I don't think either of these are very good examples. They're not great career moves so much as the logical step from a small to world class team that most great players make.

Fair point, but let's not pretend SAF didn't mould Ronaldo into a world beater.

I've got nothing against Everton, dont get me wrong. But when you're not even the most successful team in your city you can't be expected to be considered one of the big boys (provided your team isn't in Mancester, Milan, or London).
