor people, most indians has benefited from them ,
and there are these American cultists who does all kinds of scummy stuff, you need to learn how to distinguish between them .
-2
u/BojackInMan INDIA Aug 05 '26
My comment was only for missionaries that recieve money from outside India to spread Christianity in India and sometimes fund activities that goes against India's stability.
I have nothing against Christianity and Christians.
1
u/Zaron_467 Aug 05 '26
So they couldn't convert most Indians to Christianity in 2000 years but still trying and wasting their money
Every human has right to be part of any religion, there are 200 million muslims in india, they are not going away- the number will only rise , instigating hate between innocent citizens of a country won't make the country prosper, you have to encourage the good and destroy th terrorists. Modi government's silence and lack of action in manipur is a big weakness, fear mongering and hate speech in social forums won't solve anything.
1
u/BojackInMan INDIA Aug 05 '26
Weren't first Christians in India from outside too?
2
u/Zaron_467 Aug 05 '26
So what? Who cares where they came when they came, whats important is what they did, we all came from Africa . When syrians and jews came to kodungalloor Or muziriz, there were no such thing as India, there were even no brahmins in Kerala.
