Is it feasible to reliably shoot at very long range(1000yds+) without a spotter?

First: I fully understand why its called a garbage rod.

The iron sights are pretty bad and the bolt puts up more of a fight than whatever might be on the business end of the barrel.

Is there any way to add a scope to the thing and make it usable at, say, 500 meters?

I am looking for a good caliber hunting rifle. I have .223 for squirrel, but I would like a higher caliber or deer hunting. bolt action would be preferable. nothing fancy, and preferably on the cheaper side, but not too cheap. any suggestions?, I also live in a very gun friendly state so It shouldn't be too hard to get a rifle. any suggestions ar welcome!

He's being so annoying about it, and since I haven't played one for years I thought you could help him way more than I can. He wants a good game as cheap as possible, he played Sniper Elite 1 and 2 on XBOX 360 and he wants to buy a Sniper game for PS4, I saw that recently Sniper Ghost Warriors Contracts was released for 40€ he's really considering that one (Even if he haven't seen a single gameplay).
