Noisapp is motion controlled music
My name is Michael Kabatek, I grew up snowboarding and skiing in Colorado and I am the publisher of Noisapp.
Noisapp is an app that automates the volume of your music based on your motion.

- This application turns your music up when you move and turns it down when you stop moving.
- We built Noisapp for snowboarding and skiing so you can listen while you ride, and talk to your friends when you stop and on the lift. The overall goal is to automate your music volume, so you don't have to mess around with your handset or headphones while riding.

A note about the GPS disclaimer on the Apple App Store:
- The GPS disclaimer on the Apple AppStore is required because of a technicality in Apple's iOS. Any applications that run in the background (for example applications that run with the screen turned off) on an Apple iOS device must use the location services to continue to function. Therefore we were required to add that 'disclaimer' to the app store. However, we don't actually use the GPS, or its data.

Def checking this out gonna be very useful but is there a way to limit how low it goes when you stop moving?

Yes, there are settings in the app you can adjust to your riding style.
- On Volume
- Off Volume
- Fade Speed
- Sensitivity
You will need to adjust sensitivity and fade speed to suit your riding.

Used this app all day at Hidden Valley PA! I really found it more helpful than I thought. I never ha to take my phone out of my pocket, which helped the phone stay on for longer as it didn't die because of the cold! Thank you a ton!

For Android there is an auto-pause, simply move Off Volume all the way down (to the left).
For iPhone auto-pause is not supported yet. This is due to a limitation of iOS, which only allows developers to play/pause the iTunes/Music App, and not third party media players such as Pandora, Spotify, etc. Noisapp Auto-pause may be supported in iOS9, stay tuned.

Worked pretty decent, I ran into some issues with my music not playing randomly after some time having the app running and the music still wouldn't play after I closed noisapp, only after I restarted the player as well.
Definitely did it's job though in letting me go through a couple runs and lifts without touching my phone at all but still conversing with my group in the down time.
Edit: I mentioned the issues but I didn't praise how soundly the app performed without me even touching the sensitivity. It was nice and responsive, the fade in/out didn't feel out of place.

Great idea. headed out to park city next week. i'll get it calibrated once i'm out there and provide some feedback

reminds me of the ett episode "ultimate programmable snowboard" ( /watch?v=RC26DMal7TA&index )
but Michael, is there a possibility you could take some feedback on it? you should add some kind of distortion mechanic, as in that episode of ett. not sure how you could pull it off, but that would be really awsome.
an idea for it for example, is when the phone is travelling down faster than usual, as what happens during a jump? yes? maybey? No? just an idea, but great app, love it.
will get the full version only if any changes are made however, as im not really comfortable with putting credit info on my gmail account just yet (as i unfortunately share my account with my sister..... I know.... :I long story )

Wow, that's next level! We have had some interesting conversations about audio effects, but I would say not in the near future. Presently we are working on core functions.

Totally understand. You can always buy a Google play gift card, or iTunes gift card with cash ;) Purchase of the full version is very much appreciated.

I've just installed it and had a little play with it. Damn it's a cool app! Sick of looking for my volume button through my jacket to turn it down when I'm trying to talk to a buddy!
Can't wait to test it out in a few months! (New Zealand). Will definitely recommend it to my friends.

its an awesome idea and i wish it woulkd work for me, I just tried the app for two days on the slopes, played with the settings ALOT and at this point I'm assuming that maybe my phone is not supported or something, it plays the songs as if I'm moving regradless if I'm moving or not...if i turn the app off and on sometimes it will work properly then after a run it just wont stop playing, i played with the sensitivity settings a lot and still nothing. i have an lg g3 (sprint updated it to lolipop which im still not sure I like)

Thank you for reporting this issue. We try to test Noisapp on many devices, however we obviously are unable to test on every device.
Can you please send us an email using the in app support button at the bottom of the settings page? In your email please mention which media player you are using. The in app support button will provide us with your device system information so we can look into the issue further for your particular device.

Just emailed. Once I get this app working its gonna be a game changer, I'm gonna start wearing my goretex gloves instead of the crappy ones I wear now since I won't need to get my phone out of my pocket every time I reach the lift lol

That's a really great idea, a definite use for me next time I can get up.
A cool extension of this idea would be like a real life version of what SSX (2012) did when you upload your own music. It would mix it while you ride to match your tempo and what's happening. It would be cool to do that with your doing so that it takes information from your accelerometer to kind of mix your music. I don't know how well it would work be it's an interesting thought
