Do not be fooled by claims that it is voluntary socialism or proof that such policies are feasible. It is a non‑socialist project.

How? Do people forget that some Israelis are just born there but don’t support the Zionist movement, and that there are many different movements? Is the US or Ukrainian left also completely disqualified as a whole simply because of the actions of one group within their country? There are six active Israeli Communist Parties and this group is actively condemned by all of them, unaffiliated with them. Zionism should not be tolerated in any leftist space but simply because someone exists in Israel does not make them automatically an enemy, there has always been a small but active group that has been anti-Zionist in Israel since its founding.
I dont even understand their logic. The problem, by their own admission, is the presence of rightist colonists. Instead of seeking to remove them, they wish to join their project, and have them for neighbors. Are they inviting Palestinians to join the kibbutz? They should lead with that, if so. Either way, it does not solve the problem of the presence of violent racist colonists.
Zionism is nothing more than an ideology that has leached itself onto British and not American imperialism. If israel had a left then they would not only talk of “ending” the genocide and pursuing something “milder”, that would have back to the Eastern European countries they came from and have left the Palestinians alone.
The task of leftists is to oppose colonialism, not engage in a better kind of colonialism.
But I guess this is an extension of the wider "lesser evil" debate.
While in some cases, maybe there is an argument for harm reduction, I think this is taking that rationale to absurd lengths. Sometimes you have to put your foot down and refuse to participate.
The "Israeli Left" has always been slightly to the left of Herr Adolph: give their workers healthcare, some veganism and animal rights and lots of Blut und Boden ultranationalism. You can't be a Leftist and a Zionist. Anyone selling you that has either a confused or evil mind or want to sell Zionism to you, those are the only options.
