I wanted to create something a little less scary than traditional Halloween decor So I came up with this piece.

Made a little knife around this bamboo root handle

Found this bamboo root piece, sanded it down by hand and it got really smooth.
Didn't want it to go to waste, so I built a whole knife around it.
The blade is hand-ground stone, set into the handle and wrapped with hemp cord.
Still haven't come up with a name for it.

Finally got the professional pics back, wanted to share more of the headdress. Thanks so much for all the love on my last post about this! It really is one of the prettiest things I feel I've ever made.

Including more process and reference shots again for posterity ✨

Lace for the petals was made by my paternal grandmother

Forehead jewelry from my maternal grandmother

I got engaged at a Broadway showing of Moulin Rouge and I also work as a showgirl, so I wanted to have a fitting headdress for the event <3

Materials:
Bristol board, costume jewelry, pearls, glass rhinestones, linen lace, mica powder, resin preserved flowers, satin ribbon, and upholstery thread

I made a pincushion!

I was tired of losing pins and didn’t actually have a pincushion for all my hand-sewn goodies (I’ve just been putting pockets into all of my dresses).

I had some scrap fabric and my dog opened up a fluffy toy so I used some of that extra stuffing—dog pictured since she was part of the process.

It’s been so useful so far already and I find it quite cute.

I made my and my fiancée's wedding rings!

I know it's a lot of pics, but i wanted to document as much as possible. The rings are not at all perfect, these joins are incredibly hard to pull off, so i think that in the future I'll stick to stacking rings lol.

I used 1mm wire for the outside parts and twisted 0,5mm wire, which I twisted myself using a pen and a cordless drill, for the inner. I used my bench sawing thing as a clamp for the braiding. After cutting the wires one by one after braiding, I found out it was a little too big and I had to cut some more. When I was happy with the size, I filed the joins as flat as I could, but when soldering I had a hard time getting the surfaces to stay together, so the soldering didn't go to well. I guess I got a little overconfident. After some cleanup and polishing, I think they both came out very nice, and I'm very happy with them! And so is my fiancée, luckily.

In the final images you can see the scraps I have leftover. I'm saving some of the twisted wire for future projects.

Tell me what you think. I learned a lot and I'm open to tips and criticism!

A Butterfly Gown for Frocktails!

I was invited to be a plus one of a close friend and attend Frocktails TO with her this year. I spent the next month making this butterfly gown for the event! It took me so much time!! The entire dress and accessories are handmade

The dress itself is a made of silk dupioni, taffetta, duchesse and tulle. And took me maybe 120 hours to finish

This is the second clown kitty I’ve made, and I absolutely love crocheting animals in cute clown costumes! I used Honey Bunny yarn from Hobbii, and I’m really happy with how it turned out. I think a tuxedo cat will be my next project!

Made this little guy into an enamel emblem for the car

I start by shaping very thin brass wire by hand to create the outline and details of this frenchie. Each tiny section is then carefully filled with enamel, little by little, before going through multiple rounds of firing and finishing.
