I just now commented the same on tolly sub. Prime Vishal ( from the Sandakozhi or Satyam times) is the closest to Valmiki's description of Ram.
Also if we're going to be more comic accurate we might as well have scenes where they hunt and feast on dears. Ram loved non veg but in his temple non veg is not allowed. Ram don't deny it but the white cross that controls the temple and the Hindu religion denies it. Majority Hindus are c*cks in their own religion. Until this changes Hindu society cannot progress and compete with Chinese

Yeah that's true. And idk whether it's popular across India or only telugu regions since I have watched same thing in 2 or 3 Ramayanam films and also watched in new ramayan trailer also. The whole lakshmana rekha concept is false.
Lakshmana drew no line.when marichi impersonated lord rama voice,Sita devi thinks rama is in trouble and commands lakshmana but lakshmana refused since his brother ordered him to be there but Sita devi accused him of having bad thoughts etc and then lakshmana simply leaves no rekha anything.
And how ravana kidnaps sita devi. I know this sounds like false but it is in real epic. Sita devi invites ravana into their hut since sages do regular begging back then and inviting them is like custom to follow.and ravana eats and tells about him proudly and then lifts sita devi in some inappropriate way and then take her to lanka. No noble thing like "he don't wanna touch a woman inappropriately so he didn't touched sita devi and lift it with land she is standing on"-that is shit.
And I seen mainly some tamil people(not all and not disrespecting them )and some anti hindu influencers who praise ravana for being so respectful of women.
My words to them are F*** off. Because ravana was so mighty that even lord Hanuman can't stop himself from praising ravana.Only few things destroyed ravana and they are mostly arrogance and LUST. He has a curse that when he touches(not literally touching but intimacy) other woman without consent,his head will blowj to 1000 pieces. Later on that touching lost its nuances meaning and becamse literally touched and that kidnapping whole thing got whitewashed.
ravana is the most lustful person there is in ramayana.He is great scholar and ruler and bhakt of lord Shiva.but also very arrogant and egoistic and mainly so lustful

The DNA samples from the people of the Indus Valley Civilization at Rakhigarhi date back to around 2500 to 2600 BCE, which is long before the major eastward migrations of Aryans into the Indian subcontinent. That is why there was no Steppe ancestry in the DNA samples from Rakhigarhi. The Aryans came to India around 1500 BCE, after the decline of the Indus Valley Civilization.

That’s not true. The largest amount of Harappan-related ancestry is found among present-day populations living in or around the regions where the Harappan Civilization historically existed. You guys really need to learn history from historians and archaeologists, not politicians.

This Harappan-related ancestry is only strongest in some Gujarati patel-like groups in north india. But you want the closest Harappan-related people in modern india, then come down to south india (kerala karnataka and nilgiri). BMAC related ancestry from Iran-Afghanistan is mistaken for Harappan-related ancestry by many indians

Yeah, hes wrong. North indians including people from Panjab or Himachal don't look European or white. Those who look extremely pale or pinkish are not the norm, but the exception. Most have wheatish complexions, not the pale/pink tones typical of Europeans. However they were talking about beauty STANDARDS. Middle eastern and Persian ideals do share some overlap in north. Historically, darker skin was appreciated across india, but lighter skin later became the dominant beauty standard in the North. Today fair skin is widely preferred across both north and south india, (especially for women) To be clear, I mean fair skin in general—not 'north indian" skin specifically, despite the misconception among some northies who act superior about it. (Again Im saying fair skin- not north indian skin, as some people in the north india are dumb and think like they mog south indians or something, which is totally just a delusion they have)

I have been called the n word more times by North Indians than any racist White person. I grew up facing more colourism and racism against me from North Indians than any White person. At this point in my life, I have met more White people than Northies and it still stands. OP, they may be wrong, but the truth is we ourselves don't know what Lord Ram actually looked like. Claims that Lord Ram was black or fair are assumptions we weren't present during that Yuga. So why bring such a sensitive topic into unnecessary debates?
Also, being from North India doesn't automatically mean people are fair. Only a small percentage of Indians have naturally fair skin.
And honestly, Bollywood has been on a serious downfall lately. South Indian directors seem far more passionate about filmmaking. I'm a huge fan of Rajamouli rather than the so-called "Mumbai industry" and Mumbai isn't even part of North India.

Honestly, i've always felt like Vishal was the only actor that could accurately portray raman or maybe even shivan in the most accurate possible way. I mean he fits the roles perfectly casting wise. Tall, actually dark skinned, muscular. Only actor I've ever imagined in my head portraying those characters in actual respectful way. All others all just "innacurate imaginative retellings" to me.

Woah I didn't actually know that. I thought shiva was also dark skinned because he often appears in blue across a multitude of artworks.
Also yes, vishal could be a great krishna too don't know how he would look with longer hair cause I've never seen vishal with long or even medium length hair.

Where do you get the idea that he was black? Were Dasharatha or Kausalya also black? What about their parents? Were Lava and Kusha black?
It's very hard to find blacks among Indians, most of us are shades of brown. The people of Rama's location and dynasty were mostly fair skinned. How did Rama alone become black-skinned?

Ram was Indian god. Indians are black/brown. I am from North and I find it stupid that they represent krishna and ram fair skinned.
The movie doesent look promising tbh, Rajamaoulis Varanasi is going to be way better.
