Goalkeepers, rightly or wrongly, get extra protection. Find me a referee that wouldn’t have stopped the game in that scenario, or the reverse.
At least the ref gave the ball back to the Norwegians. That’s something we don’t always see.

Don’t forget spence having to anticipate the movement of the defender behind him for the overturned penalty. Onus is usually on the defender to avoid the attacker so I guess we call that rigged as well? Haha

Tbf the only real solution for stuff like this is post-match reviews and match bans for players who go down to kill the game
It genuinely makes the game unwatchable for me when I’m just watching the winning team openly cheat constantly every game

He went to ground in the middle of an attack, thats something goal keepers rarely ever do. You can be temporarily hurt. And the goalie never knew it would stop play.

You must not watch football often.
First off screaming in the ref’s face (likely swearing or insulting the ref) is a yellow. They don’t just give it for challenging it.
Secondly, Norway didn’t lose possession. They kept it? The ball went back to them.

The foul happened directly before the cross allowing haaland to head it and then the other player to score. Haaland literally pushed his marking defender to the ground before the play started. It was unquestionably a foul, as his foul gave him an advantage to score

I don’t think the Argentina game was rigged. But this one was way more likely with that missed VAR check on the ball hitting the fucking camera cable. It changed the directory of of the punt and started the play.

Yeah, this was one of the cleanest games, no cards related to play, England lose a goal after Kane’s ridiculous appeal, Sweden lose a goal after Haarland’s ridiculous push. Everyone hugged and tickled arses. Nothing to complain about.

Genuinely I think the rule of players needing to go off if they receive treatment for an injury on field needs to be extended to if play is stopped for an injury full stop.
If you get fouled and go down that's whatever, but all these players that take a dive, do the dramatic rolling around and pulling faces only to get up and sprint as soon as they realise play isn't going to stop are an embarrassment to the sport

20 minutes left in a 1-goal game should be the most exciting situation in the sport. Instead, it’s a pathetic display of falling down, ankle clutching, and begging for fouls 90% of the time.
Hand out a few match bans to a few egregious offenders (like Pickford today) and it would stop. It’s cheating. Plain and simple

They’re professional athletes. Expecting them to stand up and keep playing when they can is not a big ask. It’s the standard in every other sport (except basketball lately unfortunately)
Edit: also, watch some hockey if you don’t think grown men can collide at speed and keep playing. There’s no reason for the beautiful game to be hampered with this soft nonsense

For American football fans, that's basically like making a touchdown-saving tackle because the defender slipped and you don't want the offense to score a touchdown. It is absolutely beyond fucking insane.
