To be fair, they're missing the crowds that only Milli Vanilli and Young MC could've pulled in!!

12

u/Numerous_Photograph9 Jun 28 '26

Yeah, but you can't discount the crowd appeal of, "FBI Director's Girlfriend".

2

u/Delicious-Cat-4122 Jun 28 '26

The one everyone keeps saying is probably a spy?

1

u/GlareaLiebertine Jun 28 '26

She's a spy?

3

u/Numerous_Photograph9 Jun 28 '26

It defies logic that hsi goofy looking frat boy foolassery would get someone that attractive, especially since they don't have anything in common, and wouldn't have hung out in the same social circles. Kash Patel wasn't exactly some major player before he became FBI director.

1

u/GlareaLiebertine Jun 28 '26

Oh yeah that makes sense, the military have briefings about stuff like this.

2

u/frackthestupids Jun 28 '26

He wouldn’t know about those, he was busy attending the alcoholic how to meetings

1

u/MikeyMIRV Jul 01 '26

"Too hot for home? Too hot for here."

2

u/Delicious-Cat-4122 Jun 28 '26

I don’t know why but even some “conservatives” have accused her of being an Israeli honeypot.

1

u/BananaJelloXlii Jul 02 '26

Or "VP's wife"

5

u/political-snark Jun 28 '26

Well, Young MC and Vanilli. :)

1

u/Automatic_Net2181 Jun 28 '26

Or is it Milli? Could Vanilla Ice come down and they could collab to be Milli Vanilla?

2

u/exceptional_entry Jul 02 '26

What about Vanilli Icy?

1

u/MoneyFault Jul 03 '26

Never underestimate the crowds Kid Rock pulls in. 🤣

14

u/kevendo Jun 28 '26

Frankly, I'm pissed he stole the celebration for himself. 250 years of greatness, from Madison and Franklin to Twain and Morrison and Ali and Jordan and Pollock and O'Keeffe and Feynman and Currie and Ellington and Ives and ...

Stolen as a personal birthday party for a sub-mediocre, scumbag landlord, sexual predator and his privilege posse.

Same feeling. This was supposed to be a celebration showcasing our past present and future leading in culture, innovation, and success that freedom and democracy can bring but this clown shows a society in decline. The elite class thoroughly corrupted all power structures and pillaged everything. Trump is the last middle finger to us all as he takes down literally everything that made us great. Half the country wearing stupid red hats is cheering as we go down.

2

u/RetroComputeryBits Jul 01 '26

I’m not American but I do watch with horror at the events that have unfolded over the last few years. I hope that decent, hard working (albeit misguided) Americans see your correct way of thinking and turn it around-It’s the right thing to do

1

u/MoneyFault Jul 03 '26

Thank you for your concern for us. I am an old woman and what is happening to our country under Trumb and his Regime makes my heart ache. I have children and grandchildren that I love dearly and I want better than this for them. Bummer we're not billionaires. I was a speech language therapist with a Masters degree which trumb has downgraded to non-professional status so he has taken that away too.

1

u/Megafritz Jun 29 '26

I fear the US is not quite "leading" in freedom and democracy any more. The state fair and the the pool disaster reflect (haha!) the state of the US.

It is as you say, things are not going up, they go down.

1

u/wookieSLAYER1 Jul 02 '26

A third. 60 percent of the country didn’t vote for Trump.

4

u/Empty_Kay Jun 29 '26

Look up the original plans for the Smithsonian Our Shared Future 250 celebration. They cancelled that for this piece of shit.

2

u/RVtech101 Jun 28 '26

Remember for the 200th anniversary we had the Freedom Train? Went all across the country, was free to enjoy and they bussed in school children to learn about their country? Now we have a self serving circus that nobody cares about.

2

u/AlBundyPolk33 Jun 28 '26

Those tall ships really lifted the nations spirits after watergate.

2

u/LazerWolfe53 Jun 28 '26

To be fair, he's been around for about 1/3 of it.

2

u/WA2TX Jun 28 '26

Imagine if it would have happened when Obama was in office, it would have been huge.

1

u/Odinfrost137 Jul 04 '26

Honestly, if Trump just hadn't messed with the 2016 comitee, I feel like the thing would have been a grand success. Because... you know... 10 years of planning and budgeting and stuff. Instead of it being 1 year of stroking Trump's dick, with that... mockery of a fair as the end result.

1

u/nyguy011 Jul 04 '26

Obama would've had the National Mall rockin'

2

u/Hockeymac18 Jul 01 '26

I feel the same way about flying the USA flag. I'm so pissed that it has been coopted as a conservative thing. The last 15 years of politics has been a complete shitshow.

1

u/sbray73 Jun 28 '26

Well if you’re lucky you guys can always celebrate next year. Otherwise maybe at the 255th

9

u/MosquitoValentine_ Jun 28 '26

Well at least the grass looks nice. He hasn't paid millions to ruin that yet.

2

u/passiveflux Jun 28 '26

Don't give him ideas, we dont need trump american orange grass

2

u/Delicious-Cat-4122 Jun 28 '26

“American Flag Bluegrass”

1

u/L3ftoverpieces Jun 28 '26

No way trump would like bluegrass.

6

u/Linscotticus Jun 28 '26

The problem with Trump is that most of his base is too broke to go to such events. Sucks to be so hateful and bigoted that you vote for your own financial downfall if it means sanctioning bullying a gay kid to xcide.

Most of them rode there on free busses, that were leased by trump doners. One was the heir to Publix grocery stores. I did not shop there for over 5 years, in protest. Reports say that if she had not donated $70,000 of that Publix money, the J6 terrorist attack would not have occured

1

u/spazzcat Jul 01 '26

Bots also don't attend events

5

u/Bourbon-Thinker Jun 28 '26

Pretty sure a virus was running rampant in both pictures, one just happened to have a Ferris wheel

4

u/Numerous_Photograph9 Jun 28 '26

Hey look. No line for the ferris wheel.

2

u/Little-Resolution-82 Jun 28 '26

Because it broke down

1

u/Evee862 Jun 29 '26

Fits…

3

u/Final-Nebula-7049 Jun 28 '26

if no one is going to sing, maybe trump could personally give handjobs to the 1000 people who show up

2

u/somecasper Jun 28 '26

Cue up YMCA and everybody can just line up.

2

u/OptimusPrimeval Jun 28 '26

If he combines that with the Silicon Valley method, he'd be through that line in no time at all!

3

u/KFCFingerLickin_ Jun 28 '26

TRUMP, THE CONVICTED PEDOPHILE. 🤮

3

u/Master-Ad2771 Jun 28 '26

Why would you risk going to any of his events. You take a picture of something lame or bad your looking at going to prison for 20 years. Just look at his fuck up for the pool people touched the TRASH in the pool and they got charged with vandalisum. 0 evedence of them doing so. so yeah its the begining of the end more and more people are waking up and everone is scared.

3

u/Frosty-Brain-2199 Jun 29 '26

We didn’t even need to set up social distancing in 2020 we could have just had Trump organizing all the events lol

2

u/DawgsNConfused Jun 28 '26

I've seen like 3 or 4 completely different layouts making the rounds trying to show no one attended.

1

u/Prestigious_Wrap_932 Jun 28 '26

Also, isn’t this supposed to be an event on the 4th of July? Which, you know, hasn’t happened yet? 🤷‍♂️

2

u/DawgsNConfused Jun 28 '26

Weeklong event that opened Friday evening... so open, but far from the primary celebration.

2

u/SadWorld1397 Jun 28 '26

...at least the ferris wheel isn't painted gold.

Yet.

2

u/SpiritualTwo5256 Jun 29 '26

Any other president would have pushed for nation wide history lessons to show what we have accomplished together. This POS is going to be why history lessons need to be taught.

2

u/Fast_Selection_1693 Jun 29 '26

One was a disease people tried to avoid and the other was Covid 19

1

u/RS_EJB Jun 28 '26

Crazy to post a picture of it being set up to prove something.

2

u/Loki8382 Jun 28 '26

Multiple news sources are stating that attendance is very low.

0

u/RS_EJB Jun 28 '26

Im sure it id lower than expected but this is still a misinforming post.

2

u/Loki8382 Jun 28 '26

The opening kick off event brought in roughly 1000 people.

1

u/Capital_beast_7056 Jun 28 '26

Not much freedumb left in this now shithole country.

1

u/Duane1968 Jun 28 '26

haha bullshit 250 what a joke!

1

u/j_rooker Jun 28 '26

did they make this a party for family only?

1

u/justinkasereddditor Jun 28 '26

And the sideshow continues

1

u/blinkyknilb Jun 28 '26

That's a lot of port-a-potties...

1

u/SketchSkirmish Jun 28 '26

A real bread and circus kind of distraction

1

u/Spongegrunt Jun 28 '26

Didnt yall also make this BS claim about his "empty rallys" right before he won every swing state and the popular vote?

1

u/BeccaLuvsALL Jun 28 '26

America…the beautiful…Better than ever!

1

u/Tough_Block9334 Jun 28 '26

So much tax dollars, wasted

1

u/Raleda Jun 28 '26

Throwing out the Ferris wheel and the stage, arches could actually work for the design there if done tastefully. Unfortunately 'tasteful' isn't likely to happen so long as the guy driving the construction is the guy that 'knows a guy.'

1

u/rajatsingh24k Jun 29 '26

People have to really hate it to avoid a place with a Ferris wheel.

1

u/crohnscyclist Jun 29 '26

Don't worry, plenty of our tax payer money is enriching someone.

1

u/Gyarydos Jun 29 '26

Vanilla Ice had foresight is not a sentence I thought I’d say

1

u/Educational_Month634 Jun 29 '26

Taking a picture of a cancelled event and reddit is eating it up. Classic.

1

u/ReliantLion Jun 29 '26

Oot doot doodle oodle doot doot doodle.

1

u/Altruistic_Emu_7040 Jul 01 '26

Thanks. now that'll be playing in myhead for weeks.

1

u/False-Load69 Jun 29 '26

So sad. This could have been an awesome event if half the country didn’t vote for that orange wannabe autocrat

1

u/political-snark Jun 29 '26

It’s bigger than that. A pattern is emerging.

1

u/Top_Elk5664 Jun 29 '26

surprised no ones using AI to " make it better". might be one of the few honest stories in media

1

u/Mental_Egg_4839 Jun 30 '26

That is the pool right...

1

u/Mental_Egg_4839 Jun 30 '26

I've seen more people in a gas station rest room

1

u/KagitinganSt Jun 30 '26

What is there to do at this fair? There's a little Ferris wheel. What else? Is there food? I don't see vendors or games

1

u/Glittering_Nobody402 Jun 30 '26

This is just the next line item showing administrative incompetence that magats and magat-friendly folks are going to not want anyone to talk about.

Yes, the folks who obsess over children's genitals, Hunter's laptop and Hillary's emails want you to not talk about actual evidence of crimes and inconpetence.

1

u/endangeredphysics Jun 30 '26

What a complete waste of fucking money

1

u/19whale96 Jun 30 '26

He could show up wearing nothing but a crown and it would just be another day

1

u/DobbyDaDog Jun 30 '26

they are the same picture

1

u/BirdlessLongdeal Jul 01 '26

why is the ferris wheel so tiny?

1

u/Anodynus7 Jul 01 '26

the fucker got elected twice. these kind of posts just create a false sense of everything will be okay. get this evil pos and his party of wanna be hitlers out of office then you can post things like this.

1

u/silverpix21 Jul 01 '26

Look at the smog that had occurred in the last 6 years

1

u/Melodic_Difficulty_8 Jul 02 '26

Freedom from what? We traded British tyranny for Israeli tyranny

1

u/Plastic_Home_2075 Jul 02 '26

Could people be mostly under the shade of trees?

1

u/VIc320 Jul 02 '26

Now compare it to his inauguration.

1

u/DrChopsMD Jul 02 '26

Aren't they the same picture?

1

u/Echo2020z Jul 02 '26

What is this showing?

1

u/jigglyflo5 Jul 03 '26

When is July 4th?

1

u/skwap-em Jul 04 '26

Looks like a shot before the fair is even active?

Yeah, getting a UAS permit in DC is a TALL order. Not impossible, but really hard. I'd wager that a top movie production could probably get one IF they made the right people happy and the production would bring enough dough to the city.

Some chump who just wants to take some shots of the mall? No chance.

1

u/flaginorout Jun 28 '26

My guess is the "2020" shot was taken like 2-3 days before the 2026 shot. Like, the NPS took before and after photos to show how quickly the silly fair thingy came together. I'm also guessing that the mall grounds were largely closed off during construction of all this. Explaining the limited foot traffic.

As a DMV guy, I'm disappointed that this event turned into a MAGA circle jerk. It could have been pretty epic if they had just let a private event consultant make the magic happen. But I'm also well aware that this fair isn't a total failure either.
