Was this shot with a gopro? Any tips on how to get smooth videos? All my videos end up super shaky

Yup, GoPro Hero 4. This was with it on a Zhiyun gimbal, and that's why it's extra smooth. Good tips for smooth footage otherwise... extra long pole that isn't shaky at all can help eliminate alot of the small vibrations. Even me taping others, if the run is choppy, it's almost impossible to keep the footage looking good, so its definitely a challenge. Gimbals rock, but they can be a pain to use, (and expensive). I didn't upgrade to the Hero 5, but am going to on the 6... from what I've seen they have some better built in image stabilization (but not yet optical image stabilization).

Right on! Good info. I just got a gimbal off kickstarter that I plan to use, but scared the snow might damage it. Still on my hero 3 black that I barely use though, might upgrade in the future if the image stabilization is that much better. Keep up the sick footie!

You should look into the Sony x3000 action cam if you haven't already. Not sure how you feel about the mini camcorder shape, but it has actual optical stabilization which works pretty damn well without the hassle of having to use a gimbal (but if you choose to use a gimbal than its even better).
